Born2berich: ![]() We're talking about illiquid stocks here, Sir. As in, ILLIQUID! The decision is largely yours, based on investment circumstances. You could put your price at - 10% and exit at a faster rate or put at -5% or - 7% or - 3% and find it difficult to exit the ILLIQUID stock. As for me o, I go even try - 15% sef I kukuma lose heavily and use the money sharperly in Transcorp or FBNH ![]() |
Elai147:Thanks boss. I remember the challenge on your famous saying. Perhaps the ogas understand your point, it's just the coinage and semantics that raises eye brows. Your quote makes it seem like there are some funds one can afford to lose or those in the stock market stand a high risk of losing money frequently. That was the disagreement then. I think the quote can be modified thus: "Don't trade with money budgeted for other things" OR "Don't trade with your life support " OR "Don't venture into the stock market if you don't know how to manage risks and failures" Hope one of these expressions captures your idea cc: passwelle |
myjoy08:"raw" is an understatement. ![]() |
Sokijosh:Did you say "dd with charts" Chai, the stock that will overwhelm your dd skills is currently doing push-ups ![]() And nor let pa emma himself catch you saying this. He will sit you down for a lifetime lecture ![]() BTW, if you really do charts, you should know some technical indicators that incorporate volume and how to use them. Using volume to predict price action also comes with experience... Each trade volume implies Buy and Sell and if you have been following a stock well, you will know how to interpret the trade volume. |
mercylicious:Unfortunately Ma'am, the stock market is a place where you learn largely from YOUR OWN experience. Even the master stockists do make mistakes, learn from them and move on. People may tell you this or that (like myjoy08 ) but after you put in your money, their good advice may have no effect on what you get. I would have loved to advise newbies to study GOOD books about investment before they start trading, but the truth is that those books only build one's confidence and grasp of the market; they don't guarantee that ALL your investment decisions will be right. Two pieces of advice I have for newbies, which have been said by other ogas on here, are these: 1. Don't invest money when you don't know ANYTHING about the stocks you want to buy. It's sad to see newbies say: "I have N200000, please advise me on what stocks to buy." 2. ONLY those who are in charge of ANY company have an idea of the potentials (profit or loss) of such company. You may read analyst reports, comments by experienced traders, financial sheets etc and think you're making the right choice...But still get your fingers burnt cos there's always MORE THAN YOU KNOW about any stock. You are only a COMMON/ORDINARY shareholder. People wey Oando don show pepper go understand the 2nd point well. ![]() |
myjoy08:Chai! I don too laugh today. In the voice of duni04: you guys are just clowns. ![]() @nitrogen, Born2berich, Dragonking, Michael11stock... Chai...you don pinish myjoy08 today. In fact, some times I wonder what I will do myjoy08 if I catch him walking in Ikoyi... ![]() @Oga Agbalowomeri: Some monkey feels trapped. He has even been tagged "Analyst aiyeraye" Are you gonna remain silent Speak if you can! ![]() |
When FAITH, as it were in religious circles, is brought into the stock market, then we have sound recipe for dashed hopes and sleepless nights. Audacious statements by monkey hunters and their cronies rarely have implications on the overall direction of the market. In times like this - Earnings season - when all has been said and done (forecasts and shockers), what is left is for ORDINARY shareholders ( ) is to return to base:Are you a trader? DUMP any stock whose Corporate action failed you. No time to start whining about some notorious CEO and what they did/didn't use shareholders money for, save for comic relief. Are you a long 'termer'? STICK with stocks that have a solid history and management. Don't allow the emotions being "shared" by JIJO folks make you panic-sell. Best wishes NSEMPA. |
Aks:Is oga Aks also among the prophets? Abeg, nor be me talk am o, na 1st Samuel 10:11 ![]() |
Born2berich:Oga m, biko don't wake up the gods! Kudos to all the ogas posting Corporate actions on here. Please, do assist in slotting in the current price ( ) of the stocks. It might save someone the stress of searching for the quote...cc: myjoy08 |

