tumababa: sorry i mean tethered jailbreak.
How do u activate an iphone running 4.3.5 without aving a tethered jailbreak??assuming it is locked to a network in portugal, how do u get the official sim to activate. assuming u dont want a tethered jailbreak and u dont know the network its locked to, what do u do? pls let us know the cheaper way u av( remember u cant use SAM without jailbreaking).
FYI, the first person i used d sim for told me he used SAM(with a tethered jailbreak on 4.3.5) to check d network dat it was locked to. SAM gave T-mobile germany. I configured d sim for tmobile germany but didnt activate the fone. i used d finder and it gave me orange france(with applecare extended warrantee), i configured d activation sim for orange france and d fone got activated INSTANTLY. So if u av a cheaper way, pls let us know. Forget me if my iphone skills is rusty butttt you do realize that regards of how you activate, jailbreak is still tethered in 4.3.5 right?? So the only important thing here would be the push certs. He could just use redsn0w to hackivate and then use SAM to rectify the push certs, just saying |

Jeboy: Too many bad belles in Nairaland and if u check on dem really they fall around d people that can be easily compromised.
Someone was using the fact that because Rail project takes 10-15 years dis one cannot be a reality.
If a project will take dat long, wont you do a Feasibility Study and have a plan before implementation.
U guys should grow up. We are not saying GEJ and his team will do miracle but because ppl in past have failed doesnt mean they would.
How many of us beleived we ll record Electoral Success that will be locally and wordly acclaimed as Successful?
Lets give Nigeria a chance. That you dont trust in yourself does not mean u shld do same to others except if u re hired as a conspirator.Enough said.
Lastly for d dude who says I should grow up and start paying tax, I served in 2007 and have been working for three years now and have my tax removed before being paid is it net? Dont just say anything that comes to your mind. Its doesnt show intelligence. clearly you dont know wat yur saying, WTF is wrong with you, Why do this rail thingy when the roads are bad, no constant water or electricity, While i am not disputing that the idea is good, i sincerely think that at this point in time, The railway thingy is a luxury. The most basic requirements havent been met and ur talking abt shit like that, The way i see it, you need to grow up. its either ur GEJ himself or ur receiving kolanut somewhere, |

Moreover, the power sector is already recording huge success. Oh, I forgot you are typing from Vietnam. Sorry. Anyway, this is to inform you that the power project is already recording big improvements as Lagos is now enjoying huge success in power supply. some places have been enjoying 24 hours light for a while now. My friend in Lekki confirms light has not bliked for 6 days now. Something that has never happened before in the history of Nigeria. So lets keep praying for our presido to do better and sustain it. Kerosine is now between 65 and 95 Naira a litre across lagos while a few stations sell at 50 Naira. We hope that also improves with time. We need more prayers for the rail system. Forget those people who dont believe in Nigeria. Let them naturalized wherever they are, we dont care.
I'm not sure if you posted the above just to generate some traffic or controversy. I'm also not sure if you are a paid agent of the state assigned to defend its interests here on this board. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
I have met a few Nigerians who have been seduced by what they believe to be a marked improvement in electricity supply over the past 2 months or so. Taken at face value, the supply does SEEM to be improving. The reality however, is quite different. I will speak for myself, and I assure you I am in Lagos and nowhere near Vietnam. In 3 days last week, I did not have electricity for more than 7 hours or so. (And I have the damaged foodstuffs in the refridgerator to prove this). There is a pattern here - the formula is 16 hour electricity supply each day for 3 or 4 days then near total blackouts for 2 to 3 days. The reasons (or excuses) given by PHCN are so predictable now: "system collapse", "trip off of feeder pillar", "fault", etc.
Its quite simple really. Nigeria's grid supplies less than 4000MW. The demand for electricity in Nigeria runs into scores of megawatts. There can only be one outcome: The allocation of electricity becomes a zero-sum game in which one consumer can only gain (i.e. get electricity) at the expense of another consumer. Well . . . why are we complaining? So many of us ignored the warnings and voted in the PDP for another 4 years, despite the hard evidence that the PDP is a party of failed men with nothing but darkness to offer. How can you give what you don't have?
Earlier on this year, voters forgot that Nigeria is not running a parliamentary system in which snap elections can be called and voters can immediately register their dissatisfaction. Nigerians should therefore brace themsleves for 4 more years of Orwellian propaganda in which the lie becomes the truth and we earn global proprietary rights for our own home-grown perpetual planning machine (PPM). Every statement by government officials these days is full of "plans". "We are planning to do this", "we are planning to do that", "we are planning to plan this and that", etc.
Empty words. Words, words and yet more words.
I am sick to death of words. God Bless You brother, From now on, anyway here that opens their mouth and says something like NLers love to critize anything good is a DAFT (NA ME TALK AM) I am sorry to say this but if this POS news is anything to go by, then Truly, our government has lost its way. For all the haters here, Let me ask you questions 1. Are you blind to see that a whole giant of africa cannot even boast of constant power?? 2. Are u Blind to see that there are some many unemployed youths out there and that it is when they become sucessful that the nigerian govt remembers them eg Seal, Sade, etc 3. Even the educational system in nigeria is a diaster. Recently i read that Jamb was only gonna admit 335,000 out of millions of peeps?? And yet people come here and start opening their anus here and start taking of train, SMH |

