I think it is a good development for both candidates, El rufai doesn't want Sanni, but since it is direct primary, both of them should go out and test their popularity, it is better than the indirect primary where Elrufai can influence the delegates.

We have millions of Yorubas from Ogbomosho and Igbos born and raised in Jos, but not a single one has ever claimed that jos is theirs. So why would people from Kano, Katsina, Bornu, Bauchi go to Jos and tell the real owners that they should be allowed to rule any part of the state?

But base on Lagos standard and that of his predecessor, Ambode is nothing close to the best. The recent outcry against Ambode now is in comparison to his predecessor not Nigerians governor. U should know that Lagos is a country on his whole, the performance of Ambode so far can be better than the best Governor Abia have ever had for example, but base on Lagos standard it is no no. we are progressive.

A former member of the House of Representatives, Isah Ashiru, has been elected as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kaduna State.
The chairman of the PDP Governorship Primary Election Committee in the state, Phillip Aivoji, on Monday in Kaduna declared Mr Ashiru winner of the election with 1,330 votes.
He defeated three other contestants including former governor of the state, Mukhtar Ramalan-Yero, who had 36 votes.
A serving senator, Suleiman Hunkuyi scored 564 votes while Muhammad Sani-Sidi, former Director-General of National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, got 560 votes to come third during the primary.
Mr Aivoji who declared 39 votes invalid, said 2,654 delegates from the 23 local government areas of the state participated in the process.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Mr Ashiru had before the commencement of the election, secured the support of two aspirants, Jaafaru Sa’ad and Mohammed Bello-Umar, who dropped from the race.
Meanwhile, Mr Sani-Sidi who conceded defeat even before the votes were counted, had congratulated Mr Ashiru for the victory.