zendi:Chai ![]() Poet zendi so you wicked small Grandpapa of jokes kwa. I remember when the ad was last posted. NSEMPA has little patience for stuffs like this.@taiwoliu: NSEMPA is the title of this thread. Your question was asked and answered some 3-5 pages away. Please settle down and read as many pages of this thread as you can, then you'll blend well (provided that you're not one of those who just gate-crash and miss thereafter) WARNING: This thread can be addictive! |
The stock market often defies a natural law: "It is easier to destroy than to build". It took the NSEASI over 8 months to pare 17% of it's value, but it was pretty easy to build back just within a few days... under the influence of "grandpapa bull". Any smart trader knows how to Profit From Prices and make the most of tides. @NSEMPA: Please, what's ft.com saying about Jagaban this Easter Monday? Abeg, whoever get full subscription make dem help a BiTL, biko! |
Dragonking:Wetin these Bulls go cause ehn! Na to dey push spammers comot for road remain now... Especially those wey no be BnSitL. ![]() |
Agbalowomeri:Nde Elliotist kwa! Anything to keep the bull running will do. ![]() @Franklinrich and Krisuba: The much-publicized "grandpapa bear" and the pRoPhEt himself are largely at large. And this has certainly made me more curious about prophecies including one I found today: The Auchi-based prophet claimed that "the Presidential election will be inconclusive, yet Jonathan will be declared winner". #Wetin prophecies go cause ehn! ![]() |
Agbalowomeri: ![]() BTW, Baba Agba, the inventors of the term "vision 2020" covertly parted ways with it sometime in the last quarter of 2014. Ex-minister Frank Nweke Jr. was their medium of information. Further, the electorate seems to be ridiculing audacity of Transformation. @B2BR: Let's await the Transcorp magic or disappointment. |
600% @Oga Born2berich: Wetin this kind figure go cause ehn! ![]() |
@Sokijosh If you feel threatened that NSEMPA will catch-up with whatever thread you love, then Moneysage can't help you. You may quote whoever you wish to, but you don't have to be too desperate about publicizing a thread,as your antecedents on this burgeoning thread have shown. Best wishes in your efforts. May you gain more diligence regarding social media issues. |
currentprice:Sincerely, bro. Passwelle popularized the art of JIJO on this thread. I can bet he made a fortune from ACCESS and Oxygen. What's more? He was a fine man during his active days here: No squabbles, just business for the sake of business. The last time I checked him out, seems he had pitched his tent in the politics section of NL. #moregracePW |
"enfranchise", "enfranchisement", "disenfranchisement", "disenfranchise". Politicians, journalists, and laymen have used these words for over 400 years, yet everyone seems to be comfortable with the HUGENESS of these expressions. Personally, I don't like using these terms and I really desire CHANGE. ![]() Hey, if you're like me and you are tired of BOGUS VERBOSITY, abeg make we use our PVC do them 'strong thing' today. #simplysatiric |
myjoy08:Very well, bro. 'twas an isolated post I thought was referring to div yield. Please, pardon my quote. Have a profitable business day. |
myjoy08:So 10 Kobo is what oga mi myjoy08 was prophesying as loot Whoever bought UBA based on your enthusiasm about the unseen results should be biting their fingers now. Fast forward to 26/03/2015: You expected them to pay 30-40 Kobo dividend. ![]() Anyway, you often tell newbies to do their DD. |
Kagame:@President Kagame: Yeah, sounds odd; but this is the way we roll on NSEMPA and we have been taking the ministry to the permanent site. We started from page 0; we're now at 690. We're BnSitL... People who can't blend to our style hardly last long on this thread. Prove: If you check the last 200 pages, you will find the same monikers over and over... Many new folks just holiday and miss! |
kotlass:Did you say "smiles" when I was practically ROTFL? In fact, oga immanuelo don make me laff tear my trousers this night. (no pictures available, though) ![]() |

Chai! See as acid full everywhere!! PRoPhEt chibu don suffer o. ![]() @Bishop Ihedioranma: Nwannem nwoke wey make sense! Let me welcome you (shine teeth) properly as per BnSitL : ![]() On a market note: Most of the tickers that did show green today were marked by trade volumes much lesser than past few weeks. If this is a sign of manipulation by the market makers to lure investors (what oga Agba may choose to call bull trap), I don't know; but what I do know is that most coys have already touched their 52-week low and may not breach that base this week. What does all this mean HOLD if you can or JI if you can JO in time. |
We need to distinguish TECHNICAL errors from HUMAN malpractice. No 21st century Nigerian with understanding of how machines work will ditch a bank/broker because "our system is slow", but a fin institution can be flaked if you their staff or operations insult your humanity. I first smelt a rat when, after calling MC severally, the officer who finally received the call said: "Sorry Sir, don't mind those guys joor." You mean a firm that employed someone who spoke this way will be efficient in handling the customer challenges of stockbroking ![]() @carpenter: I love your spirit, especially your maturity and patience with MC. @Processor01: Valid points. Maybe you shouldn't have mentioned that Amala joint in your post. Let's have mercy, 'cause other innocent people may be reading our posts. |
cadno:Chai ![]() That last line, though. |
@stockbull: Thanks for lending your pen to the existential conundrum. "All that evil needs to triumph is for good to nothing". Now, that the boss himself has done something, I hope that the concerned fellow mellows. @megainvest: I love your style. Your smoothness can drag one into the stock market even after a heavy loss. ![]() |
As the election fever wades into stocks, Pa Ihedi himself (the Lord Bishop of NSEMPA) was sighted at Hogbonou and Adjace. What a sight it was! The young old man clearly has other interests there. ![]() |

Chai, the stock that will overwhelm your dd skills is currently doing push-ups
