CelebritiesRe: Who Is More Pretty, Jackie Appiah Or Nigerian Actress Genevieve Nnaji? by MissyB3(mod): 1:26pm On Jul 19, 2011
lovistic:
I should love to see Gene's face too without make up cos she has never been able to do away with it. She even had a fight with Ini Edo on make up when she said " With make up, i can always look young and avoid wrinkles". Ini advised her that, you can never cheat nature and that, no matter what u do, old age is inevitable". So Amaka, stop your hypocrisy cos your Gene loves make up than her life self.
Yawn . . . [Ta to Amaka  grin ]

Who da’hell is jackie? And on wat grounds is the comparison based on? Acting skills, beauty, graciousness……here in america the household name in african movies is truly genevieve nnaji. In ten years to come jackie would not be where genevieve is. Jackie is cool in her own way but Maribeth, a pity u wanna soil jackie’s effort with this comparison…doh!
I stopped reading when I got to this comment. Finely put!
Even Jackie would humbly step aside for Gene, whatever the yardstick for comparison is.

In my opinion, height is principally genetically determined and not influenced by diet.
Lotsa intake of protein may help though.
FoodRe: About The Coconut Water by MissyB3(mod):
duality:
hi guys, i just had to bring this up hear. its about the coconut water. i noticed its been more than 16 years since i tasted the coconut (surprised?) well., i remember  that i was not allowed to take the water. my older relatives said the water can make one dull. you know now, no one whants to be dull; since the whole thing is "drink and become dull" now i felt like taking the coconut yesterday, and remembered what happened years back. i brought this to the notice of a colleague and to my supprise he told me that coconut water will rather, make a dull person bright. at least that was what he was told.

now guys, have you been told such a thing before? what do you think. scientifically, does this stand? your opinions please. opinions from the  trado medical gurus are also welcome.does it make one dull? and does it make the dull one bright?. other perspectives are also welcome.

now  shoot!!!
hakunajay:
Lol! Seriously, how old are you now? Hahahaha,  we all know how little coconut water can be and I think the adults don't wanna share it with kids, that's why they said it makes one dull. Another case is that of eggs, we were told back then that eating eggs will make us to steal but as for the fact that coconut water makes one more intelligent, I don't know,
So, I wasn't the only one that was lied to, after all?!  grin
Though grown enough to understand the falsity of this claim, I still steer clear of coconut water. And, no, it neither makes one more intelligent nor dull(er).

These parents ehn!  grin

All these oyinbo people that think every Naija man is with 'em because of ''the papers''.  undecided Well, who would blame them?!  undecided  undecided

SarahMaria, being referred to as the mother of his children may be unromantic but it certainly does not establish the suspicion of him being with you solely for the papers. As for the age issue, I can hardly make sense out of what you were trying to communicate but, whatever happened to talking it out as companions?

Plus, yes, post this in a section out of the reach of 9jafetish and her likes, for circumspect contributions.  cool

@Jenifa, sorry for the late reply I am just seeing this thread.

First of all thanks. . . but I really do not do much with my hair. (my mom hair is thicker and way longer than mine. I guess I took it from her.) I wash it once a week, deep condition every month. I use a leave in treatment like every two days.

I retouch once a year hence the thickness. wink

Quite similar to the joke I read on Facebook -

A Nigerian man and his wife were having dinner at a very nice restaurant when this absolutely stunning young woman comes over to their table, gives the husband a big kiss, says she'll see him later and walks away. His wife glares at him and says, "Who the hell was that?""Oh," replies the husband, "she's my mistress.""Well, that's the last straw," says the wife. "I've had enough, I want a divorce. "I can understand that," replies her husband, "but remember, if we get a divorce it means that you don't get any more shopping trips to London, Paris or New York, no more Christma, s abroad, no more weekend trips to South Africa or Dubai, no more Mercedes, Land Rover or BMW in the garage and no more Boat Club, Beach House or Ikoyi Club. But the decision is yours."
Just then, another Nigerian friend enters the restaurant with a younger gorgeous girl on his arm.
"Who's that woman with Chief?" asks the wife.
"That's his mistress," says her husband.
"Ours is prettier," she replies.
You lot should leave Naija women alone jare.  grin grin grin

Oha

Ingredients
- Seasoning
- Ibo land Ogiri (locust beans)
- Handful of Oha leaves
- Cow skin (pomo)
- ½ oz Crayfish
- 8 Snails
- 6 Yellow peppers
- 6 Oziza leaves
- 250g Assorted meat
- 2 ½ cooking spoon of Palm oil or palm kernel nuts
- 10 pieces of Cocoyam
- 1 oz Stockfish
- 1 oz Periwinkle

METHOD
Step 1 : Boil the palm nut and cocoyam. Allow to soften for 25 minutes.
Step 2 : Extract the palm nut oil before adding to a thick pan. Allow to heat for 2 minutes with a few slices of onion.
Step 3 : Peel the back of the cocoyam with your hands. Quickly add in the palm oil to melt, then a small amount of
water and pounded yellow pepper.
Step 4 : Add the crayfish, stockfish, snail, ogiri (locust beans), cow skin (Pomo), periwinkle and seasoning. Allow to cook for 15 minutes.
Step 5 : Stir and then allow the cocoyam to melt in the soup. Cocoyam serves as a thickener in the soup but if too thick, add some water.
Step 6 : Add the Oha leaves. Do not chop/slice with a knife but use your hands to tear it into the soup.
Step 7 : Add the Oziza leaf (you can chop/slice the Oziza with a knife). Leave all to cook for 5mins then stir. Taste the seasoning (adjust according to taste).
Step 8 : Serve with Fufu or Eba.

It is so final. He makes mad sense, I won't lie. But he bases his judgment based on peoples experiences and ideologies. I can't be who I am not. He doesn't understand me, he thinks im some tough babe or something. i don't even know how to explain abeg. This what happens when Im trying to tell him who I am, I end up not passing any reasonable message across. He has that effect.

Answer.

"Brain": Use 'brains'.

"Offsprings": Mass noun. Use 'offspring'.
I don't quite follow. Do you mean the correct sentence is - Seun Osewa, the nerdy chap who lives in Ogun State and the brains behind Nairaland, is one of the offspring of Chief Osewa.
