Residents of Asaba, Delta State are yet to recover from the shock of how a 19-year-old Godwin (not real name) allegedly impregnated his mother while testing his love charm.

According to report, the boy, famously known as Ekenem, was said to have gone to a native doctor, who allegedly prepared a love charm for him to use on his mother and one of the matrons in the college where he is a boarding student.

It was gathered that the husband of the woman, who has been away for some time outside his Port Harcourt operational base, denied being responsible for the pregnancy during interrogation.
But the victim, the suspect’s mother, while speaking to journalists said, “I did not know how it all happened, but all I can say is that a young man who looked like my son suddenly found his way into my room at the wee hours and I was speechless”, adding that the whole exercise had remained inexplicable.

Speaking at the police headquarters to journalists, the suspect said, “I am deeply sorry for all that has happened, I did not mean to do this. I saw myself falling in love with her after the love charm prepared for me. I have to confess because I know by so doing, God will touch her mind and I know she will forgive me. I suddenly found that I was making love to mum when I thought the charm will not work, and upon the revelation, I threatened to kill her and the matter was reported to the police”, he said.

After news filtered in this morning that lawmakers in Enugu state today began impeachment proceedings against the state governor, Sullivan Chime.

The tide seem to have been turned as the crisis currently rocking the Enugu State House of Assembly has claimed its first casualty with the impeachment of the Speaker, Hon. Eugene Odoh.

Daily Sun reports that Odo was the head of a 15-member faction of the Enugu State House of Assembly, which commenced the impeachment process against Gov. Sullivan Chime over accusations of alleged financial misconduct.

According to The Nation, Odo was accused of promoting acts that have brought the House to ridicule.

The wife of former Manchester United and England captain Rio Ferdinand has died from cancer. The QPR defender, 36, released a statement saying his "wonderful wife and soul mate" Rebecca Ellison had "passed away peacefully" at a London hospital.

Ms Ellison, 34, who married Ferdinand in 2009, had breast cancer. She leaves behind three children, Lorenz, nine, Tate, six, and four-year-old Tia. In a statement, Ferdinand said she died on Friday night. "Rebecca, my wonderful wife, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London," the footballer said on QPR's website.

Chelsea's Jose Mourinho lacks respect for his fellow managers, says Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

to cut the long story shot, I have been living with her and two other girls whom she told me is her causins. the two girls because of their foolishness, both of them got pregnant for different men that can't even takia of them. And my friends, I became a father overnight. had to nurse their babies because the gave birth in our house.

Anyway, after confronting her again regarding my dreams, she now told me that the two girls are her daughters. Damn. I didn't know what to do again. I have beem with her for almot 3 years and living her feels like bitrayal or is it still because I don't have a job? I don't even understand myself anymore.

I even hide it from my parents and also agreed for a traditional wedding which we have done already. is anything wrong with me? she can even give me a child for 5 years now. each time she gets pregnant, it would last a week or 2 weeks it will become miscariage.

Police said on Saturday that the toll was according to an "initial estimate" and is also expected to rise.

Nepal's Information Minister Minendra Rijal told India's NDTV station that there are reports of damage in and around Kathmandu.

He said rescue teams were responding.
Photos posted on Twitter showed buildings left in rubble, large cracks along roads and worried residents on the streets. At least 50 people are trapped under an ancient tower in Kathmandu which collapsed in the quake.

The epicentre was 80km northwest of Kathmandu, he said. The Kathmandu Valley is densely populated with nearly 2.5 million, with the quality of buildings often poor.

Fire incident on the pipeline network of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Ijegun area of Lagos State.

An Urhobo militant group, Urhobo Gbagbako, on Friday claimed responsibility for Thursday night's bombing of the NPDC Oil pipelines at Ighrenene, Afiesere and Ekiugbo communities in Delta State.

The group, which made the claims in an email sent to some reporters, said it is also planning to shut down all the oil fields in Urhobo and Isoko areas.

Reports just reaching us indicate that no fewer than 25 people died in Abuja, Kano, Makurdi and Niger yesterday, while celebrating the victory of President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Vanguard reports that while 17 of the victims died in Kano, four died in Abuja, three in Kontagora, Niger State and one in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, while several others sustained injuries.

However, police authorities in Kano claimed only seven bodies were discovered by their men after the celebration.

According to an eyewitness, Ali Sufi of Naibawa quarters, three people were crushed to death at Naibawa U-turn, when a man in a Toyota Camry car lost control and rammed into those celebrating.

Sufi, further disclosed that one Sabo Ali, an ad hoc staff of communications giant, Etisalat, lost his life alongside his friend when a reckless driver knocked them down at Ungwa Uku end of Zaria Road within Kano metropolis. Ex Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo says the emergence of Gen Buhari as the President of Nigeria in last Saturday's presidential election may signify the birth of a vicious government which may maim and murder the voice of the minority ethnic groups in Nigeria. Asari expressed his fears in a statement released by his spokesperson, Rex Anigoro yesterday April 1st.

"The conditions that advanced the need to embrace the creeks have been sadly re-energised. It is clear that a vicious government who may maim and murder the voice of the so-called minorities may have just been birthed.
