-How to handle anger will sell more than parenting but it must not be a spiritual book .
2. If you are a Pastor n author, you will get more sales selling ur books to ur established audience here in Nigeria than on Amazon where nobody knows you.
Kindle publishing is successful when you find out what is selling and you ride with the wave.

Bestlyf: Post office is messing me up big time. I have applied for payoneer twice over 4 months now and I recieved none of them. Can I go ahead to upload my books and sort out payment details later?

Upload ur books immediately!
Payoneer card's arrival to Nigeria is 1-5 months because of our ancient postal system. All d cards u applied for will still come.
If ur books sell, ur money will accumulate with time n amazon will pay into ur payoneer account.You can then use $60 to order a new card thru DHL (if u can not wait any longer).
That is what I did.

I don't think Graphcard can be used for amazon payments because your name has to be on the check.

one9jeria: ETF as a payment mode. what is it. can you receive your money in Nigeria if you use it as a payment mode. and how do you clear it in Nigeria is it through dom account like that of check,

EFT - electronic fund transfer is for publishers with American or European bank accounts or other accepted countries. It means your royalty is sent directly into ur bank account. Nigerian banks are not accepted.

EFT is the best. You get monthly notifications n there's no risk of ur check being lost in the post.

To my question, the issue of payments, when exactly do they pay after one has reached the payment threshold either by ETF or Check? I mean the duration and when one will receive his payment? Please explain clearly. Thanks

KDP PAYMENTS
You will be paid 60 days after you reach the payment threshold according to d payment mode dat u choose (check or EFT).
Example if u reach d minimum payment in February, u will be paid end of April. The only lag time is when you are just starting. After ur first 60 days with KDP, u will continue to receive monthly payments as long as you can cross minimum payment level each month. Jan money is paid in March, Feb paid in April,April paid in June etc.

If you are receiving EFT, you will get a Remittance Advice in ur email once your payment is ready each month. for dis November, payment is on d 29th. Remittance Advice is not sent to those that are receiving checks.

When u are through with the first book, go and click Add new title again to upload the next one.

D book cover is a separate file n it is uploaded separately.

one9jeria: a little clarification on formating of your book. let us ms word for instance, what is the font size (12, or 14)?
2. what is the spacing like (double or single or 1.5)
3. what type of paragraphing do you need. thanks

1. font size 12
2. use default MS Word spacing.
3. Don't indent your paragraphs. use left justify. Leave one line between paragraphs. To test, copy a portion of
d writeup n paste it in notepad.

one9jeria: dear OP can you write originally on a book and give it the same title that is already on sale in the amazon kindle store.

I haven't done that but I don't think it's ethically right. You can twist the title a bit.

This means it is selling maybe 1 copy in 3 to 4 months. This thread is about making regular income not occasional 2 or 3 dollars.

3. You are the only one dat can know how long it will take you to write. It could be a few days or several days or even weeks. My shortest books are written in 3 to 4 days of continuous wrting.

I have since stopped writing for other people. I don't even have enough time to write my own books. You can get writers on desk and elance. Odesk is cheaper. However, there are certain. things you must know b4 hiring writers.
Meanwhile, you can't do this business if you are not computer literate.

one9jeria: i will first of all thank you for this costly info you are giving away free of charge. however, i would like you to tell us something more about the cliche that sells more. you dont need to be specific just categorize it please. you talked about recipes what other ones. CLICHE is the KEY please educate us more on this.

You mean hot selling NICHE.
Pls read the tutorial at d beginning of d thread.
Tip: Watch out for keywords that are common to d bestsellers in the subcategories/niches you are researching.

Books are ranked according to Amazon Sales Rank. Now this can be real sales or free downloads (during free promotions). If ur book is selling well, it will naturally appear on d first page of bestsellers in its category.
The other way to get your book on the first page is to have a successful free promotion.
On the bestsellers' page, paid books are displayed alongside free books. This means if you have a lot of free promo downloads, d book will appear alongside other bestsellers under paid.
This exposure will translate to sales for you when d free promo ends.

Example. I did a free promo for a new book over the weekend. It had over 2400 downloads in 2 days n rose to number 1 in 2 subcategories. It also rose up to #86 free in Kindle store. D promo ended 2 days ago n it has sold almost 80 copies.

When you are uploading d book, u will see "add contributors". On the book cover, u can put author name wherever u like.

Make sure d book is enrolled for KDP select.You can enroll when you are uploading or after.
Promotion is set after d book is published. Go to your bookshelf. Click on manage benefits at the right end of the book. On d benefits page there are two options - kindle countdown deal n Free Book Promotion. Choose Free Book Promotion n set d dates dat you want.

The last promotion I did was the worst of my kindle
book publishing. Dunno why.

Funny enough, it was the first time I'll be posting

Just one sale per day each book. This thing is funny to me at times.
The book with just 27 pages without any good information like that is now
making much more than I expected..

Yes ten books. The first one is up over the weekend and has sold more than 50 copies as of this morning (it's in hot new release in two subcategories). I'm uploading the next one today. 3 are being written by freelancers n I'm doing anoda by myself.
Tip: sales rise November to February and there will be bonus from KDP select dat is why I'm rushing.

Read dat your 27 page book again.There must be something in it for people to b buying it.It has happened to me before. We learn from success,failure n mistakes in this biz.

Promotion will not work for some books. especially if it is in a generally category. this happened to most of the fiction books I published. but when I publish a book in a narrowed down nonfiction niche, it's always blast.I've had more than 2000 downloads in one day.

I think free kindle book sites are overrated. I've since stopped using them. I haven't seen much difference in my free promos.

good day, been busy with some things thats why have not been able to update the progress of work.
i did the kdp select and ran the promotion for 2 days
but when i check the report on sunday under promotion, it was saying 'no promotion

Also i check out the page of my book using the keyword.
typing the keyword on amazon and searching through it, i found my kindle on number 4
second keyword and my book was found on page 7

To check your sales n promotion downloads, click on reports on your dashboard then select "Month-to-Date Unit Sales". You'll see each book's performance for separate market places.

You are seeing no promotion probably because d promo had ended. Promotions start 8am Nigerian time on d chosen date and run for 24 hours. Eg, a 2 day promotion starts 8am Monday will end 8am Wednesday.

Formatting is the last thing you do after writing and editing your book in MS word.

The ordinary motivational book will not sell. I mean the type that is only about encouraging people. People are tired of being encouraged. What they want are solutions to their problems.
Go to amazon bestsellers,click on kindle then kindle ebooks.select d self help category and check the types of self-help books that are selling.

If you can't write, you can find people to write for you on freelance websites like elance n odesk. I am a good writer but I also outsource books because I can't do all d work by myself.

I completed and uploaded a book on Tuesday. Now I am working on d next. I ain't No expert yet, and haven't even made $100 yet, but I av to say this is d best passive income business out there. Google is your friend...do some research of your own.

I will keep posting here till I start earning my target of $6,000 a month. I know I will get there cos I won't stop writing. And it just takes that one golden book to sell 3,000 copies monthly for me to hit my target. There are about 7 billion people in the world...300 million people in my major market (America)...I am confident I can write a book that .0001% would love to read monthly.

I am putting up 10 books btw November to December and I am expecting more than $1000 from their immediate sales and more from residual sales afterward.

Congrats, but are you promoting it for just 2 days? I usually promote new books for 3 days. Anyhow let's see how it goes. it may work for you.
