In your initial post, you were seeking for Programming language you will be encountering during your course as Electrical & Electronic Eng. Student.The possible languages have been listed and some of the links provided. Paying attention to electronics as cripnip advised at this stage, I think would make you not mastering the languages listed due to time and distraction.

If you want to get a feel of courses you be doing in the Uni, you can study every possible courses suggested so far. However, if you want to master the programming languages you will be encountering in Uni, then concentrate on the one listed so far and get full grasp of them before Uni.

cripnip: if you'd read my post you'll see i did programming. in my school, everyone in the class did all the courses. no branching to any special field.

for your goal, pay attention to electronics: diodes, fet, bjt, mosfet etc. buy that book by donald neamen and get familiar with ic's and their data sheets

cripnip: About specialisation, hmmm. There is power, electronics, communications etc but i'm not too sure. As you may deduce, i didn't really do any of the traditional areas. My project was programming along somewhat social lines! My supervisor was a younger guy, if it was one of the old profs, they wouldn't have ok'd it.

In a 9ja uni (i also attended a fed one), they don't really focus on programming. All you need is
-Maths: Engineering Maths (buy the Green cover if you didn't do further maths in sec sch but the Advanced which is Red is a must. I bought a Kreyzig though)
-Electrical: very eat book by an indian: Theraja. It's like the EEE bible (if you don't want to look like a medical student, go for Hughes like I did)
-Electronics: you might want to be careful here as this is the closest of the traditional to programming. I used a book by Donald Neamen.

You'll hardly do real programming except you find a way to do i project in it (i wanted to do something about gsm and gps but i counted the cost and turned from it).

I'm assuming you're just starting or perhaps in yr 2. Another tip is watch out for those mechanical eng courses: fluid mech and thermodynamics. They have a way of reducing gpa

Thanks Bro. Actually i am just about to gain admission, so i want to be exceptionally good in EEE and my area of choice is either Communication,Electronic Design or Electronics and comp. hard ware.

cripnip: Are you doing the degree here in Nigeria? When I did mine, I was taught BASIC, FORTRAN, a little MATLAB which in my opinion are old, old and narrow. If you're doing it in a private school, you'll be taught newer languages. For me, I on my own learnt BASIC then VB6 then eventually VB.NET which I used to do my project. Also learnt C++ which helped in MATLAB (using it to model also those maths equations) as all curly bracket languages are similar

Am doing the degree here in Nigeria and it's gonna be a Federal Uni. and that's why i wanna learn them on my own to improve my standards. Please i want you to give me more advise and insight and also name of current Books, their Authors and editions that i can buy and also Ebooks i can download and their sites,.

If i may ask, what field are you specialized?

spikes C: for me, i did say yes. But it depends, you need to learn embedded programming cos that is the most of what EEE is comprised of. But surely, it is not a must. My brother studied EEE in Nigeria, they were not required to learn programming, but when he started his masters in UK on mobile blah blah something something, they are being taught programming languages, highly advanced ones o.

Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers killed 27 persons including a policeman on Monday in Dangulbi and other villages in the Dansadau Emirate of Zamfara State, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

An eyewitness, Alhaji Lawalli Dangulbi, who spoke to reporters at the Gusau Specialist Hospital, said there was pandemonium in the village when the robbers struck.

He said the assailants shot sporadically, killing 18 persons instantly.

However, another source said the hoodlums slit some of the residents’ throats and shot others.

“They went door-to-door shooting villagers and in some cases slitting their throats with knives,” a police source told AFP on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak publicly.

The gruesome raids by a gang said to be made up of about 80 people on motorbikes occurred in the dead of night.

Danguibi, an All Nigeria Peoples Party chief, said the other dead bodies were discovered in neighbouring villages of Biya, Guru and Sabuwar Kasuwa.

He said he managed to carry eight wounded persons from the scene of the attack which, he said, was over 100 kilometres from the state capital, Gusau for treatment.

A large number of people were also wounded, including a policeman.

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mr Usman Gwary, was however, not available for comments.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sanusi Amiru, confirmed the incident but refused to give further details.

NAN learnt that the attack might be a reprisal for an earlier ambush on the criminals’ enclave in the emirate by security officials and vigilance groups.

The attackers reportedly, did not take anything from their victims during the attack.

