Englandboy:Because your age influences the type of advice or type of treatment you can get. Anyway you cannot get permanent low Testosterone because of Masturbation. Did you go for any blood test to measure your Testosterone (Total and Free), Estrogen, SHBG and LH levels before diagnosing yourself with low T ? |
Do you stutter ? And how is it now ? |
Englandboy:How old are you ? |
Please pm me if you're down to network, you know the industry and the job market. I have a couple questions, and I could share one or two. |
Has anyone received a job offer ? Or is this just resume and email farming for an employment agency |
Sorry this might be a contrary opinion but there’s a reason DS&A is usually a second year course in most structured Uni CS programs. It’s because you need a decent knowledge of a simple high level language (Python), low level language (usually C) and the difference between data structures implementations at both levels to be able to understand the trade offs you’ll be learning about. You also need the maths background to understand the simplicity of the discrete maths, graph and number theory algebras you’ll be using. The prereqs for those are usually Calculus, Stats and Linear algebra. (CLRS is the standard here) Why you need a decent maths background ? You’ll be able to explain what’s happening under the hood even if you’re wrong. For example, you’ll know if the functions starting to look like a series it can probably be done with a O(log(n)) solution. Or if you’re using too many iterations or loops that’s a O(n) solution. Or the difference between even O(n) and o(n).Now you might argue that you could know these as a beginner, yeah you could memorize but how long before it becomes an headache and you become demotivated. You don’t have to study the whole curriculum or learn it in-depth, but you need to have a working knowledge or a layman’s understanding of the complexities before you even attempt the leetcode or hackerrank of this world. That’s where I find Grokking Algorthms good. That’s why a comprehensive algorithm course is 6 months tops and you mainly write in pseudo codes. It’s assumed your prior programming and maths experience would make you understand the logics and reasonings quickly. My advise don’t actively think about DS&A until you can implement basic data structures using a high level language, and you’ll need at least a year of playing around with the language to get to that level or to even understand the beauty of what you’re working with. And when you start - plan to understand the basics in 3 months tops, spend the next three or so actively using it for job interviews because it’s easy to get burnt out fasttttas it’s mentally tasking PLUS when you get in the industry most of that thinking is already done or would be done by higher level architects in the organization. |
airsaylongcome:Dude I am in Nigeria trying to make it out here as an entrepreneur lol. I didn't take offence to your original Pidgin English. All I said is you could've just advised him and we could do better as a community. "Someone owns his time and effort and is asking how much he should sell it and you are mouthing off at me for pointing out the folly of his question? If I host on AWS and bill my customers by the hour in USD does whatever figure I give him in anyway help him? You criticised me for "not helping" but in the end after your epistle you still didn't tell him a figure which is what he originally asked" This was what I had time for. You can see you pointed out his question was foolish there. You also made a big deal of the fact that I didn't mention a figure, even though that was intentional as I later pointed out. I didn't spoon feed the dude but I answered him and he actually reached out to me. That was the only reason I replied you. If you had said anything else but that, I would've rightfully apologized for singling out your post and then let you know why I singled out your post. Now for tech acumen, dude you brought AWS hosting and USD billing and all those other complications to a newbie question ... |
airsaylongcome:So you didn't bring AWS and charging in USD up ? Or you've not gone around using big grammer nitpicking at my metaphors ? If you feel like it's bragging ? I can't help you man but those things don't move me. I can see how you can perceive it as bragging instead of just online identification. Now for what it's worth I completed my secondary education in England, got a scholarship to study in Canada and turned down USA because of the obvious . So I only mentioned what you've been nitpicking at to put some context behind the post. I've never brought it up on this forum and I won't go down that tunnel with you. HAHAHAHA Ryerson dude I haven't kept tabs on Canadian Unis in a while but please put some respect on my name ![]() Now back to the cause of all this, only reason I called you out was because you're normally helpful to newbies on here and I saw that the dude was needing genuine help. I thought it was not too nice that you dismissed it as foolish. I am actually helping the dude out now, so no need to continue this .. you can have the last word if you want to. |
