Bawo must be happy.

Jesoul and Chiogo, why is your beautiful team so heart-wrenching? This whole thing should NEVER have gone beyond 1st OT. Silly mistakes cost y'all a 3rd game but it's all good. Whichever way, y'all are coming back to Chicago again.
PoliticsRe: Why The Division? by Moonstone(f): 9:34pm On Apr 26, 2009
I don't think it's true in its entirety but I kinda agree with some of the points above. The main problem for me is that Nigerians in Naija feel like they have a stronger grasp on things back home and while I may agree about that to a certain extent, it's not always true. Apart from that, they think we have it easier because of our locations and this kinda causes a lot of resentment for our optimism in Nigeria (for those of who have some measure of that).
PoliticsRe: How Can We Hold Credible Elections In Nigeria? by Moonstone(f): 6:58pm On Apr 26, 2009
Even automated voting will be rigged, that's the honest truth. We're in a corrupt system. Every atom of our system has been injected with a certain level of corruption even the most sacred parts. The way for us to have a credible election is for us to have a credible form of governance to remove the corruption first.

Nigerians have to refuse to be bought by money, but unfortunately the vast majority of them have been so deprived that they cannot stand up for their rights or that which is right.
Who told you that abeg? Which Nigerians?
There are very few incorruptible Nigerians in Nigeria o. Most of them can be bought so easily.
PoliticsRe: Eyo Festival Is Occultic by Moonstone(f): 6:53pm On Apr 26, 2009
wirinet:
The keyword here is was, meaning it is not being practiced anymore, and besides it was only a few tribes on the Niger Delta that practiced killing of twins and not the whole Nigerian tribes.

Offering of once's son as a sacrifice to show obedience to God was once a part of Jewish culture.
Burning of once biggest farm animal and crops was once a part of Jewish culture.
Burning of witches and heretics( any saying against church doctrines) was once a part of European culture.
Covering once's self with spiritual blood of god's only begotten son, spilt over 2000 yrs ago is still part of christian culture. ( I can stand blood - spiritual or otherwise)

So why do you not harp on these practices but just your own native cultural practices.

You are very economical with the truth here. Eyo festival celebrations do not keep you under house arrest.
You do not shout freedom of movement when christian block our roads and expressway when you have your crusades.
You do not shout freedom of sanity when you people engage in shouting tournaments every friday in the name of night vigils.
When you people disturbs and distrupts other people's lives, you feel it is an injunction from God. But when others carry out cultural practices you do not approve of, you "shout freedom of movement".
E gbami ke!
Out of all those practices, look closely - Which one of them is Christian? I'm not Jewish neither am I European. I used the killing of twins as an example of a tradition that WAS wrong. I'm not saying that is what other people do today. I used that as an example because some people were talking about how it is wrong to disrespect tradition.
As for the blood used, we don't drink real blood and like I said - some may call that occultic and please let them do so. I won't fret. That's their own opinion and every one is entitled to their own opinion.
I'm not being biased here. When Christians have their crusades and what not, do they have any consequences for you leaving your house? Do they tell you that if you see some masquerade, you'll die? I'm not only talking about Eyo festival, I'm referring to all the traditional festivals. As the whole Christian blocking road thing, I personally have not encountered that before either.
It's my opinion and I'm allowed to have it right? That's my opinion on the whole Festival thing.
PoliticsRe: Eyo Festival Is Occultic by Moonstone(f): 6:39pm On Apr 26, 2009
@Moonstone, u amaze mi,
who told u Christians dnt shut streets,or they dnt make odas uncomfy at tyms?u must be outta service,
u shld knw that Naija Christians invented screaming in d mornings and evenings all in the name of preaching,nd dnt 4get all those mid-street vigils with projectors and the likes, dnt arrange the truth in ur favour,Eyo festival has nothing to do wit rituals ok?
sisi,if u think it occultic, afterall u werent dragged into it,or dem wan force u 2 join dem? try Valium,if u cant stand Eyo ok?
? huh
Do christians tell you to stay in your house and not come out? Do they restrict your movements by telling you that only men or women are allowed to come out? There is no church I know that shuts my street down and I have a church 3 buildings away from me. Let them scream and what not. Like I said - it's a personal thing. I think these groups are occultic because that is what I believe. If anyone thinks Christianity is occultic, good luck to them. As long as they don't disturb me with that idea, i'm fine with it. I won't force my religion on anyone, and no one should do the same to me.
