Caveat: My opinion isn't cast in stone. And I tried to be as objective as I can as a "young man." Rape is a graveous crime. It compares best to murder because like death, the effect(s) can never be undone. Absolutely no woman (girl) deserves to be raped by any man. But then, it's necessary to understand that "men don't rape women because they are men and women are women." Rape doesn't explicitly stem from the urge to "man over a woman." RATHER it stems from the societal idealization of a woman as a sexual gratification object. From the songs we listen to, the movies we see, the contents we read on social media to almost every thing our day-to-day lives revolve around, classify womanhood through the prism of "sex." Ukwu, Twerk, Bumbum, Slay Queen, Olosho, are just few of the words that have been normalized to objectify women. Alas! Even the "objects" have been wired to accept being objectified, and live within the paremeter of being seen as "objects." You see women snapping pictures to magnify their bum and display their boobs just to be validated by the same society that objectified them. And the worst thing? Men are wired by the same society to see these "objects" as trophies that are reserved only for the "fittest," "wealthiest" and "smartest" So in retrospect, we have a society that expects men to be "dogs" and women to be "objects." And when some "objects" whether through certain circumstances or personal reflections refuse to be "objectified," some "dogs" in the euphoria of winning an extra trophy resort to violence in the form of rape to force the object into submission subservience. So we have a case of a man preferring "the euphoria of winning an extra trophy" forcefully to giving in to "fair play" that the society seemingly forget to include in the rules guiding the game♂ In short, rape may never go away because similar to money rituals, yahoo yahoo, armed robbery, etc (spurred by the elevation of "get rich or die trying" mindset in our society) it has become a conscious part of our society. So while we wish the menace away, it's necessary we go back to the basics and reprogram our societal standards. Don't expect the same Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and Davido that objectified you in their songs to lead the change. As a woman, there's a need to take it upon yourself to resist the societal attempt to objectify yourself. Your "womanness" is not by how good you conform to the stupid societal standard of you being an object. You're a woman and that alone validates your "womanness" And as a man, you need to understand that the idea of being "a dog who respects no fair play in the game" only puts you in the same pedestal as animals. Your real trophy will come from the number of women you choose to treat strictly as "women" and not "objects" like the society implores you to do. You're a man not a dog! Rapists are criminals and should be treated as such. SAY NO RAPE! |
AmazingMOG:LOL. The certainty with which you spewed this trash en. I hope it doesn't count against you in heaven, lol |
danqujigy:Ow many info have you yourself provided? Just because the dude got into a random argument, he has suddenly turned immatured and unhelpful. Yet the same guy has been the one supplying most of the infos. Seems more like a jealousy than sensibility. |
SHAKABOOM:Igbos are always marginalized yet they can't stay back in their region? When will you people stop this victim mentality? Every single person In Nigeria is a victim of poor governance. The few ones who escaped the victimhood earned it by going all out. Nothing will be given to the igbos on the platter of gold. Keep up with the threats fellas! |
pazienza:Well, the yorubas didn't die in mass during Civil War. |
Jakemedg:Sorry to say, but no be same oil from the south Nigeria dey feed on? Outside the privileges Nigeria offers, how has northerners fared globally? How many northerners are even private professionals? Most of the big farms up north are even owed by politicians and their relatives. |
No disrespect to any of the regions, but I think it's ultimate injustice for some selected group(s) to be feeding fat on the commonwealth of a minority group all in the name of political power. I doubt there's any region without any form of competitive advantage. North has Agriculture. SW/SE is blessed with Human Capital. SS has crude oil. Let each region manage her resources and the pace with which her people prosper. The current arrangement is parasitic at best. 2023 should be about any candidate who's ready to restructure this country. We can't afford more years feeding the worst of our nation, while our best brains are left to feed on crumbs. |
Yenefer:Ow many northern businessmen made it without political patronage? |
omonnakoda:Leave them now. My mum said prostitution, waywardness and pre-marital sex have been the norms even before she was born. The liberalization of our society only made it more open. |
superlightning:Yet the average igbo man sees the place as heaven on earth. ![]() |
rdokoye:LOL. Mention one livable city/state in SE |
mrvitalis:You really have issues with objectivity. Abuja can't do 5 years without Nigeria talk more of 30 years. 75% of Abuja's GDP revolves around Federal civil service. Remove that, and you have a grounded city. Lagos on its own will feed itself and other south west States comfortably for decades without Nigeria. |
mrvitalis:Ojukwu said more than this ![]() |
mrvitalis:How will Abuja survive for 30 years without Nigeria's allocation? You and this your hallucination-induced analysis en |
falopey:I have heard this same Line of story albeit with righteous people who practised Islam before they died. What do you have to say to that? |
Macro231101:LOL. So you actually believe you're going to heaven? ![]() |
Skepticus:Is the over 57k deaths in USA also a result of voting an idiot? |
mrvitalis:Sorry bro, you're nothing but a dunce. You claimed a yoruba student topped Jamb after 20 years because the body is headed by yoruba man. You foolishly failed to note that Jamb has mostly had yorubas in charge from 1999 till death, when your so called igbo people were leading in the exams. |
mrvitalis:Who was heading Jamb in all those 20 years? You guys should be taking to the lab for studies on low esteem. |
mrvitalis:Guy, abeg close this thread already. You're beginning to sound like a broken record ![]() |
