Travel / Re: Canada Or Germany, Which Country Is Better? by monique2002(f): 9:35pm On Apr 28, 2019 |
I personally think one of the obstacles we Nigerians commonize is learning Deutsche. Depending on your career field, you need to be fluent! before thinking of ways to advance your career in Germany. I know friends in Germany that studied in the IT field, engineering and were able to get a job in their field. I also know of friends who struggled to get cleaning jobs and it was war (me inclusive). After living in Germany for 5 years, i adviced myself to move. Less than a year in Canada, i was able to get a federal government job in an organisation equivalent to German Finanzamt. So, i think deciding to move to Germany should be dependent on your career path. Those in the IT and engineering field will have a better chance as it is in demand. Also if you are into research too i think. Anything else, please just go to study for the cheap education and move somewhere else to practice. 8 Likes |

For all those interested in studying in Germany, sorry for not responding. I do not know how to delete the thread. I no longer live in Germany, but migrated to Canada permanently. No messages please about student applications/visas. Thanks! 2 Likes |

Hey guys, I have a question. So, a friend of mine is in the express entry pool and she will likely get ITA in the next draw...Now the issue is, she was denied UK visa (her agent used 'dagbo' documents) some years back. But since then, she has travelled to other European countries and even the USA. I told her to declare the UK visa issue and just attach an LOE.. .but u know we Nigerians with our supposed 'smartness'...people are advising her otherwise. So I said I will ask the opinion of nairalanders and others that have faced this similar issue. So...advice anyone? |

ama4god: I think you should use WES, they are taking a bit longer these days, but at least the school is familiar with them.. But you should go to xams nd records when they need confirmation though, to make the process faster |

ama4god: I used WES... You are using IQAS? Exams and records had like several hard cover long books with names of people they are sending their transcripts to WES. |

40manlappy: Thanks ooo...it has been a long and silent wait. I was not even expecting a draw today...'e be like film trick for my eye'. I thank all the gurus in the house that answered so many and often repetitive questions. I personally did not ask a question, just read the thread from page 0 and followed instructions.. I also silently followed the Canadian visa thread on another site that is very extensive... I hope scores go down further for people below the 470's. 1 Like |

JesusDWay: He still will not get a crs score of 450. I'm younger than 30, 3 years working experience, ielts L,R,S all Clb level 10 while my W is Clb level 9. With just my Bsc, my Crs score is 438. Even if I got clb level 10 in Writing, it still would ve been 441. I'll be defending my Masters theses in April and would be adding the certificate... I suggest he gets a 1 yr Master course or something close, if he's got time before hez 30. 3 Likes |

johhnnie: Oga please don't be gullible...ESL teachers in South Korea are mainly picked from USA,UK,Canada and Australia... It is quite difficult for any other ethnicity to break into. Also you need a certification. Except he's going to provide employment in all those shady 'goshiwon' (private lessons).. YOUTUBE is your friend, you will discover other teachers in SK....I neva see any African..how much more a Nigerian as an ESL teacher ..Abeg make dem no scam una. 1 Like |

macof: U will have a HUGE advantage, especially when u r goin there to hustle. U will also be offered free German classes by d skul, bt sometimes u might not be fully able to commit to ït, coupled wit ur skul work nd ur serious calculating on how to network for hustling. So ït depends on what ur goal ïn going there z all abt. i personally did not learn nd when i got to Germany, i had 'blocked classes' from 8am to 6pm, i was unable to attend d free classes. Ït limited my job scope, cuz i had to select jobs nd most job centres u go to registr 4 work, d 1st thing asked is if u understand a little German. Bt jobs dey shaaa! If u no sabi d lang, only say u go dey select, instead of picking one sharply. 8 Likes |

He might be surprised at their response, he could also include his transcript to these emails. My MSC program admitted people wit no science background, for a course that needed basic knowldge of science and envi sci, just because of their career interest and their well crafted letter. Germans are pretty open minded. So, he could be lucky, only need to try. |