airsaylongcome:Dude don't distract from the conversation. I attacked your response, so trust me I expected a rebuttal. But your rebuttal didn't make sense, and I knew you were gonna try to flex your 'tech acumen' so I made sure to nip that aswell But you're going to resort to name calling instead of using logic ... HAHAHA Have a blessed night brother |
airsaylongcome:Actually chill the Bleep out man. I was going to say 200K but then I realized that was relative and I assumed he's just starting out hence the question. So I told him factors he should consider when costing, what he should do to retain customers and then to reach out to me personally where we could take the discussion from there. Is it because I didn't spoon feed him the answer ?? ![]() What the heck did you do again, beside calling the question foolish If you want this to be a dick measuring contest you better come prepared or go get skull bleeped or something. And for what it's worth I stay lowkey here but I studied CS at a Canadian equivalent of an Ivy League Uni so you better come correct. Da fuq |
airsaylongcome:Dude chillax. If this is what it takes to get you rilled up. Mehn idk |
classicben3:Is that all ? |
airsaylongcome:If you wanted to help, you would have asked and showed him the way instead of attempting to ridicule his ‘naiveness’. We need to do better as a community mehn. |
classicben3:What kind of poverty mentality is this ? Something as basic as this and you’re expecting something to be in for you ? Haba |
Dude sorry for the circle jerking, especially by people who should be willing to help a newbie. You should charge depending on your skill set but at the least enough to cover hosting, domain name etc for a year plus about about two weeks of your time. If you’re still developing your portfolio, charge enough to live comfortably within those two weeks and over deliver so you can get referrals. I would also advise you to use a site builder, they are good for jobs like this where the client is not really tech savvy, plus it’s frees up your time to keep developing your skills. Feel free to contact me if you have more questions. |
obstead200:You my friend are stupid. Have a blessed day. Pray to God to improve your logic, while you’re at it get better education today. |
Aremson14:Look up what blasphemy means, Look up examples of blasphemy in the Bible, Look up examples of blasphemy in the secular world, think about the intention behind the post now look at your reaction ? Consume contents to expand your knowledge not to get annoyed Abeg. If the first emotion that you had was anger, and then you associated the image with blasphemy. Then my brother you are long gone. Nigeria’s education and economy has failed you. But you also failed yourself. |
obstead200:Honestly the Grammar is not necessary. APCON is useless and Nigerians for the most part are stupid, taxpayers money is spent on this rubbish and naive gullible people are bringing up irrelevant conjectures. Would you have the same opinion if a Bakery posted this ? Read about Charlie Hebdo or other actual cases of humor done in bad taste before flexing irrelevant English and inciting unneeded hate.(FWIW it’s Islamophobia for assuming Islam would spill blood for it) Mehn we at war with our minds, too many misdirected rage in this country. A flyer you should ordinarily just laugh and forget the bad joke. |
Kingosytex:Poor education and or bad reading comprehension, but often times a combination of both. matm:Any direct unclean connotation was in the Old Testament and if you were to practice it fully, you wouldn’t even be in the same room as a menstruatinf woman. Clearly unpractical. And the issue of the woman with the flow, this woman had been menstruating for 12 years on end so it wasn’t normal. Hence, the reason Jesus felt it and made a point of it. And the period wasn’t even the subject of that story smh. It’s obvious you missed that what she essentially said was that don’t use your wife’s period (unclean) for (poorly educated people, or religiously brainwashed people) as an excuse to engage in extramarital affairs and catch aids. You can even wrap up if discharge, safety and hygiene is a problem. And for what it’s worth, period sex could literally be a drop of blood. And this person is also supposed to be your wife. Dude get off your moral high horse. |
pyro62:So many people lack comprehension in this Nigeria sha. Someone made a valid point about how the main difference between the pics is the workout pump and how the physique in the after picture won’t look much different from the before pic 2 hours later. And people are boldly calling him out like he’s wrong .. bringing tattoo, shorts and other non related things up |
