@mk82,
when i wanted to register a payornee account, they asked for my

national identity card
PASSPORT
DRIVING LICECINSE

so can i use someones identity card?
bcus when i was oppening an account in firstbank last yr, they asked of my card and i brought my friends own, so ll payornee accept any card i brings to them, and if they accept it, ll it affect me in the long run?

Payoneer will not accept your friend's card. The name on your identity card must be the same with the name on your payoneer and KDP accounts. If there is any irregularity, you may have problems getting paid.
Make efforts to get a driver's licence. It takes just about 2 weeks in most states (it's only in Lagos that it takes several months).

Please help me out.
I tried to publish a book on Amazon Kindle market but I got a response that my account information is not Complete . I was then taken to a page to fill my bank account and my tax details.
I want to know if I can make sales on Amazon pending the time I will get A payooner account, and I want to know what I can do about the tax payment

Login to your account and click on the link to update account details (on the upper right hand corner). On the next page, you will be asked to fill tax details which basically includes your name, email and so on. You also have to indicate that you do not live in the United States and you are not doing business there. Choose individual as your designation or capacity. Agree to provide electronic signature then type your full name as signature... that is all. Save and you can then start publishing.

Hello house,
I have been following this thread closely. I took action the very first time I came across the thread after reading through all the pages, and I have published 2 books. Thanks to the OP who started this thread and to every other person who has made contributions in one way or the other. May God bless you all!
I have received my first royalty to my Payoneer account. Although it was small, it has encouraged me to work further and harder, knowing that a step in the right direction will pay off hugely. I am motivated by results and that I have seen in kindle publishing. Besides, this is my first time of earning online and I am so glad about it(I have tried many methods of making money online none has given me result). Though I am yet to receive the physical cash, waiting for it to accrue up to a certain amount so that I can order for my payoneer card through DHL.
Please, I'd like to know if this is normal. My accrued royalty on amazon.com market for a particular period was $38.51, Tax withholding became 11.51, and my Net earnings = 26.84 (I think the tax is too high)

I can't really understand this.
Gurus in the house, I need your help. Tax is too high. How do you go about this?
Thanks!
Sarahn:

There are a lot of websites on this
But the summary is:
Get an EIN tax id.
I'm afraid I have not tried it yet.
The process is long.
The information is conflicting.
And the IRS keeps changing their rules everyday.
But if you are a hardworker
unlike me smiley, you can google it and get the MOST UPDATED information on how to cut your amazon taxes in half.
Good Luck!

If you are a Nigerian living in Nigeria, there is nothing you can do about the 30% withholding tax. Nigeria does not have a tax treaty with America, Canada, Australia and other countries that collect 30% withholding tax. We only avoid tax in UK and other European marketplaces.
Getting an EIN tax ID is only useful for those from countries that have tax treaty with America.

My advice is to keep working hard and publish as many good books as you can. That is what I've been doing the past 2.5 years. When you make a lot of sales, you will still have a good income even with 30% tax.

Meanwhile thanks to everyone who has been keeping this thread active in my absence.

@mk82, please how do i know my book passed copyspace test. I pasted my book content and clicked search several links relating to my book came out, does that mean that it failed the copyspace test? Or what? Thank you in advance.
Your book failed the test if results came out. Rewrite the affected portions and test again. The aim is to see 'No results found'.

I am considering making my book available for preorder. What are your thoughts on this? What has been your experience?
I haven't had time to study preorders so I can't give an opinion now. I still use free promotions for my new books and also to stir up some of the old ones.

pls how do I handle the paragraph
I made a post on paragraphs previously but maybe it was lost when nairaland crashed. But anyway, here goes...

I use Times New Romans font at 12 points. I do not indent the beginning of my paragraphs. Each paragraph is left-justified. I live one space in-between successive paragraphs since I don't indent the beginnings.

etebefia: Please how much do you guys exchange dollar for naira at GTBank with payoneer, i went to withdraw at GTBank and surprisingly i was paid at the rate of $1 =#142, i thought $1 is between #160-162?
Payoneer charges $3.15 per ATM withdrawal. This means if you have $100, you can only withdraw $96.85 (if you withdraw it at once).
Ideally, at N163 per dollar, $96.85 should give you N15786.55.
However, we usually end up getting about N150 -151 per dollar.
I think some inter-bank ATM charges are being taken by the local bank.

Use Zenith bank next time, they have better rates than GTB. The lowest I've withdrawn from Zenith was N149 per dollar when the exchange rate was 158.
Note: These charges will affect you more if you are withdrawing small amounts because it is the same $3.15 (and other charges) that will be taken.

That's exactly where I went. This is what I got.

Alright. Go to payoneer home page, mouse over support center, then click "contact us". On the Contact Us page, scroll down to "Send a message to customer support" then click on "Click here to contact Customer Support".
Now, fill in your name, email and every other requested detail (make sure it is the same with what you used to register previously).
In the slot for Program/Partner, scroll down and choose "Other".
Under category, choose Account Applications.
Under subject, choose My Application Was Denied And I Am Requesting To Have It....

