bawomolo:

happy new year moonstone.  good to hear from you.  i thought a-40 locked you up in the basement or sent you back to Onitsha.

the saints seem to have settled down.  anyone see how manning throws the ball out of bounds to avoid any contact. na athlete be that o grin
Same here. How you been?
A-40 cannot lock me up like that. . . i would have killed him before then.

I think they are a lil' better - I hardly think 10-3 is something to be happy about. I need them to intercept the silly colts, dang it!
Don't mind the silly manning. He's scared of a lil' Smith. . . can't handle #91!

I was on your side earlier today, A - gotta pray harder for us.

My Saints are playing absolute rubbish. I don't know if Colston slapped butter on his hands or what . . . I almost think that Colts need to lead us by a large margin before they freaking wake up. I hate this already. . .  cry cry cry cry cry

Politics / Re: Nigeria To Allow Armed U.s. Air Marshals On Flights by Moonstone(f): 1:25am On Jan 14, 2010
What the heck for?
We have one incident - just one incident and they're treating us as if we're regular terrorists.
Richard Reid was coming from London - why don't they have U.S. Armed Air Marshals on that flight.

I know we have our challenges to security but they need to use our own manpower

Busy_body:

IS that my j-girl? Wey u carry dat ya  bakassi go all these years? If my man has 200,000 and wants to stump up 20% of that for our wedding, i will tell him to give me the cash and use it to buy a 3 bed property somewhere up north like in some part of d dales or the shires, the rental of around 500 per month is enough to keep me in enough Jimmy Choo's to satiate my long throat, lol.
Of course darl! How are you? I just waka commot small.

LOL! Me I will collect the money now. . . no need to go further - Open 3 brand-new accounts and just smile all year long. . . making him believe that my 600 dollar Vera Wing dress was a Vera Wang 6,000 pound dress.

@ r231 - Oh okay , that changes things. In that case, i'd like to see that kinda wedding too. I saw a million-dollar wedding on tv once and it took my breath away. They have human dining tables for heaven's sake.

I said MAYBE NOT - beauty wise
I did not say DEFINITELY NOT. The reason why I said that is because beauty is relative. After all that fake hair, eyelashes, nails and boobs - something's gotta come out looking a lil' better, right?

People like you are the reason why I need a difference btw Nigerians and Nigeria diasporans. They should be considered different ethnicities in cases like these.

r231:

back to you MOONSTONE

i still want to see what a £40K wedding looks like cus it doesn't make no sense spending dat much on a wedding
That's a million naira marriage - In Nigeria it doesn't look like much.
In Britain, I'm guessing it's a whole 'nother tale.
Romance / Re: Why Do Nigerian Ladies Insult Their Toasters? by Moonstone(f): 12:07am On Jan 14, 2010
oyinda.:

spader9 is akata not nigerian. or maybe one of his parents is akata or something like that.
he loves to post pics of akata girls on NL basically in trying to proove that they're prettier or something. but nobody on here really cares. haha

sharrap dere sefago.
Really? No wonder, in that case, God help his soul.
Spader9:

Akata lover always. . .

I'm seeing one now. . . Screw my naija fam. I'd still be in that hellish nigeria if it weren't for my parents(The wise ones). . .
I understand you better now.

Spader9:

BK, That thing(Nigerian Woman) can't beat my beautiful akatas,

I was gonna go up in flames at that statement till I realized its source. What do you mean we can't beat your akatas? I can honestly tell you - beauty-wise, maybe not but attitude-wise, anytime anyday.
bluespice:

self-hating inferiority complex ridden Nigerian.
no i wasn't insulting you, i was merely stating what you are.
You know there's a thing called preference right? so no one's faulting your being attracted (intimidated) to african american women,
but when you get on a high horse and blatantly label all nigerian women (because you either had a bad run-in with one and that scarred you for life or cos you're just not attracted to them) ugly, you loose the respect given to people with sense and are lumped with the fools of the world
who are in abundance if i might add.
Thanks for that girl.
Allow him. Funny thing is if he's married - he's probably married a naija girl and if not, he'll probably marry one after family interference.

deji2009:

With any level of education et cetera, in the united kindom people dont complicate things

whether is 9 to 5 whatever marriage is marriage. Money is not easy to see like that unlike

our corrupt country. I have a friend that just wedded and i can guarantee you he spend

no more than 2000 and he got wedded to a beautiful delta state girl. very beautiful girl
Excuse you?
Let me correct that statement - In the UK, people don't complicate things but Nigerians in the UK complicate things.
Please, the same spirit that leads Nigerian girls in the UK to be fashionable is the same spirit that pushes them into having elaborate weddings no matter how simple it could be.
You cannot guarantee me that he spent only 2,000. You can only talk of the one you know. How are you sure that his wife didn't add to that money?

r231:

even if you have £1M in the acct £40K is still ridiculous ki lo de
pple will come and eat then leave talk about it for couple of days Ovation and Co
Who told you that?
People with such money especially Nigerians will want the best of the best. Those ones are even worse because they can exhaust up to 100k on the wedding.
The more money you have, the more you feel the need to portray your kinda class.

H2O2:

Except my Ibukun.  I love her so much  kiss
See this pervert cheesy cheesy cheesy. How won't you say we're crass? Your morality is messed up.  tongue tongue
H2O2:

Then how do you explain their proclivity to prolong matters, when a resounding no would suffice?
No today, yes tomorrow, tantalizers the day after.
Does it stem from the need for attention?
They should understand that we're not toys.
This is how it happens. . . . we say 'NO' in a nice manner - they come back,
we say it a lil' harsher - they come back
we tell them point blank - they come back
we insult them - then it clicks and then they come to NL to complain.
C'est fini.

You should also understand that we mean what we say.

justwise:

That is a big IF, but nobody should do 9-5 and save only to spend it on wedding costing £40,000.
Well for 9-5, I suppose 5,000 is okay then or maybe even 10. Or is that so horrible as well?

^ that's what i'm saying
oluclem:

So what are you saying?
Romance / Re: Why Do Nigerian Ladies Insult Their Toasters? by Moonstone(f): 11:21pm On Jan 13, 2010
H2O2:

You're right, unrefined is putting it mildly.  Crass is a more adequate depiction. No means yes, yes means no.  The sooner girls stop interchanging these words the easier it will get for them.
Girls are the most unorthodox gender on the planet earth.  They find it easier to mince words than to be upfront.
That's a barbarian's excuse to refrain from courteousness.   Naija babes are not the most eloquent or fluent english speakers on the planet, so don't delude yourself.
What da heck?
Crass is too harsh and we are not crass.
The sooner guys stop imagining our answers, the better for them.
We are not the most unorthodox. . . Guys have beat us in that category.
I know but if you're gonna toast a girl - you might as well do it right.

I'm with u on the issue of making her happy, surely thats wat any decent man wants fro the bride, but u don't have to break the bank to do that.
I am not saying you should break the bank o! Just do what you can. No man should be horribly broke after his wedding. It's what he can afford. If you have 200,000 pounds in your account, what stops you from using up 40,000?
Romance / Re: How Much Must A Man Have To Be Ready For Marriage? by Moonstone(f): 11:07pm On Jan 13, 2010
justwise:

Paying £40,000 for a wedding is pure madness, marriage is supposed to be a life time committment, u don't waste your saves on wedding alone and after that u start living on credit card and loans or start saving from scrach again.
Well a wedding is just the beginning of your marriage. It's worth it to marry someone and to make her happy. As most people say, it's the bride's day.
She might not want to cause a hassle but don't let her miss out on her dream day.
