Nairaland GeneralBlack American Gun Owners On A Peaceful March In Oklahoma City, USA by mojounited(op): 3:32pm On Jul 05, 2020
OKLAHOMA CITY – They will be arriving in peace, and hoping to carry a [strong] message.

Omar Chatman, 41, is one of the organizers for 1,000 brothers and sisters in arms, a pro-Second Amendment walk planned for Saturday led primarily by Black gun owners in Oklahoma.

The demonstration, which will begin at 2 p.m. at Ralph Ellison Memorial Library, is intended to bring attention to the fact that Black Americans’ constitutional rights to carry firearms are not often respected, Chatman said.

All are welcome to march in solidarity with the group, which expects between 200 and 300 people to attend in what they are saying will be a peaceful mile walk to the Governor's Mansion.

'When there’s some type of unrest': Americans are loading up on guns and ammo in the wake of race protests

“As an African American, it’s important to send a message to the governor and president that we aren’t going to allow people to come into our communities and brutalize us,” Chatman said. “That goes for corrupt police officers, white supremacists and criminals. Criminals have no color. It doesn’t matter if you are a Black man, white man, Asian or Hispanic.

“If you come into our community, know we are armed.”...

OOSmilling:
u r correct except ;
Glass industries at ogbor hill is now a moribund Company , there is no more production going on there . it is being used by Glass force at UMUEME Village as ware house. it is Glass force Umueme dat produce bottles for Nigeria brewery. im telling u dis cos i reside beside glass industries ogbor Hill. b4 dey stop production 2 years ago dey used to produce bottles for pharmaceutical industries not for beer or brewery. secondly, who told u dat power gas supply gas to Nigeria brewery? do u know dat power gas supply compressed gas. nigerian brewery have access to natural gas pipeline direct. infact most Companies in aba have access to natural gas from shell direct. there are gas pipelines everywhere in those industrial area in aba. it is one of those things dat attract some Companies to aba. ABA also have good water table. so, therefore POWER gas, mostly supply compressed gas to companies dat don't have access to shell pipelines, mostly outside aba, unless if their is problem on gas line, those companies can buy LPG for use on their oven.
Okay, Glass Force Industry. Perhaps that's why it is called "Glass Force Road?" just after 7Up road. Noted, thanks.

Yes, NGC Aba Gas Station supplies Natural Gas not Compressed NG, Power Gas Company supplies CNG. My initial post will be edited.

Hold up, are you talking about piped Natural Gas from NGC Gas Station to Aba Malting Plant only OR to others like NB Plc in Aba (the one close to Bata Junction)? I am very certain about Aba Malting Plant getting direct NG supply from NGC station. Ama and Awo Omamma use CNG 100%.

Seems you work(ed) and/or live(d) around that axis? You're correct, Aba has clean water. Na government them no get grin

The contrary, I think it's a worthwhile project. Nigeria has an abundance of gas and gas is badly needed to spur industrialization. This is part of the agenda since 2013 to link western, eastern and northern region through a gas code network. Everyone gets to benefit and no is left behind...
We have OB3 gas pipeline that will link the eastern and western region and AKK that will take gas from the eastern region to the northern region. Please don't view this as cheating or shortchanging a particular region. Everyone is carried along. The eastern region is replete with enough hydrocarbons to power the whole country to industrialization. This should be a welcome development...
Aptly put! cool
PoliticsRe: More Pipelines Arrive Kaduna Ahead Of The $2.8bn AKK Gas Project Ground Breaking by mojounited(m):
Please let's try and make reasonable and informed comments here. OB3 and AKK Pipeline Projects have been in the plan since 2013, before this administration. Oilserv handled the OB3 Pipeline project with a GTP stationed in Oben. OB3 and AKK Projects are purely about distribution of gas for more sales, industrialise the nation and stop flaring of gas in the ND (SS & SE) region. We can also lessen the demand and make petrol and diesel a lot cheaper if we start utilising more of CNG for trucks, generators and maybe Sedans and SUVs (Long term plan but very achievable). The lesser the demand, the lesser the cost.

