babyosisi: That is where period of courtship comes in Nobody should marry a stranger and nobody should shut their eyes to what they see at courtship People don't hide their faults too long I have written it here numerous times, there is nothing about my husband that I wish I could change that crept up on me I saw the entire man at courtship Girls please date and court your future spouses and get to know them and decide what you can handle and what you cannot A psycho at courtship will be an ultra psycho in marriage best advice ever. Instead of spending half the courtship period figuring out how you will dance shoki on top of him and how glamorous your wedding day should be. Be attentive and discover more about the person you intend to spend the rest of your life with. And instead of looking for a replica of Miss World, who will beat your best friend's wife/ gf spend more time learning about your partners strengthens and flaws. |

Fhemmmy: She married you. Cooks for you Warm your bed Made your house Make your house be a home Yet, she has not worked? Bro, i hail you oh
You cant never pay a woman her true worth, never, pay her for carrying your child in her womb for 9 months and disfiguring her own cute body to make YOU a father, pay her for those sleepless nights that she is in pain in that labor room, pay her for those days she burns herself to cook your favorite meal and tell you if you have what it takes to pay her. . . . We as MEN dont have what it takes to pay them, so let us show them love and appreciate them. if you are married im guessing you live in a happy and peaceful home, if not i pray you find a woman who is as loving and understanding as you are. |

babyosisi: For those who care to be more analytical,go and dig into the stories of many of the murders,,majority of those men are underachieving Just like the one that hacked his banker wife into pieces in lagos sometime ago Perhaps it is time to warn the women about getting hooked up with underachieving men especially those you hardly know In this age of internet with info at your fingertips no woman should be deceived into marrying a man just because he is abroad Check him out Check out his credit history Bankruptcy records His marriage and divorce record His criminal records For a small fee you can find all these out ,get a trusted friend to pay that fee if you are in Nigeria and you get to know a little about the man Just because a man is in America or UK doesn't make him a good spouse
Date a man a while and know him before marrying him, that way you are likely to weed off undesirable men, these psychopaths and men With borderline personality Of course they will go on to marry someone else, but at least not you aunty if you dont hook up with an underachiever you will be called a gold digger, which ever route you take they will always be a name waiting for you at your destinaton. |

coogar: and the ones who are scared of prison life go the whole 9 yards to kill the wife, the kids and themselves.
they would rather be a dead man than let an obnoxious greedy wife walk away with their assets. so you feel its better to lose irreplacable human being lives than losing assets that can be regained when lost? |

mutter: Aisha please, the woman was married to perform the duties of a wife. To submit and love her husband, take care of his home and family. They live in a system where you have to consider if the pay you get is worth employing a nanny or paying for child care.
It is the duty of the woman to cook and do the house work and she can thank God when she has a man who helps her.
Why leave your duty to do something else? First cope with your assigned duties before venturing into others.
The main issue here is that the man and kid`s are suffering neglect and the woman is sending the money home to her family or building her own empire in Nigeria. Is that what the man married her for? lets say the woman sticks to her primary duties. Who and what will pay the bills if the man is not making enough to pay all the bills by himself? Na holy ghost abi? |

raumdeuter: Claim from where? Where can he claim from? The same court who took his partly paid for property and gave it to another person?
Stick to watching Osuofia and Patience Ozokwor you seem to know quite a whole lot about Osuafia and Patience Ozokwor. Do something intelligent with your life for once and pick a book on Unjustified Enrichment, before coming here to talk anyhow. When someone dies that's the end of it, you can always take a mortgage on another house. Sometime you wonder where black men place their priorities. Its sad even after 20yrs plus of school someone would place priority on replaceable property over the life of a human being. Clap for yourselves. She dies you rot in jail, your children will be too embarrassed to be associated with you, what will you have gained? Of what use will your ego be when you are locked up for life? |

Sophyrocks: Have women here not gone through worse in Nigeria? Did these women go on shooting spree like their male counterparts abroad? Please you are clearly justifying murder by constantly pointing at the women. I wonder what the views here would be if it were women doing the killing. No matter what a woman does to you, no matter how acidic her mouth is to you, you dnt commit MURDER madam!! You dnt!! stop with the justification!! funny enough these are the same scenarios that make it harder for earnest Nigerians to live and work abroad and yet some are here applauding and encouraging such things. The same people are the ones always complaining about stereotypes against them in foreign countries. I tire sef People supporting the same things that destroys them. How ironic. |

