@Morbolar. Yes, I've already landed but sorry, I'm not a pharmacist so I may not be in the best position to give you those specific details relating to the field over here.

I was just privy to the information and I thought it good to share with my people on the thread just in case some finds it beneficial or knows someone that would. Nevertheless, I think some more knowledgeable folks like @Salford1 might be able to give some more discipline-specific and detailed insights in that regard. Cheers!

Oh okay. Thanks. Was a good gesture.

Hello guys,

If you know any ALBERTA-resident internationally educated pharmacists planning to write their Evaluating Exam in July 2018, you may want to let them know about the study group that will run from February 7 to June 27 under the Auspices of Direction For Immigrants, Bow Valley College, Calgary.

Their office number to call is 403-770-5155.

Directions for Immigrants

Its a no-cost exam preparation study group for internationally educated pharmacists.

Delivery Method:
Calgary Residents - Face to Face
Clients living in Alberta outside Calgary - Synchronous online

Hi Tone23. Pls are you a pharmacist and already landed. If yes, how has it been settling in. Any prospects for jobs while sitting the licensing exams?

My mom applied for and was issued a canadian trv prior to our landing as we were expecting a baby in June and planned to land in April. She sponsored herself. Applied as a tourist, booked a hotel accomodation, sponsored herself and listed a friend of hers who lives in Toronto as one of the persons she would be visiting but did not obtain a letter of invitation from her. She did a paper app and it was processed in 6 weeks. She does have travel history to several countries including Canada in the past so that may have been a factor and when she came here she went to Toronto first as stated in her app before heading our way.

Thanks a lot vcole. Pls may i send you a PM. I've got further enquiries based on my own peculiarities.

That depends: Is there a close relative in Canada that can invite your mom? I was in a slightly similar situation some time ago but in my case we had landed earlier that year already and returned to naija, God blessed us with another pregnancy and I needed to go with mom but I couldn't invite her cuz records may show I'm currently not in Canada. So in my case, mom and I left naija on the same day but she headed to Houston. Soon as I got to Canada we processed her Canadian visa from Houston and she got it in about 2weeks.

Thanks Blessedluvdfavd. I don't have a relative in Canada. I guess that means i can't invite her before landing.

Hello my e-fam and our seniors. Pls would you advise an unlanded immigrant to apply for visitors visa for a parent. What are the chances of being granted. Especially if the immigrants are expecting a baby.

Advise needed urgently.

Some people typed on excel and converted to PDF, i guess, it is personal.

The most important thing is submitting the details and anyway works.

Prepare it in a list as follows:
Principal Applicant - Name, Date of Birth, Height and eye color.
Dependents - same as above.

You can do it on word or excel.

Got you. Thanks a bunch.

Morbolar congratulations, you are almost at the end of the journey.

Send a mail to London-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca and ldnimmigration@international.gc.ca. Raise a cse as well. I am sure once you do that, the placeholder to upload will be available.

Thanks Yewwygraceful! I noticed the place holders are now available. One more thing please. For the height and eye colour, can we just type out on word and and convert to PDF to upload or we need a particular form.

Hello NL family. Pls we got an ADR requesting for height and eye colour and also copies of Passport biodata. This did not come with any forms or link to any form to fill. The instruction was to UPLOAD THESE DOCUMENTS TO OUR MY CIC ACCOUNT. Pls if anyone has received this request as decsribed above, kindly assist with how you went about responding. Most people i spoke to had a form attached to this ADR. All we got is the letter.

Thanks Owols. But I actually just confirmed from Diamondbank and they said they don’t issue bank drafts outside the country. They don’t do travelers cheques either, which is similar.

Hi. Pls go to GTBank at Oyin Jolayemi or any branch and tell them you need Canadian Dollar Draft. You are however expected to have a USD account from which the CAD draft wud be raised. Cheers

I appreciate your concern and kind words. However, if you see an innocent child about to step on a dangerous path, you owe it as a duty to warn the child about that path. If the child insist, then it’s okay.

In Pidgin - LVO no be better place to come oh. The people there get cold heart!

This guy....you get issues ooo. How do you even expect people whose files are in LVO to feel reading ur posts. You are highly insensitive and i wonder how you make ur close friends whose files are in LVO feel. I imagine you make their anxieties worse.

We asked the question when collecting SIN and the answer is yes but with supporting documents.

I believe you can even amend anytime you want...not having to wait until citizenship time. We will do ours once wifey's passport expires.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate your response. Guess i will change mine too when my passport expires.

Wow!! Dilemma

Thanks a lot for the input. I think i'll just slow down and do proper research so i can get this thing right without hitches.

Pls also collect the introduction letter from ur HR and add it to your employment documents. If u can send them a mail and request for a ref in CIC format and make them respond that they cant give u in CIC format...also include their response with ur docs. You will be fine. But as advised...i think u should use plain paper for ur supervisor's letter. Cheers

I recall someone asked about order of landing (she was going to land this week or so, before her family and wanted to know what was acceptable). I searched for the post so I can reply directly but couldn't find it again if you are the one, the information below is the order of landing as stated in the CoPR. All the best.

ORDER OF LANDING FOR FAMILIES/DELAYED ARRIVAL: There are two options for family landings. Whichever option you choose, it is important to remember that the principal applicant must always be the first landed.
Option A: The entire family (including the principal applicant) lands together. If you choose this option, all family members must land at the same time and at the same port of entry.
Option B: The principal applicant lands first alone. The dependants may then follow the principal applicant at a later date provided their COPR’s remain valid.

CIC States that pharmacist with work experience in Pharmacy should evaluate their Bpharm degree via PEBC. It's a long and expensive process but doable, koko is to give them what they want and in 8 weeks get your report . Pebc will evaluate the degree as a professional degree while IQAS and the rest evaluates it as a Bachelor degree.
If one is the PA I will advice such person to use pebc to avoid possible rejection

I thought so too.

Yes you need to do your ECA and I advise you do it with IQAS. It will be assessed as a Bachelors Degree. When you get to Canada, you can do the necessary qualifying exams. Your IELTS result seems good but you need to consider each band separately. if you did >= 8 in Listening and >= 7 in the other bands, you are good to go, especially if your age is less than 35 years. My final words, do your ECA and jump into the pool. Things become clearer while in the pool. Please leave out your friend in the entire process, you won't be getting any points from him.

Can Pharmacy be evaluated by IQAS. Shouldnt it be PEBC. Pls educate me if i am wrong.

Hello people,
I am about to apply for the EE. We are a family of four 2kids and 2adults. My son was born in Canada. Does he need to still do medicals since he is already a citizen and do I need to still pay the application fee for him. I am guessing I do not have to but someone was arguing that I do hence my confusion.

I dont think a citizen wud need PR o. The child may be listed in your application but i doubt u will have to pay for dat child. Seniors....pls put mouth

HR professionals in the house.. Has anyone tried to get the CPHR? Heard it is a prerequisite for HR jobs. Does anyone know the exact procedure? Check online but its all so confusing.

I would hate to move to Canada(God willing ) and sit for a few months idle due to certifications or professional licensing. Anything I can do now, let me start.

You can call them or send them a mail. I once did but i did not have the requirements....forgotten how the conversation went now but they will respond to you.
