Penne alla vodka
Wow your guests with this. Simple but  kiss kiss

Ingredients
Penne
Crushed tomatoes/tomato sauce
Onion
Maggi
Salt
Water
2/3 cup heavy cream
2 teaspoons of vodka

How to properly cook penne
Bring water to a rolling boil, add salt and penne, stir imediately to make sure pasta doesn't stick to the pot.
Cook for 8-10 minutes, taste to make sure it's al dente and then drain

While preparing penne

Heat oil in a skillet and sauté chopped onions wacth for softness and then add defrost shrimps, grated black pepper and 2 tablespoon of vodka.

After 1-2 minutes, add 2-4 teaspoons of tomato sauce, maggi and simmer for 5-10 minute while you constantly add water from your penne to may sure the sauce doesn't dry up.

Reduce heat to the lowest and add heavy cream, if the sauce is too 'thick', add little water to make a little bit light, stir thoroughly until melted and well blended. Turn off heat

Drain pasta and transfer to the pan containing sauce and mix. Serve and sprinkle on the plate of penne, parsley.

You want it without broth? Here you go!

Ingredients
Sage
Ravioli
Water
Butter/Veg. oil

Procedure
Bring water to a rolling boil, add salt and then ravioli
Heat [low heat] 2-3 tablespoon of oil or a not so large cut of butter in a pan and add 2-3 leaves of sage.
When ravioli is ready, drain and serve in a plate, pour the content of the pan [oil/liquified butter and sage] on top, sprinkle with grated cheese and enjoy!

If you do not have broth, here's another method.

Ingredients
Tomato
maggi
salt
ravioli
water
onion

Procedure
Bring a desired quantity of water [not too much though] containing 1-2 teaspoon of tomato sauce [this is mainly to color the water], maggi, salt and chopped onions to a rolling boil and then add ravioli.
After 2-3 minutes when ravioli is ready, Turn off heat and serve hot. Sprinkle with grated cheese or parsley if desired.

Another simple recipe.
On that cold evening, when you're too lazy to prepare anything 'complicated', Ravioli in broth comes to mind.

Ravioli in broth

Ingredients
Ravioli
Broth
Salt

Procedure

Bring broth to a rolling boil[ the broth should already contain maggi and salt] and then add ravioli
After 3-4 minutes when ravioli is ready, turn off heat and serve hot with broth. Sprinkle grated cheese and/or parsley if desired.

Hehehe. Getting personal, are we? I thought this thread was about Jackie Appiah and Genevieve Nnaji. Of course, we can totally derail this thread, and start uploading pictures of our noses, and change the topic title whilst we're there.

We all have different opinions - in my personal opinion, Jackie Appiah has a bulbous hooter. In your personal opinion, Genevieve Nnaji has a hard, masculine face, big ears and small eyes. I can deal with your opinion, but can you deal with mine? You wouldn't be getting your knickers in a twist otherwise.

BlueDiva:
What is this dunce saying?

Its u who named some iidiots as popular and i said popularity isnt the same as greatness.
Those fools u mentioned where a menace to others. I said she made positive impact on some peoples lives.

An attempt at being smart actually makes u more silly. You should have quit while u could.

I don"t know what greatness means to u, but to me it means making a positive impact on the world.
If an individual does it by singing, fine.

Winehouse would have motivated tons of young people into developing their innate musical talent.
Every adult has a choice according to you haters, therefore, Amy doesnt have to be a role model for people to take drugs.

I love Fela and Winehouse but dont do drugs. Simple.
Take the positive and do away with the negative. It aint rocket science dumbo!

A quote from an Amy fan.
This is what touching lives means dummy.
You are not in any way suffering from alexia, are you?

