debosky: It was 4 games presenting a good opportunity a few days ago, now it's down to three eh? Let's see what happens.Actually it was 6 games, then after Spurs 5 games, then 4 games after Everton and now 3 games after Newcastle. Like joke will drop points in all the games. |
mbulela: I dey sidon look.Yes oh. It is painful when you don't know what is coming, but less so when you are already expectant. Nowadays I just laugh. |
See what preoccupation with being solid and not getting dominated gets you. You still concede and drop points anyway. Jones in midfield will offer minimal improvement defensively and major impediment offensively. He had a good game, but guess what, we lost anyway. What did it gain us compared to what we lost. We had no creativity and no spark for most of the game bar a period early in the 2nd half. Cleverley came off and we then had no possession. We were actually under kosh and would have conceded again if not that Newcastle were okay with one. Manchester United will live or die by playing attacking football. All this cautiousness will backfire. We will failed to score or threaten the opposition and we will still concede soft goals. Evra will fall asleep and let a winger go by him, Vidic will make poor clearances, Jones will give away silly fouls, Smallin will get turned inside out, Cleverley/Fellaini/Giggs will fail to pick up late runners e.t.c You name it, it will happen. We are going to concede come what may, so we need to focus on carrying some threat at the other end. Moyes and his backroom staffs over focus on solidity though is dulling the spark of all our players, even the flair ones. A paltry 8 goals at O.T and some think the problem is being solid and grinding against visiting teams. |
them just they nutmeg Jones every week. |
why is zaha on the left. so that he won't do well and Moyes can then confine him to the bench. |
coogar: abeg o - nani is doing wonders on the flanks. he's been the best player in this half so far. beating his marker & whipping the crosses.and we still concede anyways. |
EVRA. |
see Fellaini texting instead of paying attention. we need to investigate this warranty matter and get a refund. |
see how they almost put ddg in trouble. stop passing at back. Rio is the only one capable. |
RVP, please save us. ![]() |
Newcastle coming up so let me just quickly say this. We have scored 8 goals at O.T so far. Remove set play goals and that number probably halves. F**k getting bullied, we aren't even playing when we do have the ball. Its like a boxer who obsessing about his weak chin, when he doesn't even have any offense and he is well behind on the score card, in a must win bout where he needs to win rounds or a K.O. Such a boxer is a fool. We are in serious danger of blowing any chance at retaining our title and becoming embroiled in a fight for an automatic UCL spot. Jones in a 2 man midfield is bad idea short term and long term. Its not like he is Makele, or even a poor mans Makele (e.g Joey Barton). He offers nothing but a minor speed bump in terms of disrupting the opposition and what he takes away in constructive play is not worth the sacrifice. Jones in a 2 man middle won't stop us conceding soft goals and worse still it won't help us gain control and dictate the tempo of games. As much as I don't rate him, at least Fellaini can offer a threat and help from set pieces. He can pass forward better and much quicker than Jones. Ando can drive forward better than Jones, is capable of one touch passing and can use his strength to receive the ball under pressure without messing up. Cleverley helps us maintain possession and every minute the opposition doesn't have the ball, is extra minute for us to fashion a chance and give our own defense a breather. News flash we are well behind the contenders. We need to make up ground and to do that we need to be positive and look to dictate terms. Jones in central midfield does not achieve that, as it places too much pressure and responsibility on whomever partners him to push and prompt United forward (none of our players can do that alone, even Carrick). If our wing play was more like it was in 2010/2011 we might get away with it for a while, but not with our present side. I guess just like with the summer clamouring for Fellaini, the conclusive proof will come when we see it (sadly to the detriment of United short term and long term) |
elampiro: ^^^You and this your obsession with pace (at least it wasn't pace & power like usual) ![]() Which Jones has balance? The lad that still injures himself every other tackle he makes or commits himself to and still has regular fits of clumsiness. No doubt about it, he is improving steadily. He has a lot of potential but a lot of learning and improving still to do. I know he has now become your new crush, but don't over rate or exaggerate his attributes. ![]() |