Read more here: https://businessday.ng/energy/oilandgas/article/no-pipeline-ever-built-in-nigeria-measured-up-to-size-or-capacity-of-ob3/

For example, NG from Nigerian Gas Company, Aba Gas Station is piped and sent to:

1. Glass Company in Ogbor Hill (they manufacture all the beer bottles used by Nigerian Breweries Plc)

2. Aba Malting Plant (Nigerian Breweries Plc) in Ogbor Hill

3. Powergas Company in Ogbor Hill (they supply Compressed Natural Gas to Nigerian Breweries Plc Aba in Abia and Ama in Enugu, Awo Omamma in Imo States, etc)

4. PZ Company in Aba

5. 7Up Bottling Company in Ogbor Hill, Aba

6. Alaoji Power Station (TBC)

7. Many more..

We also have NGC Gas Stations in Delta, Rivers and Ikot Abasi in Akwa Ibom servicing the south too. There's even a Gas Central Processing Facility in Gbaran Ubie, Bayelsa State.

The point is, we are wasting a lot of gas through flaring in the SS and SE thus wasting our natural resources and severly damaging / impacting negatively to the environment. We still end up bearing the brunt, you know how and why? Firstly, because we inhale the black soot in Rivers/Delta States due to contamination of air caused by gas flaring. Secondly, no matter how much power we generate in the SS/SE region, it will be sent to the National Grid System and shared almost equally with every other state in the federation. Yes, the government needs to do more for SS and SE regions but

1. The gas we have and utilising now is wasting away through flaring and underutilisation.

2. More power stations can be powered by supplying this wasteful and underutilised gas to them.

3. More industries can be set up while existing ones can greatly benefit by the OB3 and AKK Pipeline projects.

4. The 3 tiers of government stand to make more money from all the gas sales

In summary, OB3 serves the purpose of taking excess gas supply to Lagos and by extension the SW. AKK does same to the North. In the end, Nigeria makes more money as a nation via sales, more power supply as more gas fired power plants are energised and SE and SE witness less contamination of air through flaring.

Michael Scofield for me. Prison Break seemed like a far more real account of events to me compared to Money Heist.

Imagine Tokyo riding motor bike past 50+ cops all firing at her but no single bullet could hit the target until she successfully got back inside the bank? Or do I even want to mention Aturo acting like a brave clown amongst armed men/women (Imagine being in a robbery incident of that kind / magnitude with T-Bag, Aturo would have been killed right from Season 1). So many things just didn't / don't add for me in Money Heist. I must admit it's a good tv show, but not just at par with Prison Break

'Only God' grin cheesy

This is beautiful. Udom is trying but we need more from him. Even before Covid-19, he never made attempt to employ more people into the state civil service, state university or polytechnic. His projects are also slow (judging from his first tenure)...

I admire him a lot being a technocrat but people are jobless and hungry mehn. Whatever needs to be done to expedite human capital development and job creation must be fast tracked asap.

This is what it means to walk the talk.Meanwhile, Nigeria is still waiting for Air Nigeria that Ahmed Sirika & Lai Mohammed made a lot of propaganda about.
I'm amazed at how serious AKS has taken the business of Aviation. The governemnt needs more investments in infrastructure, tourism and industries to create wealth, because it's one thing to fly into the state and another to not have anything doing besides 'chopping life'.

I hope they're serious doing something about job creation in other sectors...

From the link above, looks like it takes a great deal time, work and process for purchase, retrofitting to specific needs and delivery of an aircraft. I guess the order was made long before Covid-19 pandemic...
TravelIbom Air Takes Delivery Of 4th Aircraft Crj 900 To Expand Airfleet by mojounited(op):
IBOM AIR’S FLEET EXPANDS WITH THE DELIVERY OF 4TH CRJ 900

Ibom Air has taken delivery of the airline’s fourth Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft in Lagos. The aircraft arrived Lagos from Calgary, Canada at 10:48 pm local time, Tuesday evening (05 May, 2020).