You made reference to Amy's popularity and in continuation, the obscurity of posters here ( if this was not, as it simply implies, an attempt to give importance to her fame as though, for the simple reason of being popular, she deserves commiseration, a standing ovation and a spectacle of hat doffing, then I ask, what was the relevance of that line?) I replied to state that she is not immune from criticism by virtue of her popularity neither does her popularity make her a great person. After much chatter from you, here you are saying the same thing albiet in a different language '' . . .popularity isn't the same as greatness''. If you quite agree with this fact, why, then, did you feel the need to reply to my first comment which only pointed out this fact? And I'm the one that needs to be heard/read? Lol! Good! you will now hear/read me . . . Listen

Amy or whatever she is called might have a had a good voice but that's where it ends.
Whatever it is that drove her, was obviously strong and drove her in a fast and brutal manner to her death rather than creativity and to think she allowed it . . . Ever heard of wasted talent?

If, according to reports, she died of an overdose of drink and drugs, then she called for it and the last thing scatterbrains like yourself can make me do is feel pity for a self destructed drug-dependent. If this hurts, you know what to do.
Following my definition of greatness, she is as significant as the cigarette butt lying close to my feet this minute and frankly, so are you, your opinions and sentiment towards this issue . . . she imparted ABSOLUTELY nothing to me, not even a 2-minute moment of sonorous pleasure.  Now, I ask, in what way did she positively have an impact on you and the ''world'', extension of Amy? Don't even come up with that feeble line ''she motivated many to pursue their talent'' because so did many miscreants. Osama Bin Laden, Hitler and the other ''fools'' I earlier mentioned must have had motivators and must have motivated, so what's the noise about?

BlueDiva:
Amy would be remebered for ages whether your dumb azz believes it or not.
MissyB would be remembered only on NL as someone who types before thinking.
And Amy Winehouse will be forever remembered as the 27-year-old dopehead who after ''having a positive impact on the world'' was incapable of equally having a positive impact on her own life. Of course, she is greater. cheesy

lalaboi:
Theres loads of people dying in southern africa cos of the famine, i am more worried about them than the death of a crack head!

Are you daft or you just feel the need to be heard(read)?

Nobody said popularity equates to touching lives.
Amy had her fans. You know how many young kids would have been motivated to pursue their dreams in music just by hearing Amy"s songs?

You dont have to find a cure to HIV before you would have been said to have touched lives dummy.
There's enough display of tantrums on this thread as it is, the last thing I want to do is indulge a disconsolate being who by all means, needs to vent her/his distress due to the death of a strange-looking crackhead she considers a role model.

If that line was not intended to equate her fame with greatness, I ask, what was its relevance?  undecided
Your point was? undecided undecided

''Amy has written her name in the history books'', and so flying what? She led herself to her grave and I'm supposed to be here ruing like you lot with farcical perception of success and greatness?
Your head nor correct.  cool

If you must know, Amy was to me, a specimen to hold up to young'uns cautioning them exactly what not to be and whom not to emulate, and when I heard of her death, not a single phock was given from me. If this hurts you or makes your head spin, do get some drugs and help yourself; you should feel better afterwards, just like Amy. Yeye worry you!  cool

As earlier stated, it's a shame and BlueDiva, you, my dear, are a bigger shame. Over and out!  cool

Spaghetti carbonara

Ingredients:

Eggs [ 1 per person]
Grated cheese
Bacon
Oil
Ground black pepper - optional

Procedure
Prepare spaghetti. Immediately you put spaghetti into boiling water,
Heat little quantity of oil [say, 2-3 tablespoon] in a pan and add your sliced/chopped onion and allow to sauté, watch for softness.
Add diced bacon
Reduce heat to the lowest so bacon and onions do not get burnt.
Whisk egg(s) in a plate and add grated cheese to egg(s) and whisk together.

When Spaghetti is ready, drain and put into the pan containing bacon

Increase heat to medium and stir. Leave for about 30-40 seconds, then turn off heat or reduce heat to lowest.