Mavor: Like I said, most, not all. The few good ones are taken but of course I'm still keeping my eyes open. It is always good to marry from one's culture. It makes things easier and room for understanding during marriage, but 9ja girls these days give lots of stress. I have nothing against my fellow 9ja, after all my own blood sisters are Nigerians. There are guys who can stomach some of the stuff most 9ja girls like to dish out, I on my part have little or zero patience for it. It doesn't take much to turn me off completely. But pls ask yourself this, why is it most 9ja guys complain about 9ja ladies and their fronting. Fronting and shakara is allowed from ladies. It is part of the whole feminine appeal, but 9ja ladies take it to extreme levels that become revolting. Nuff said. I CANT SHOUT!!!!! THIS IS EXACTLY THE CASE. soft-touch: Network like what and what , iPhone never require your ip address, iPhone obtain your ip automatically when all settings are ok just like every other phone. It is either your SIM is yet to be activated for browsing from your Telecomm Provider or your settings are not okay, or you have not subscribe to a data plan. There is a difference btw talk and reality. I am speaking from experience. I used my iphone 4 in nigeria with an airtel that has been activated. inputing the settings only wasnt enough. i had a make a custom ipcc to be able to use the airtel 3g network, case rested |

-[n3rve] Erm its complicated. Some networks in nigeria dont connect to the data network by simply putting the apn especially with the smartphone. most especially with the iphone becos of things like ip address etc |
Phones › Re: iPhone Killer Apps Section!! by moonraker(m): 12:53am On Sep 04, 2011 |
sun_temi: Your question plenty gan o.
For hotspot, if your firmware is 4.3.3 or later, Go to Settings - General - Network - Cellular Data Network under Internet Tethering input MTN's APN which is web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net Thats all. When you go back to settings you will see Personal Hotspot there.
Glo is also very good. Etisalat, as far as I'm concern ain't very good on iPhone because at the moment they don't have a strong 3G network.
And to your last question. you will need to jailbreak your iPhone if you haven't done that before. You will also need to install appsync and installous from cydia before you can get paid apps freely.
So my own turn to ask question now What is the firmware version on your iPhone 4? or he could just go straight to jailbreaking his phone install the tethering app becos theres still a chance that inputing the apn just like that might not work |
Career › Re: How Much Should Entry Level Graduates Be Paid In Nigeria? by moonraker(m): 2:47pm On Sep 03, 2011 |
AjanleKoko: Interesting, but I did not mean 'worth' in that context, i.e. personal worth. I'm talking about the market factors, demand and supply. When I say Nigerian graduates are not worth that much, I mean in terms of demand. There are not so many companies in the Nigerian labour market, that are looking to hire fresh grads. At least not in recent times. That's what I mean.
Remember some years back, when banks were strictly hiring graduates for all entry positions. Now they have taken it down two notches, and are hiring a lot of OND grads for their front office (teller) work. Time was when GT was the only bank doing this, and they got a lot of flak from the public. Now virtually every bank is doing this.
Also, there's been a lot of flak for the oil companies in the past, for hiring 'contract' staff en masse for a lot of positions, and paying them a lot less than the regular staff, and providing no benefits. Ironically this works the opposite in developed countries: contract staff don't have benefits but are paid a lot more than permanent staff. Nowadays a lot of the MNCs have been hiring contract staff, and have used youth corpers to do their low-level entry jobs, while the contract wages have risen to appreciable levels in the oil companies.
After all said and done, what we are trying to establish here is: what is the fair wage for a fresh graduate? What should be the minimum and maximum that employers should pay? That's the question here. Interesting!!! This point really got me thinking. I think in the public sector, the min salary should be like 50k and max 80k On the private sector, its becomes alit tricky, This is because jobs in the private sector are mostly contracts and such a contract and its contents are made based on the applicants experience etc |
Career › Re: How Much Should Entry Level Graduates Be Paid In Nigeria? by moonraker(m): 9:53am On Sep 03, 2011 |
chamber2: Exactly. And yet most claim to be ''well baked'' graduates. Even to identify simple question was a problem.
Even a manual labourer deserves a pay, not to talk of a graduate, whether ''well baked'' or ''half baked.'' At least, every organisation has a standard recruitment process, and any body who secures a job through such process is deemed fit for the job and therefore, deserves to be paid. You missed it. In the actual sense, the thread was derailed by one person ajirebi20 The rest were just commenting on what he said which by the way was offensive. If at all, hes the best poo ever since the existence of slice bread, then i guess thats the reason why nigeria is a failed state. A president claiming to be a PHD holder is no different from the stack illiterate that ruled our country in the past SMH |

ajirebi20: Nigerian graduates are all substandard. Paying them is like giving money to charity.
No wonder many are un and under employed. SMH You Maybe correct but You dont think that the employers are greedy too?? Pls cut all the bullshit. Look in developed countries, the standard practice is that a graduate applies to a company, does the interview, gets into the company and then the company trains that person using the guidelines of that company. I have been through that system before so i knw exactly what i am talking abt. The whole system is messed up. back in the early 90s, beena graduate in nigeria was a big deal, Now |