In the space for "Your question or comment", tell them you applied previously and was denied. That you publish eBooks with Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing and you are applying for the Payoneer card so you can receive your payments.
If you already have a book published on Amazon, include the link to the book.

***If this does not work, send a message to the gmail in my profile.

On a completely off topic, has anyone recently applied for a payonneer card?. I did an was rejected in an instant, I sent an email to their support and sent them the required documents in hope that my application would be reconsidered, 3 business days gone and no response. I am beginning to wonder if I signed up for the wrong service. It appears there is a difference between applying for a payonneer account and applying for a US payment service.
Anyways, I tried applying for the US payment service but was not allowed to because I had signed up already.
I just want to know where exactly I went wrong.
While I'm not disputing your experience, I've never heard of anyone not being able to sign up for payoneer.
You have to register for the payoneer card before being eligible for the US payment service.

To register, go to payoneer dot com and click on "Receive and Withdraw". I gave more details elsewhere in this thread.

Zico0: . You need a payoneer acct. It is a US acct. Just go to payoneer dot com and sign up. What you'll need for registration is a only a valid voter or national id card and an email address.
Me, i have registered for the account but they would not approve my application since 2 weeks now and i'm doubtful of the whole payoneer thing-whether it is open to Nigerians. And then there is part of sending a card from far far away America to my door step in Nigeria for free: where does that happen?
Hi Zico0,
Payoneer accepts Nigerians. Registration is with a drivers license, national ID and international passport. VOTER'S CARD IS NOT ACCEPTED. Approval is usually within 3 days if you supply the right information and identification.
Please don't spread your doubt to others. Many of us are using payoneer card to withdraw serious money every month.
They will send the card to you free even if you are in a remote village. You only pay a one-time fee of $29 for activation, 1% per electronic deposit to your account and $3.15 per withdrawal from Nigerian ATM.

gabriel74: When a buyer buy the book In Amazon, how is the product been delivered, is it by shipping like physical items or he is given a download link to download the book? Then if it is delivered as a physical items, does it mean amazon print out the content and the hard cover and send to buyer in form of hand out or what? Just wondering I never buy book from amazon before. Thanks waiting your feedback
Kindle books are ebooks and they are delivered electronically through direct download. They can be read on kindle readers, smartphones and computers.
If you want the print version of your book to be available, you have to register with createspace (another Amazon subsidiary).

The last time I used fiverr, payment was through PayPal. Nigerians can now open PayPal accounts so that shouldn't be a problem for you.

Zico0: please i have finished a manuscript of my first book. it has conservatively 10000 words. i intend to fix the price at $10 each.... it is my life time work. Before i have it typewritten i have some questions as: how can i get the service to design a cover and format my work and how does it work? what is the Payoneer card for, how much does it cost, and how do i get one?

Zico0: ok o no wahala. On the list of countries' bank accounts accepted, Nigeria is not listed. Somebody said kindle publish issues royalty by check,... how do i use such a check in Nigeria? Another strives for a payoneer card, is a payoneer account the alternative for Nigerians? Do i upload a copyright too or not?, if i have to consent to reproduction of my work at their discretion by the terms. If not, how do i prevent plagerism? Besides, does a Nigerian copyright apply in other countries? So many questions

1. $10 is not a good price on KDP. Books below $2.99 and above $9.99 get 35% royalty. Books between $2.99-$9.99 get 70% royalty. This is designed to prevent over- and under-pricing.
2. For the cover, you can use the simple cover designer inside KDP, you can hire someone on odesk or fiver or do it at a business center. Just a flat design in jpeg height to width ratio 1:6.
3. Amazon pays by check to Nigerians through post. However, the unreliability of our postal system makes this a bad choice. Payoneer operates a US payment system that enables you to get an American bank account for receiving your payment through EFT (electronic fund transfer). You will be given a Mastercard and you simply withdraw your cash here in Nigeria through Zenith or GTB ATMs.
4. You do not have to worry about plagiarism. Just insert a copyright statement at the beginning of your book.

I just did as you said still the same thing showing at the book page. At the top right hand side of the page, close to the title is written
"This title is not currently available for purchase".

The same book generated a few sales from the UK store.

Why is "pricing information not available" and "This title is not currently available for purchase" only displaying at the U.S store for my titles?

Go to your dashboard and click on "Edit Rights, Royalty and Pricing" for the book concerned. Check whether you selected "Worldwide rights - all territories". If it is not selected, select it and save to republish.
If it is selected, then you have to send an email to support to resolve the problem.

G12: Good day house, Please I am a little bit worried. I just noticed that my books have this "Pricing information not available" in the U.S Store. It seems my books are not up for sale there. Any idea about what I must have done wrong or what I did not do and how I can correct it?

Pls, help!
You have done nothing wrong and your book is on sale in the US marketplace.
Sometimes the pricing information does not show when you are on the display page of the book.
Copy the name of your book and search for it through the search box. You will see the price displayed alongside the name of the book in the search result.