Empty the egg mixed with cheese into the pan containing pasta and mix thoroughly. Turn off heat immediately and serve.
One of my fav.  kiss  kiss

You want a Nigerianized pasta? Here you go.

Spaghetti with tomatoes and shrimps

Heat oil in a pot and sauté sliced/chopped onions- watch for softness

Defrost [if frozen] your shrimps and then add. You may also add basil if you wish, for the aroma.

allow to fry for about 2 minutes

Now, add your already sliced tomatoes, pepper and maggi

Reduce heat to medium and allow to cook for about 10 minutes before adding your already cooked spaghetti.

Mix thoroughly and serve.

Note : Instead of Shrimps, you could use bacon. It goes well too.

Enjoy!

Welcome, fans of pasta and those who are indifferent to it.
Pasta is one of my specialities in the kitchen and I'd like to exchange recipes with and get new recipes from those who are also into pasta, and give recipes to those willing to try new recipes.

In here, we'll be dealing with all kinds of pasta - Spaghetti, penne, fusilli, Ravioli, Gnocchi, Tagliatelle etc- and various soups/sauces that can go with [each kind of] pasta. We'll also be looking at how to make different kinds of pasta.

Let's get started!

Are you hungry, but have nothing but pasta and tomatoes at home, or just too lazy to prepare anything 'complicated'? Well, here's what to add and how to add 'em in order to have a delicious plate of pasta ready in just few minutes.

Spaghetti with tomatoes and basil

Tomato sauce and basil
Heat oil in a pan/pot and sauté garlic or sliced onion until soft, but not browned.
Add 2-3 already washed basil leaves and after about 30-40 seconds,
Add tomato sauce or sliced tomatoes.
Add maggi and allow to cook for 10 minutes

While that is going on, prepare your spaghetti
How to properly prepare spaghetti
Bring water to a rolling boil,  add salt [Note: Adding salt before water boils may gradually destroy your pot so it's advisable to add salt when water begins to boil] and then add your spaghetti and allow to cook for about 6-7 minutes.
Taste to make sure it's al dente [ not too soft/done, not raw either], turn off gas, drain spaghetti in a colander and then either add spaghetti to the pot of tomato sauce and mix or serve spaghetti in a plate and then put the sauce on top. Serve hot. You could add cheese.

Enjoy!

Who says you cannot turn back? If you do, what will happen?

Food for thought - Your relationship with God is not and must not be by force, whoever tells you otherwise, lies.
If you feel imprisoned because you serve God, 1) you've been misoriented or 2) you worship in the wrong place and with the wrong sect.

2 Corinthians 3:17 -
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Change. Yes, you can.

Trust NL to turn things into a circus.
Amy has written her name in the history books. How many of us here will the world remember?

I don"t judge her. Its the life she chose.
However, its not about how long a person lives but how many lives one has touched.
Only one who is shallow enough to  think of the world a popularity combat would applaud this line of thought. Lawrence Anini, Osama bin laden, Idi Amin Dada, Adolf Hitler etc have their names in the history books too, how does that make their impact on the world more beneficial and positive than mine on the lives of a selected few?

Topic,
Following reports, she called for it. It's a shame!

You could use fish or prepare without.

Here's how to make Jollof rice without meat/fish

[b]Ingredients

Tomatoes
Pepper
Seasoning
Onion
Broth/water
Vegetable oil

Direction

Parboil rice for about 5-10 minutes and then wash

Heat oil in a pot and sauté the already sliced/chopped onion until soft, but not browned

Add tomato paste and the already blended pepper on medium heat while stirring for about 3 minutes

Add maggi and any other desired seasoning

Add rice and continue stirring

Add water [ if you aren't using broth] gradually to ensure you don't put excessive quantity of water, allow to boil.

Reduce heat to medium and allow to cook until almost all of the water/broth has evapourated.

Taste rice to see if it's well cooked- if so, turn off gas and serve, if not add a little more water/broth.

Enjoy!