In October 2011, armed bandits raided Lingyado village in Zamfara state, killing 19 people in reprisals over the killing of fellow gang members by local vigilantes with the aid of villagers.

In January, armed robbers killed 15 traders returning from a market in neighbouring Katsina State and burnt their bodies along with the truck they were driving in an ambush near the town of Birnin-Magaji in Zamfara State.

An impeccable source revealed to SportingLife that the ban extends to officials of the team whom the "Big Boss" believes must lead by example at all times.

"We leave our handsets in our rooms anytime we go to eat, whether it is lunch, breakfast or dinner. It is a taboo to be found with your handset while eating and if caught you can be punished by the appropriate officers. It is that serious and no one is taking it for granted," said the official.

Keshi, an ex-international and longest serving captain of the national team believes, players must display etiquette at all times.

Furthermore no member of the team is allowed to converse while eating.

"You would recall that the coach had banned the wearing of earrings and sagging of trousers when in camp," added the official.

ayogabriel: It is caused by different things, and the one am familiar with are, eating late, intake of too much alcohol and it could be hereditary as well. Am not a doctor but I read this online as well. If its about eating late, if u must eat at night eat like 6pm to 7pm, that's the ideal time for dinner and no heavy food. Well for exercise they are loads of that you can do, sit is one and u can check online for different exercise. My gf as well complains everyday that am forced to work on it. God luck

But what i need i someone who can give tips on the kind of exercise i can do to reduce belly fat and also the ideal food to take in other not to add more than excess fat.

So please does any one know the kind of exercise i need to do and FOODS i need to eat to get a totally flat belly or rather 6 pack abs.

And Also if it is true that the Lagos State Government has laid down a rule that on no circumstance should any SS2 student write G.C.E Exam.That if found out that such student would be expelled from school and would not be given any documents\certificates.

And please i wanna know how true this rumor is: A friend current student in SS2 told me that the lagos State Government has laid down a rule that on no circumstances should no SS2 student go and write G.C.E, That if found out that such student would be expelled from school and would not be given any document\Certificate from the school.Please i don not know how true is that, cos i'm thinking of buying G.C.E form for my younger brother in SS2.

I don't know why you guys are condemning this kind of military training even the so called USA give exactly the same mode of training to their military 'personnels.

I applied to some UK schools and have been give Conditional offer letters to study Petroleum and Gas Engineering(MSc) at Salford Uni, Subsea Engineering at Strathclyde and Cranfield Unis (Most other Unis in the UK don't take 2:2 for related courses).

The issues I need advice on are these:
-My passport expires next january and I need to apply for a Tier4 visa now. Can I use the passport even though it expires soon or should I go for another passport?

- The year of birth on my WAEC certificate is 1985 instead of 1986, everything else is correct. I had been using my statement of result since 2001 and just went to my school in Osun state from Abuja for my cert last week when I got to know this. I was at the WAEC office here in Abuja two days after ago I got back but I was verbally referred to the Ibadan zonal office (I was told my school was grouped under that zone). I read on some other threads on here that it takes a minimum of 3months and max of 6months to have another one issued by WAEC.
I surfed the Internet and got the supposed phone numbers of the Ibadan office but realized they were now defunct, so I set out to go there. I was at the Ibadan zonal office yesterday morning only to not be allowed in because nobody would see me until May 21- SSCE exam was going on and all the officials were now busy at the various exam centers! I was not even allowed in (TWATS, THE LOT OF THEM)!!

The problem is I want to make sure all the things presented to the school for admission would be the exact same things presented to the UK embassy officials. To receive my UNconditional offer letter, the WAEC result should be one of the documents to present (to show I have C6 or above in English Language).
PLEASE WAITING FOR WAEC TO ISSUE ANOTHER RESULT IS NO MORE AN OPTION(EXCEPT IT'S POSSIBLE TO HAVE ANOTHER ISSUE IN A MONTH'S TIME MAXIMUM)
WOULD AN AFFIDAVIT ALONE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE OR MUST I HAVE ANOTHER LETTER FROM WAEC TO ACKNOWLEDGE THEY KNOW ABOUT THE ISSUE AND ARE WORKING TO RESOLVE IT?
HAS ANYONE HERE EVER APPLIED FOR A UK VISA USING A QUESTIONABLE WAEC CERT BACKED UP WITH AN AFFIDAVIT/LETTER FROM WAEC OFFICE AND GOTTEN THE VISA?
