If you work in a big organization, you will more than likely have a room where access is not only restricted but the ACs are always on to ensure the servers are cool at any given time. It is in situations like that you hear of terms like server rack, expansion, backup, and other terminologies IT experts used between themselves.

Cloud Computing
There are those who argue that a server can be in the cloud. That is true to an extent, after all, we all use email services like yahoo, google and other enterprise solutions like Oracle, SAP and database services like MySQL and these applications will not be able to store our data if they were not holding them for us. Can you have a database without a server?
Yes, we all have some sort of database or the other. When we want to fetch the phone number of a friend from our phones we access the contacts database on our phone.