mrvitalis:How do you guys come about these funny statistics? Aren't you ashamed. Una go just pick random numbers and throw them around as you deem fit. Same igbo men we meet every day in swest? Chai! |
FuckAllTheMODs:Another aba made statistics. ![]() |
obowo69:Ode. Have you bothered researching about the cost of living of those places you posted? Most of you guys don't go to school. It's of no use arguing with you. |
maestroferddi:That's where you guys don't get it. You're enriching the locals. We don't mind selling lands to you guys to polish your bruised ego. But at the right time, the real owners will take back their properties while you return to your potopoto region empty handed like you left there. ![]() |
strykr:No one blames the hausa-fulani for their inadequacies like you guys. Despite years of misrule, you guys will rather die supporting pdp than change parties. You don't hate Ikpeazu, he won convincingly just a year back. Okorocha was hated majorly because he dared igbos' love for conservatism. Btw, yorubas don't have any issue with clamour for biafra. We just hate the hate-filled tactics you guys used and the irrational love for blaming others for una problems. |
This is most likely a sign of tiredness probably due to not getting enough rest. But no one expects an igbo man to see a good thing in a "supposed enemy." |
Redcrafton:You are suffering from self inflicted delusion. An average yoruba takes responsibility and does not blame his inadequacies on the North. We expend our energy on pressurizing our State governments to deliver not on mirages. That's why neither apc nor pdp can lay total claim over the politics of the region. But you igbos, despite gaining so much individually from Nigeria always see everyone except your leaders as your problem. You guys never bother to see the stick in your eyes but tend to focus on the flies hovering around other people's eyes. Shouting biafra upandan is just a comfortable way to hide una worldly acclaimed low self esteem. It's pretty sure you guys will still blame Nigeria once you finally get your dream biafra. |
rdokoye:Continue to dwell in wonderland. How many yorubas are in the east? You said yorubas aren't accommodating yet the larger potion of rich igbos were made in South West. Aren't you ashamed of your inconsistency? Stories abound on how unreceptive your people are to non-locals' success in your land, especially when it comes to purchase of Lands and properties. Do I begin to count the number of deaths that are recorded each year as a result of Igbo-hausa fights in the East? Even a non-conforming igbo person that practice Islam is seen as ndi hausa. Isn't that intolerance at its worst? What is even in the East that would make it a destination for any sound Yoruba? If you don't know the importance of FDI to developing countries, then I can't help you. You said Lagos personifies everything that's wrong with Nigeria, yeah. Yet, the state ranks above all states in most developmental indices. And yes, many igbo people living in Lagos arrived there 'yesterday.' If that's not the case, most of the Igbos' transport companies would have closed their offices. Lagos is a dreamland to most igbos. You can deny that fact all you want. By government failure, are you including the failures of your leaders as well? Because it is habitual for igbos to never take responsibility. Best of luck bining that habit when you guys get your Biafra. South West was by far the most developed region during regionalism. And yes it was all down to the ingenuity of the locals then, under a visionary leadership. I understand how much you guys overestimate the importance of your 4*4 shops littered all over Lagos. But when the time is right, and biafra becomes a reality, you guys will understand how badly your tribe depends on others to achieve any success. Btw, you are yet to answer my question. |
maestroferddi:Bla bla bla. How come you guys don't see these potentials all these while and return home? Do you need biafra to do that? |
maestroferddi:Migration is a human thing. There are equally more yorubas in UK than Igbos and probably as many igbos as yoruba in USA. Migration is based on individual preferences. There are still millions of igbos at home, isn't that the case? Kill trade, and watch the larger part of igbos struggle for breath. Igbos are able to achieve so much in Lagos because the governing policies and the location provide an enabling environment for any willing trader. And theres representation across Nigeria in the state because of this, it's not solely an igbo thing. Smart northerners are making it, same as smart individuals from other regions. Do you think Lagos would have such level of tolerance for non-local investors if it was based in the EAST? Best of luck answering that question when you guys get your biafra. The question is how come there's so much thirst for foreign lands (with arguably lesser potentials compared to what's obtainable in the east according to comments on this thread) when you guys could easily develop your individual states by tapping into the "massive potentials" that have been highlighted so far in the thread? Is the FG to blame for that? In simple terms, you guys are accusing Nigeria as the reason why you guys prefer the potentials in Kano and Lagos to the potentials in Owerri and Aba. Is that not insanity? ![]() The only difference between you guys and fulanis is just the level of education and exposure. An average igbo man is as intolerant, unaccommodating to his host and domineering as a Fulani man. If given the free will, you guys will prefer to rule over every community you find yourselves while your states remain inhabitable with conditions as bad as IDP camps. No wonder NK is able to attract so many hapless youths from your villages. |
Funny how igboland looks so good potential-wise on this thread but remains largely shitty in reality despite over 21 years of singlehandedly choosing their leaders from the same political parties. How come despite all the potentials, most igbos would die to hustle in Lagos or Kano rather than stay home and harness these potentials? Is Nigeria the reason for that too? ![]() |
Ibechris2:How does a tribe being the richest be my problem? It seems you woke up from the wrong side of your bed. You guys just bring up so many false rhetorics that make one imagine how lowly una self esteem is really is as a tribe. Tueh! |