elampiro: Oshea helped us in later years, and we would have won the 2011/12 season had he been around. His performance in his later years is better than what most of our guys are offering now.No I will not agree. Have we not been fielding a CB at RB for a while now, even though we a multi purpose fullback(who was played in our UCL final appearance 11) frozen out of the squad. Why is Welbeck a striker (whose breakthrough season, 11/12, came when he was played upfront, what a surprise) on the wings, when we just gave Nani a new contract and signed Zaha for £15m. What is Kagawa doing out wide, when we could desperately use his creativity in the center. Why is Phil Jones in midfield, when we have our 3rd costliest signing, sitting on the bench and Anderson as well. As for O'Shea he only ever played in a 2 man midfield for us in inconsequential games (league cup) or when injuries, suspensions and fixture congestion dictated it. The other occasions, he was played in 3 man center when we were happy for a draw, and/or simply wanted to frustrate and stop superior or deadly sides from blowing us open early. |
As for the Moyes is relatively blameless excuses coming up. Utter nonsense. I will post a comment I saw which barring a few differences encapsulates how I feel about the Moyes was given a tricky situation excuses. This idea that SAF left Moyes a shit squad is a fucking joke and huge disrespect to the man. He left Moyes a squad that won the EPL by 11 points and played extremely well in the CL and competed in the cups.http://therepublikofmancunia.com/confirmed-line-up-united-vs-everton-4/comment-page-5/#comment-655492 |
Jones in midfield will not help us, the same way playing Fortune, Smith, P Neville, Rio, O'Shea and numerous others did really not help in our wilderness years 2003-2006. Play players in their proper positions and let them sink or swim on their own merit. Gimmicks won't help. |
Riberio will never get a work permit, we have been down this road with Costa and many other South Americans who aren't national team regulars. |
If there's any warranty clause attached to Felliani's purchase, then he should be shipped back to Everton and get some reimbursement from them.
ROTFLMAO. |
On a lighter note. www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/10496244/Manchester-United-v-Everton-Marouane-Fellaini-and-David-Moyes-suffer-bad-hair-day.html lol. I don't think I have seen a Fellaini wig since September. |
I can see Coogar lurking. Can't wait to hear him lambasting Giggs for his failure to clear leading to the goal. |
Moyes has also managed to reverse our penchant for finishing strongly and grabbing late goals, to conceding late result changing goals. |
Stats show that United is playing far more long balls under Moyes and passing a lot less. This is his style. We may not like it, but Moyes wants to set us up solid and to try to nick a win with direct tactics pumping it into the box, which is what Baines did so well. The problem is this style does not work at the top level and we don't have the mentality or personnel for it e.g really good passers like Scholes or Becks and even then you need to vary it. tactically there is a huge gap and that style of play is not working well for us. We are too slow, we are punting too many balls and we are losing our ability to pass and move. we immediately hand the initiative to thte opposition. |
chamotex: This is beyond personnel problems, you could have put any 11 out last night we would not have won that game. This is why when some were obsessing with targeting certain players, I kept asking what Moyes and crew were doing with the squad in training. |
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/354241/Manchester-United-chief-admits-defeat-and-compares-club-to-Liverpool and the hits just keep coming. |
Saw this comment online. ROTFLMAO. One must clench ones buttocks and hope that by Christmas Moyes will not be saying, “Well we have another 6 points, that’s 40, if you had told me we would avoid relegation by Christmas at the start of the season I would have taken it. We don’t have the players to compete for top four or in the Champions League as we are short in 11 positions. So for us this is a good result.” |
dademola: elampiro, pls just stop all these mumuni analysis of urs!! they are very annoying!!Haba boys are not smiling. ![]() |
chamotex: The funny thing is that I wasn't even expecting a win before the game so I can't even say I'm disappointed. Those drop points against Southampton and Cardiff may be the difference btwn europa league and ucl footy in may. Arsenal must be wondering what jazz we used to knack them. |
chrisley024: Now the problem has been confirmed.I blame Tom Cleverley for this, useless boy. ![]() Only God knows what Moyes and his crew have done to our players, its like they have forgotten the address of the goal post. We better just move to Wimbledon style, cos our only means of scoring is corners. |
Januzaj will get more joy on the left. Oviedo and pienaar will stifle him on the right. |
pace of the game seriously going up and the game getting stretched, giggs in the center becoming a risk. |
Ando not even on the bench despite Jones suspension. The rumors are true, Ando followed Zaha to knack Moyes daughter. ![]() |