Thank you for the info.
I have another question if you don‘t mind, what is the minimum number of words that can be written and what is the maximum?
thegoodjoehunt3: Anything above 2500 words is okay but it is about the quality of book that matters.
A long book filled with materials that are not needed could annoy customers. Or, short with points that are already known and contribute nothing.
As long as it is good information and well researched, it is okay.
2500 words is rather small if you want to produce a quality book that will satisfy your buyers. I go with a minimum of 5000 words and some of my books are more than 15000 words.
Kindle has become more competitive and you need to produce quality books if you want to make sales.
My suggestion is to check the size of the bestselling books in your target niche then produce similar quality/quantity.

Thank you very much for all the info you have placed here.
I have searched everywhere for kdp and this thread is the simplest amd most useful for kdp as far I am concerned.

As a newbie, I have a couple of questions. I hope you wouldn‘t mind,

How do you upload the inner cover of the book?
How do you use the kindle previewer to determine how the look inside preview of the book will look like? Thanks in advance.
1. You don't have to upload an inner cover. It is the same cover that you upload that amazon will use for the inner cover.
2. Use the previewer that is available when you are publishing your book. Once your cover and book file are uploaded, you will see where to click on the online previewer. This enables you to see how your book will look like when published. You can then see the cover and every other part of the book.

I actually followed the instruction on using the free version of CS but it does not work for me. Each time I entered the url of my blog and hit go, I get an error message saying (url too short, copyscape need at least 15 characters to work). Meanwhile, my blog url is more than 15 characters.

I don't want to just publish my rewriting book should it still have plagiarism issue to avoid an outright ban on Amazon because they've warn me before. July have just ended and I'm still yet to publish my first book. This is not good for me. I don't want to be hindered anymore.

Prof, pls don't be offended, I want to ask for a special favour from you. I want to opt in for copyscape premium but the means of paying for it is not readily available at time. So, I want to request that you help me make the payment and let pay you the equivalent in naira. This will enable me to get on board faster.

Let me know if this request is granted so I can forward my Copyscape account detail to you immediately.

Thank you.
The free copyscape should work. I know it works with blogger so I don't understand the problem you have. Maybe you should try it in another browser.
I will not be able to pay for you.
Note: If you can pay me in naira you can as well pay for yourself. Any good Nigerian bank debit card that works online will work on copyscape.

You will attract writers as long as your conditions are fair. Some jobs start getting applications within a few hours while some take a few days. It's dependent also on the availability of writers in the niche.
Compare your job post with others in the same category.

Kindle Unlimited, you mean.
It simply means books that are enrolled in kdp select will now be available for borrow to a larger number of readers. You can expect to make more money. Previously only Amazon Prime members could borrow books. Prime is available to only those who own kindle readers. Kindle Unlimited allows people with other devices (Android, IPhone, iPad etc) to borrow books.

juwoonn: Honestly, I'm having a big problem here; my April royalties in .com market was paid to my payoneer acct but the other market places were not paid and the bulk of my cash comes from the uk market.
I sent amazon a msg and they promised to get back to me on 9th of july, I waited and didn't see msg so I sent them a reminder on 11th and they replied thus;

"Hello,

I wanted to let you know that my colleague Jeelani's still researching the issue concerning your payment. It's taking longer than usual to resolve this, and I'm very sorry about the delay. She'll be in touch with you again with an update as soon as possible.

Thanks for your continued patience.

Regards,

Steve B.
Kindle Direct Publishing
http://kdp.amazon.com"

What could be taking them this long? Today is 17th.
Is it the first time you are being paid from those marketplaces? You may experience this type of payment delay when you are still new in the system. Once you have been put on the payment list, your money with start coming regularly.
It may also be that you did not add your US bank account on time. If that is the case, they would have initially put you on the list of people that are paid by check. When you change to EFT, they have to reconcile the records, and that can take some time.
Keep sending a reminder once a week. They are likely to add it to this month's payment.

It can sell if you write a concise guide that is straight to the point with a lot of good information. You could also focus on a very important sub topic in the niche.
It's wiser to use a female pen name for niches on women issues.

CosmicJames: I have to purchase some credit to use the Copyscape service? But I'm not ready to purchase the credit at this time. Is there no other option to Copyscape?

HOW TO USE FREE COPYSCAPE (Edited)
Note **The premium copyscape account is a necessity if you are really serious about online publishing. It gives you more results than the free version and is more convenient. 100 credits costs just $5 (about N800) and you need just about 3-5 per book. This means your N800 can last for up to 30 books.

However, Copyscape provides a free option that you can use if you cannot afford the premium account.
1. Go to .com and create a new blog.
2. Create a new post on this blog and paste the content of your book there. I advice copying not more than 3000 words per time for the best results.
3. Publish the blog post then copy the URL.
4. Go to copyscape.com and paste the URL in the provided space and click Go. Copyscape will do the check for you and display the results. You can only use this free test 10 times per URL every month. If you exceed this number, simply create another blog.
5. Also, the free version is limited to 10 results. If you have up to 10 results, make necessary corrections and test again.

**Delete the blog post when you are done.

That's all!
