Hi All. I applied in Feb and went with the “keep my passport” option. I only just got an email to submit my passport last week and submitted on Monday. Does anyone have an idea of how long they would hold on to the passport before returning it please? I need my passport for an urgent trip. Anybody in the same situation or knows about this please? |

Hello Seniors I missed the passport request email earlier in the year and took good advice I got here to write them explaining the issue. They just got back to me after several emails saying I will be contacted on when to submit passports. Thing is my medicals were done on 6th Oct 2020. So do I need to be preemptive and go do medicals again or at least apply to do it or do I just wait. I ask because I think I read somewhere that they grant extensions for the medical certs or something, I’m not sure really. I would be grateful for any suggestions. 3 Likes

Hello All, I need help! AOR- October 2020. So I ordered gcms notes in June only to receive this morning and see that my application had been approved and the VO was Accra. I was surprised and confused as I check my cic profile and emails regularly. So i just did a keyword search for “Accra” in my mailbox only to discover that I had received a passport request email from the Accra office months ago and it was sitting in my junk folder with a 30day deadline to submit my passport. I need advise on the next steps please (I have sent a web form to the Accra office and sent an email). |

Hello good people. I am claiming sibling points and in the process of putting the documents together now, I just realized that the middle name on my passport is different from the middle name on my birth certificate. The is the same issue for my brother (middle name on PR card is different from middle name on birth cert) Problem is that our baptism names are our middle names on our passports and they are different from the middle names on the birth certs. We cannot find any documents relating to the baptism unfortunately. I have seen a few cases on the forum where people got 'one and the same affidavits' but I am confused as in our case, the middle names are completely different in both documents. My questions are; Do I swear this 'one and the same' affidavit and also explain the difference in names in my LOE? Or do I swear a change of name affidavit?(if this is a different document) Does my brother also have to swear an affidavit since I will be submitting both his PR card and birth cert as well? If yes, does he have to swear the affidavit there in canada or can I get him a document here in lagos? I would appreciate all the help I can get as I am totally confused. Thank you |

Hello Seniors, Did a second IELTS exam and I’ve been waiting for BC to send me the paper results for almost 2weeks now so I can fill in the Trf number and update my profile (I saw the online result about 2 weeks ago). Sent them an email to send the TRf number but they refused saying they don’t send such via email and I have to wait to receive the result. My question is, can I update the new scores on my profile using the old trf number? Or am I stuck with having to wait till whenever the result comes? This one that draws are few and far between, the wait is frustrating. I’d appreciate all the help I can get. |

ogbeniDM: I think you should remark the writing too man, what's the worst that could happen? Those 3 points, should you get them could be important. I had LSRW 8,8,7.5,8 the first time and was feeling cool on 474 before I lost 5 points and dropped to 469 . Did it again last week and had 9,8.5,9,7.5 and thankfully got 6 points back. I agree about the preparation part, i tell people that the exam itself isn't the problem, its the mental stress that comes with preparing and waiting for the damn exam. All the best with your remark mate! 8 Likes |

Hello Seniors, Did IELTS (BC) on 15th August and when I didn’t get a “notification of result” email last week I checked the portal and saw the results on Monday 24th. Sent an email immediately asking for TRF number so I could update my profile but I still haven’t heard back from them. Are there others also in this situation? Is there anything I can do to get the number as I am optimistic about the next round of invitations but I need to update the portal to stand a chance. |

Hello all, What happens if one receives ITA in a draw that falls on their birthday? Do you still lose 5 points? Although the draws have become unpredictable, going by the 2 week trend, there might be another one on 19th Aug which is the same day I turn a year older. I am currently on 474 and I'm preparing for and thinking of redoing the IELTS exam to max out this time. This is why I want to know if the ship has sailed and I will lose points on that day (whether or not ITA comes through) so I can just face my exam jeje or wait until that day to go ahead and pay for the exam. I will appreciate all the advice I can get. |

Dennyjuff: Hello All, I have been reading a couple of conflicting views about birth certificates for this process and I am not sure which one is correct. I plan to claim sibling points and we both have certificates issued at birth. My question is whether I still need to get an attestation from NPC as I have seen many comments advising this but I was of the opinion that one should go the attestation route only if they cannot provide a birth cert. My sibling's certificate looks pretty much the same as mine (same local govt issued at birth). I would appreciate help please.

Hello House. Is there anyone here trying to get UNILAG to send their transcript (either courier or email) to WES as well? They were supposed to send mine just before the lockdown and it appears the university has been closed since then. Does anyone know of any connections inside the school that can help as only God knows when they will reopen. I will appreciate any help I get about this. 1 Like |
