coogar: there are billions of managers ready to take that job. hector cuper, capello, goran-eriksson, marco bielsa, etc.God forbid bad thing. |
chamotex: I didn't know how important Mike Phelan was until today...I need to find him and apologise.DAMN. Things are desperate for you to say that. ![]() |
see chance wasted cos Valencia has no left leg. |
lovely finish by Routledge. Buttner showing Valencia how to cross. |
what is wrong with Moyes. even though we have long-term injuries to Fellaini and Jones, Tom C has been playing every single minute for a while now. he still won't start Anderson. Even SAF wasn't this stubborn. |
you can have Rooney. just give us Mata plus £20-25m. if not shut up. |
All of our players are crap. Just 7-8 months removed of winning the title at a canter and harshly losing out to Madrid in the UCL, our squad is crap, all our players average or poor. Now people are talking about how we need to rebuild the squad. Question, was there a single united fan on this forum or others, who felt that the new managerial appointment had a rebuilding project facing him when he took charge? Almost all of us, even the most pessimistic, felt that the new manager simply needed to continue SAF's work and make a few tweeks here and there, while building and molding the club to his own suiting over a longer period. Wasn't the justification for handing Moyes the job fairly easily, that it was continuity and he would be comfortable keeping the ship on a steady course and working within SAF's legacy and United's recent traditions. Gary Neville often talks about how Moyes is adjusting to United and eventually United will change him. But it now seems that Moyes isn't comfortable changing to match United, but instead wants to change United to match him. That is his right and it is understandable, but if we were looking for a manager to engage in a rebuild or change the ethos of United, Moyes would likely have had a sterner road to the job, if he would have even made the shortlist. I am not in favor of giving Moyes license to make big change. Firstly, his appointment was almost solely based on the desire to avoid unnecessary changes. Secondly, what pedigree does Moyes have to say that he is going to rebuild United's squad just a year removed from being champions? This isn't Capello, Wenger, Lippi e.t.c we are talking about. Moyes has approached this job like when he went from Preston to Everton, but the situations are wildly different. United aren't looking for a manager to remake the side, they aren't looking to go in a new direction. But Moyes has only been able to approach this like any other sack and hire arrangement and now he wants to be given license to make massive changes when that was not the initial mandate given to him. Before I will feel comfortable giving him license to do and undo, I want to see what he does with what he has (which is much better than some believe). So far he has done nothing to reassure me. |
Can't believe some people are dreaming of Vidal. It will never happen during this window. It is equally unlikely during the summer. Same thing for Gundogan during the January window. |
JayKayMaybachz: This place is gerring boring by the minute cux of excessive arguementNot as boring as watching our play in the final third under Moyes. ![]() |
which kind of confusing changes are these. I just hope we aren't bringing on Kagawa to play on the left, else it would have been wiser to bring on Young. |
DAMN see pages and pages of epistles. @ tess 1 welcome to our raucous thread. Happy new year to all. May be a fruitful one for us all. |
^^^ bale may look like an extra from planet of the apes, but he is a well behaved individual. unlike cannibal Suarez. who will pay 100m for a player who can decide fi eyin si at any moment, or racially abuse e.t.c. |
See epistles. You guys should know by now Elampiro has a big bias in favor of players with pace and power and big bias against those who don't have it. Just like Coogar has a bias towards technical efficient players. Why do you think Elampiro was still on DDG case, even when he was performing brilliantly last season. It was because he wasn't playing with power and charging out like a sweeper. ![]() Jones has the power and pace Elampiro likes, so he will advocate for him to play in midfield because none of Carick, Cleverley, Fellaini, Giggs have it in good measure. I can understand his view, but I have a fundamental disagreement with it. But yesterdays display had little to do with Jones absence. Baring injuries and suspensions we basically played the same line-up as against Hull 48 hours previously and we predictably looked tired and lacking urgency. This is why I felt we should have rested Evra and Cleverley along with Rooney at the least. It was no coincidence they both gave lethargic displays. Even free-scoring Man City didn't sweep aside Crystal Palace yesterday. Seeing how Fulham were embarrassed, one can understand Moyes desire not over rotate the side while on a good run of form. |
looks like we are going to be trying to hold this one goal lead till the end. |
and the fans predictably targeting their scapegoats even though its moyes clustered tactical setup causing issues. Moyes has gone back to his unproductive old ways putting players all over place and out of position. put players in their natural positions. get giggs off and bring on Zaha or Januzaj to play on the right, young on the left and Carrick, Cleverley and Kagawa through the middle behind Hernandez. |
Evra goes on vacation at least twice a game these days. |
Moyes is going back to his old ways again. Why a CB at RB when we have a real fullback, fully rested on the bench. |
elampiro: NoCleverley has started the last 4 games in succession. Yet you still feel he should start against Norwich in just 48 hrs? |
We have to freshen the side up for our visit to Norwich Saturday, before the visit of Spurs on new years day. Badly in need of resting are Cleverley, Rooney and Evra. Lineup DDG, Fabio, Vidic, Smalling, Buttner in defence Young, Carrick, Anderson, Giggs and Kagawa in midfield with Chica upfront |
ddg thank your lucky stars. what was that. |
we are only going to heart broken if we try to sit on this lead. |
their goalie is partially injured. we should test him with more shots like tom c's earlier curler. |
now that is a goal worthy of a £1m per month player. |
Rafael has done his hamstring. if he is out for awhile, I hope Fabio is given a chance, no Smalling at rb |
what is with this school boy defending? |
Jones injured. 7 weeks. |
west ham want to break our legs. unnecessary roughness |
^^ name one goalie in the EPL who regularly charges off his line to claim aerial balls. |
Seems Rooney may not be available for the christmas/end of year schedule. |
these conditions are just terrible. |