We are very pleased to receive the first of our two recently purchased Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft, in line with our fleet expansion strategy. With this addition, our fleet grows to four aircraft. This particular aircraft, with registration number 5N-BXP, made its maiden commercial flight in May 2014 (just 6 years ago). Thus, Ibom Air continues to operate the lowest average fleet age amongst Nigeria’s airlines. This fleet strategy is in line with our vision to be a world-class African regional airline.

A key benefit of Ibom Air’s very modern fleet of Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft is that they all come fitted with High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters. HEPA filters are high-intensity filters that do not just filter dust, but effectively capture greater than 99% of the airborne microbes in the filtered air, including microscopic particles such as bacteria and viruses. Cabin air in HEPA equipped aircraft generally pass through the filters 20-30 times per hour, removing contaminants and greatly enhancing the quality of air in the cabin.

We thank the Hon. Minister of Aviation, the Federal Ministry of Aviation, the NCAA, NAMA, FAAN and the Akwa Ibom State Government, for making it possible for us to ferry in this aircraft during this period. Keeping it in Canada waiting for the Covid-19 pandemic to pass, would incur huge and unnecessary hard currency costs for us.

We also thank our numerous customers for their continued loyalty and assure them that Ibom Air is eagerly preparing to resume our superior services to them, once conditions allow for operations again.

Please continue to stay safe.

Signed Ibom Air management

They started by disputing NCDC's test result, now they're playing dirty politics and endangering lives of millions. NMA and other health professional bodies in the state jointly passed a vote of no confidence on the HC. Its saddening that there is a pandemic and the governor is taking sides with a politician against a seasoned health professional over serious public health matters.
Udom is lip gloss-wearing do-nothing governor. Is it not Katsina or Zamfara that bought about 30,000 test kits the other day?

Google strides made by Kenya (they've only recorded two or three deaths during the course of this pandemic) - they're developing their own unique test kits which is a dollar or less to test ALL THEIR CITIZENS, fabricating their own unique ventilators that actually work and researching on traditional herbs/medicine. Here in Nigeria, Leaders are exploiting loopholes to profit from the pandemic - embezzling cash and palliative.

What a sick country!
HealthRe: Coronavirus: Aniekeme Uwah Sacked For Refusing To Manipulate Test Figures by mojounited(m): 10:27pm On Apr 26, 2020
backbone503:
There were enough test kits, but the commissioner wanted only 10 samples to be sent (to NCDC), while Dr. Uwah suggested 31, on the premise that it will give a true picture of the Covid-19 status of the state. An argument ensued, and the commissioner said: "thats how you tested and tested till Akwa Ibom became No.1 in HIV". " other States are not sending samples, you want to send 31".

The commissioner needs to be reminded that human lives are directly involved here, and not no. of votes cast.
Interesting take. Someone I'm close to mentioned this too..

I think the state epidemiologist cannot be sacked or reassigned without the governor's consent. I believe the HC informed the governor who then authorised Uwah's removal. Why they are hell bent on minimising the number of cases in the state is beyond me - makes no sense.

You no deh use AC or Pump Water??
You have to understand that prepaid meter bills is directly proportional to availability of power supply and load/usage. So as light take dey, na him we dey use am (if you like load 100k, if you nor get light that month, your 100k remains, and since I don't stay home much/often, amount of usage is limited).

I do pump water every morning but limit AC usage. I share the prepaid meter with a neighbour (also a 2 bed apartment downstairs). We had a balance of 25kwh. Loaded 2k = 85kwh on 7th April, 2020, another 2k a week later. Today, I have 81.50kwh left and we're on the verge of loading another 2k which means 3k per person (from observation, we utilise approximately 10kwh per day or just above that). Do the maths and you'll find that it'll last up to 28 days... With more period of AC usage, that'll take it up to 4k per month per person.

I don't know how I ended up writing so much grin