Infomaz:And an average night/day in Night Clubs doesn't ? ![]() So you spend 100% of your day thinking on noble, good and virtuous things only ? ![]() Bleep outta here man with this hypocritical rubbish |
Honeysweetest:Coz the both of you could be hot as Bleep and you want to see what you look like while engaging in the activity ? Coz it's a long distance relationship and they want to spice up the marriage ? Because they are secure in their sexuality and the security of the clip not to get exposed ? Being sane, legal, or married has no influence on recording sexual activities. Recording sex is literally a choice based on your lifestyle or exposure, just like you have people recording their daily lives, activities, workouts etc |
If you have the mental capacity of a baby, and you cannot see anything remotely sexually without turning into a feral savage then pornography is a sin, if not then congratulations you are modern human with healthy hormones and good self restraint. Now addiction to watching porn is a sin (it impacts wellbeing and other things), so with all other addictions. A sin to me is what negatively affects my faith and the faith of people around me. But honestly sin is very subjective and personal, and your definition of Sin influences how you see it. A sperm donor watching porn in a clinic to aid ejaculation, is that a sin ? Newly weds / older mature couple watching porn to spice up their marriages, is that a sin ? A Russian drinking gin as a mid day pick me up, is that a sin ? There's no absolute right answer, except the one that works for your faith. |
I am in for making this community have willing member(s) as moderator(s). Honestly that's the barest minimum, are there currently any moderators ? |
Rgade:Why’s that ? |
https://www.codewars.com/kata/52c31f8e6605bcc646000082/train/python Write a function that takes an array of numbers (integers for the tests) and a target number. It should find two different items in the array that, when added together, give the target value. The indices of these items should then be returned in a tuple like so: (index1, index2). twoSum [1, 2, 3] 4 === (0, 2) My initial solution: def two_sum(numbers, target): |
https://www.codewars.com/kata/525f50e3b73515a6db000b83/train/python Write a function that accepts an array of 10 integers (between 0 and 9), that returns a string of those numbers in the form of a phone number. create_phone_number([1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0]) # => returns "(123) 456-7890" Solution: def create_phone_number(n): Alternate Solution: This is taking advantage of the fact that the asterick '*' can be used to unpack elements of an iterable as arguments in a function call. def create_phone_number(n): |
BRATISLAVA:It’s either you want to fight or you want to take me out to lunch so I can explain better. But in a decent tech company recruitment is primarily done/scrutinized by experienced developers - they make time to interview you, test for soft skills, recommend you to the HR. They’re the ones who know what they need. So if I have say on a project I would be on the recruitment team. So if you’re trying to imply that am I HR, heck no I am not HR but that doesn’t really apply to the industry we are talking about. |
airsaylongcome:Bro not about that o. Did you miss all the policies I mentioned or aren’t you active in the Nigerian tech scene .... most things are female focused so it’s logical recruitment would be. Jeez. And even those things you alluded to .. compared to other industries in Nigeria I would bet it’s less prominent in the tech space .. |
BRATISLAVA:Your adjectives are interesting, interesting coz I was the one that diffused the situation ![]() I didn’t think I had to explain but I don’t need to know the yardstick for recruitment if they’re my colleagues, I’m a labourer I don’t need to know what the recruiter asked if they employ another labourer, I would know their skill level and the average expectations in the position. Replace labourer with any other related position. |
airsaylongcome:It’s fine bro, why I said I don’t see the parallels is that in one field there’s active push for female participants (software companies do major PR to appear female friendly look at the PR when there’s a female C level hire or a female founded firm) in the other there’s no active push, also the health industry is old, established and regulated, you need a licence to practise, the scrutiny in the tech industry isn’t quite the same. I could go on and on, but hope you get the drift ? And if you followed my spiel, I was talking about the Nigerian space and how decisions when making the final decision are influenced by the various policies in place. |
. So I only mentioned what you've been nitpicking at to put some context behind the post. I've never brought it up on this forum and I won't go down that tunnel with you.
