FOOLS speaking on what they don't know. whether the movie is Hausa, or English-speaking, they're considered Nollywood movies. when they count the number of NOLLYWOOD movies produced and distributed every year, they are counting ALL movies that are made in Nigeria, whether in native tongue or not. it's those that choose to divide themselves and start giving their movies all sorts of bogus names. Nollywood does NOT equal Igbo. maybe if some took the time to look at the names of many of the stars and producers, you will see that roughly 70% are Igbo. if others choose to stay in their group and do movies in their own language, how is that another man's fault? get off of your high horses, seriously.

reasons why i watch Nollywood:

1) its different
2) i can connect and understand many of the stories on a personal level, being that I'm a Nigerian/Africa
3) I've stated watching Hausa movies, and it helps me understand the culture and how they value religion and family vs what I'm used to.
4) comic relief; its fun to watch and laugh at all the mistakes and the bad acting

but I give Nollywood credit where it's due. to be a home-grown industry in a country where almost nothing works (security/constant electricity) and still be able to pull it off is amazing. Nollywood is adored not only by Nigerians, but other Africans.
if not for Nollywood, many outside of Nigeria would still have this myopic idea on what Nigeria and Nigerians are all about, based on stereotypes.
Nollywood has done what the Nigerian government has FAILED to do.
Nollywood is one of Nigeria's largest exports and does help the economy in a way.

Fruits and vegetables for adequate amounts of vitamins and minerals. Meat and egg [protein] for muscle growth and development. milk, cheese and yogurt for adequate amount of calcium. Try jarred baby food . . . It's recommended.

This is evident even in the way animals feed, protect, teach and love their offsprings just as humans do. An animal that has just given birth will leave her baby for a while to hunt for food because she cares for her new born [Manifestation of that emotion.
A dog will run and leap as if it were glad everytime you come home after a long day's work because it missed you [manifestation of that emotion]. A mother bear who has just lost her young could be heard crying, mourning her loss [manifestation of that emotion]. I cannot genuinely cry, or be sweet just because it is demanded from me, but because I am hurt or really love someone. It is an innate emotion; I do not feel it because I was taught to or I'm expected to feel it, I do because there's been some chemical reaction in my brain. A not so recent study on pain showed that people in considerable pain had less pain and needed less medication during the times they were visited by their loved ones (spouses, family members, good friends). This happens by chance?

Use any device such as MRI OR EEGs to test my physical and mental responses to the question of whether or not I feel weak, sleepy, lack energy and concentration, I'd respond in a manner consistent to human expression of tiredness/XYZ. Same goes for love. . . .What you call it, does not change the fact that it is what it is.

Love is an emotion and like every other emotion, it isn't corporeal so I can't prove its existence to you with the use of a scientific instrument. I can only give you an argument/explanation but I can't give you understanding. . . I doubt my ability to convince you, too.

Morality demands so much from us, how many of us actually act morally when it doesn't suit us? We are supposed to act in accordance to the golden rule - Treat others as you wish to be treated- but we are not, in a sense,  compelled to, so most times, we tend not to. But, when that emotion called love occurs, you voluntarily do more than the golden rule, strip yourself of your selfish nature, put that person first before even yourself NOT because you want to act in accordance to the golden rule or any moral principle but because it pleases you to; all you want to do is please that person even if it means displeasing yourself, you personally certify yourself a 'FOOL/MUGU' for that person and you're happy about it. Nothing else matters.
This is very different from doing something because you're expected to do it.

It is ethical that I give that blind man at the next bustop alms, the starving child bread, the unclothed man clothes, the stranded girl a ride, visit the sick child at the hospital but I don't . .
Meanwhile, out of the little I have, I VOLUNTARILY buy gifts for my mum even when they are the last things she needs, drive 960 km just to see her even when I have important things to do, deprive myself of certain pleasures just to make her happy.
Do you actually think I do all that for my mum because I want to obey the golden rule?

Point is - There are some things you do to/for people not because you're expected or compelled to do them but because you desire to, it makes you happy to do these things and, from personal experience, only when that emotion called love occurs, one does these things.

PS: Need I add that not all of us are adherents of the golden rule, some of us believe more in the platinum rule ; treat others as they wish to be treated.