raumdeuter: If she continues to pay the mortgage, The wife gets a 100k property for a discounted price of 70k.
If she fails to pay the mortgage, she has nothing to lose but the man loses his initial 30k investment in the house
Thats the problem with Mgbekes like you, If an analogy isnt made with brazilian hair you wont understand there is something called unjustified enrichment, he can always claim for what he was imporverished by. My brazilian hair wearing self still has more common sense than you do! |
Family › Re: Concern As More Us-based Nigerians Murder Their Spouses by Moana(f): 1:14am On Feb 04, 2015 |
raumdeuter: Sorry you are the one who isnt applying common sense here
WHat happens to the initial 30% he has paid if the woman fails to pay the mortgage and the house is lost? THE BANK TAKES BACK THE HOUSE IF THE MORTAGAGE ISNT PAID OFF!!! neither the wife or the husband wins. THE BANK GETS IT ALL. Like i said apply common sense Did the 30% not cover the time he was staying in that house? so why act as if he was staying under a bridge the whole time he paid for the 30% for the woman and the children to enjoy the house by themselves? |
Family › Re: Concern As More Us-based Nigerians Murder Their Spouses by Moana(f): 1:09am On Feb 04, 2015 |
raumdeuter: Yes he has paid all his life savings into the 30% of the house and the payment he has been making on the car. He lost everything he doesnt have to be Dangote to lose everything
If all he has is $1,000 and he loses it to his greedy wife then he lost everything lets apply common sense he still owes 70% so there is no way he will lose it to the greedy woman because the same "greedy woman" will have to pay for the missing 70% otherwise the bank reposseses the house. The point you made hardly makes sense im sorry to say. No one gains anything from if it the 70% isnt paid off i guess you didnt think about that part. |

SirShymexx: Hence I asked the question cos human wants are insatiable.
However, what makes women an exception is that: majority of them have this sense of entitlement with the belief that they can do no longer. And cos you're the man, ya existence has to be about pleasing them and catering to them. But on the flip side, they also want equality and being being the "man." So, no matter how you look at it, you can't win no matter what you do, and the best you can do is just play ya part and do what's best for you.
Men aren't perfect - but women also need to start taking responsibilities for their own failures, and stop being all over the place. in other words its okay for a man to be imperfect and accept the fact that he has failed in some aspects whereas a woman is expected to take responsiblity and correct her imperfections right? |

aisha2: What happens here is what happens abroad.
Woman works with man to build a life, marries him poor, invests her money her youth her energy. Man hits it big, she suddenly isn't good enough, he throws her out and marries younger lover, she has nothing, old and tired she watches a younger woman enjoy the fruits of her labor and dies in misery and heart break.
Abroad, man hustles for years, makes enough money goes home picks a young " submissive" bride. They go abroad she sees the system goes crazy, kicks him out she doesn't need him, she earns a lot more, gets younger man, he is out in the cold, everything he works for gone with the wind, he is starting all over at 60 while pne young man is enjoying all he worked for all his life.
Its the same situation only difference is we hardly see headlines of " increase in rates of wives murdering their husband's " down here while the second one has loads of reports with people applauding and defending it i find it funny how many clueless people always take out the "western laws favour women" card to justify everything. You get a man who does not even know how to change a diaper, cook and pack a lunch box for a child, screaming give me custody of my children during divorce and you wonder to yourself what in the hell he wants to do with those kids when he cannot even cater for their basic needs. Let it be his mother or sister that dies the same way and see if he they will get up and applaud a job well done. |

mutter: The men married them because when before they got out they acted all humble or probably even where, but then their eyes opened. I see some when they come newly "sir, daddy" and after a few months, "useless man".
How does a man become the kind of man that commands respect? Every human being commands respect. In accordance with our tradition every man commands respect from every woman and men have a different status in society. Did the woman not take a vow to submit to him or better for worse? When you do the wine carrying why do you go down on your knees? Is that just a show, a body movement. It is a promise to the man made before your family and his that you would submit to the man and go down for him. The man does not have to command his respect it is your duty as his wife.
Divorcing them would mean loosing everything, even custody of the kid`s. That is how it functions. The man would loose everything he built up. He not only looses it but looses it to someone he built up who turned around to destroy him. madam this doesnt make sense at all because if you murder someone you end up in jail with children that will probably have to move from one foster home to another. So you thinks it makes far much more sense to murder someone and lose it all as opposed to just divorcing her, and fighting for custody when you are financially stable? You are the kind of women that will support stupi.dity. The day it happens to someone close to you, you will shout discrimination and domestic violence. how do you know that some of these issues dont start when the husband starts cheating on his wife who labours day and night to provide for them? |
