We must learn to give the police credit for being able to intercept crypto wallets, apprehend protesters and harrass government critiques and also understand why it is not easy to catch these bandits who display on Tiktok.

Most of these bandits studied Internet Security at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and have interned in global IT firms like Microsoft and Kapersky.
They have mastered how to encrypt their data, mask Internet Protocol and redirect geolocations that not even Putin's Kremlin can break into.

You people just sit behind your cracked-screen 2G Tecno Pop phones and think EFCC apprehending Yahaya Bello requires the same tact and coordination as catching 45 yahoo boys.

You also don't understand that it is a far harder process with excessive bureaucratic caseworking to extradite Abba Kyari to the US than it is for teenagers guilty of sextortion.

Insecurity has drastically reduced nationwide after our security forces arrested those #EndBadGovernance protesters, but no one has shown a single appreciation to them.

But we are quick to throw tantrums because Joe Ajaero was arrested.
It is very obvious that we do not love our country.

Safe to say, i have a man crush on this guy...no homo.

Hello everyone.
As the academic session will soon draw to a close, most people in academics will be looking for upward mobility and newer challenges and I happen to fall in this category.

I reside here in Abuja and is actively looking for a better and new challenge in the academic field. I m a Bsc holder with four years experience teaching in the primary/secondary level and a part time lecturer during weekends at a satellite polytechnic.

I can provide services as a graduate assistant, class teacher, lecturer, with skills in purposeful result oriented means of passing knowledge laced in 10,000 hours of deliberate practice.

I am my own motivation and easily find it easy to motivate others in a team or those looking up to me. There is the book smart people and those with emotional intelligence, you'll find me in the middle with equal measures of both. I don't have the typical connections so here is hoping someone can make the move for me to begin great things together.

Education / Has Computer Science Been Merged Into Basic Science And Technology For JSS? by moriton(m): 11:24am On Apr 08, 2021
Hello, I'm a bit rusty with the latest subjects being taught in the junior secondary level in Nigeria and will like to get a full list of the subjects being taught at that level or any link to the official site.

My question is particularly pertinent due to the fact that I have not seen computer studies or science in the scheme of work for junior secondary and basic science and technology seem to carry some aspect of the subject. Any useful feedback will be very much appreciated.

Thanks.
Education / Nairalanders, What Does The Share Button Do by moriton(m): 8:27am On Feb 23, 2021
I have been here a while and probably ignorant but does the share button do anything?.

I understand the like button to mean your support of a particular post or comment but the share, who are you sharing it to/with?. Like if you're done typing a document you want to share options like WhatsApp, Cloud, Fb, come up but here in nairaland nothing. I want to know please.

And if in the process it does nothing except used for voting like I see some people do on a given topic. I propose we now take share to mean downvote or dislike button.

I almost stopped reading your piece @Frankraj when I read "is this how Rivers state girls used to do??".

What is it with you people and hasty generalizations. ONE person from ONE part of Rivers State behaves in a certian peculiar way and you you're asking if that's how ALL of them there behave. It's time you think better, not even twins behave the same.

And like someone said, you're slowly being cooked for a heavy price and you better don't fall for it. That's if you don't allow your hormones and anxiety cloud your reasoning.

Ok. Straight to the point. The Premier League Starts this weekend and having seen this on my darling football365 brought it to Nairaland to ask folks here to make their predictions and let's see how it pans out at the end of the 2020/2021 Premier League Season.

The focus for now is on the Premier League and Champions league. Without further ado here are my own personal predictions.

WHO WILL WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE

As a United fan, I'll concede we're not there yet especially with the dithering in buying players. I'll look no further than LIVERPOOL successfully defending their title.

REST OF THE TOP FOUR

Man City
Chelsea
Man United

TEAMS TO BE RELAGATED

Fulham
Aston Villa
Wes Brom

I don't think Aston Villa can pull off their escape again. Wes Brom are going right back like Fulham.

WHICH CLUB WILL BE A PLEASANT SURPRISE

I can't look past Leeds who have a fantastic manager and their lily whites kinda reminds of Real Madrid.

GOLDEN BOOT WINNER

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Maybe because I want him in my fantasy premier league side, or maybe because I don't see anyone in Arsenal than can outscore him bar any serious long term injury.

WHICH SIGNING WILL HAVE THE GREATEST IMPACT?

If only Sancho could come and make that vacated number 7 Jersey his ( what's the holdup Woodward?). But James Rodriguez for 20mill? With Ancelotti, I see him having a great impact in Everton and the EPL.

AND WHICH NEW SIGNING WILL TURN OUT TO ME A MASSIVE FLOP?

I must confess I haven't seen him play but I'll let my United bais cloud my judgement and say it has to be one of Chelsea's gazillion attackers, sorry Kai Harvertz, or is Kia Rio.

WHICH SIGNING WILL BE A BARGAIN

20Million for Eberechi Eze might have broken Crystal Palace signing records. But the clips I have seen of him alongside the Niaja blood that flows in his veins makes me tip him to be a bargain á la VVD.

WHO WILL WIN THE PFA PLAYER OF THE YEAR?

Kevin D... Scratch that, Bruno Fernandez. I mean why not. Might be looking at this through United tinted glasses but hey why not.

FIRST MANAGER TO BE SACKED

David Moyes. Still haven't forgiven him for what he did to my club. I mean SAF choosed you. No, it's not SAF's fault.

WHO WILL WIN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Bayern Munich. Yes, their squad is now old but they still have young players. Barca fans look away now but that turn by Alphonsos on Semedo can only get better right? I 8 2 to this cheesy but it's true.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TOP SCORER

Has to that GOAT in the black and white strip that recently scored a century of goals for his country. Rumour has it that Champions League Goals are what gives him appetite to decimate defenses and boy is he hungry to feed on them. That Ronald Though, is he a Christian? No?

FIRST PLAYER TO SEE RED

The ever graceful, delightful and tenacious Joey Barton. What do you mean he's no longer in the EPL, I mean I see David Luiz in him.

Ok. That will be it people. Drop your predictions below and let's all see how it goes. Have a good day all.

This initiative is new and those familiar with how this matrix works, the first participants stand to benefit more and first.

Properties / Introducing: Mass Housing Nigeria by moriton(m): 2:33pm On Sep 10, 2020
What is masshousingng?

Masshousingng is a platform created to give you a house of your choice, ranging from a duplex to a block of flat depending on your choice.

Most of you must have heard of Crowdfunding, and most of us are very familiar with Esusu or Adjo, it means a group of people coming together to fund a project.

For example, a duplex of 38 million naira ( which is our price ), what the system does is it shows you the number of people you need to fund your project, and your project will be delivered on completion, while the people who funded yours, theirs will be funded as well.

Its a matrix, when you sign in you bring in 3 people the system will also assist you to match people as well.

You bring 3 people, the 3 people will bring 9 people
your 9 people will bring in 18 people
18 people will bring in 27 people.

At level 5 the system must have crowded the funds to get you land first, for example, our land may cost 6million Naira our system will get you land from the place of your choice within the price range, and we will execute a MOUand a transfer of C. of O of that land.

Each person that signs in on your referral code you get a 30% bonus. for, example Mr A signs in with a commitment of 70,000Naira, the system will deduct 30% of that 70,000 Naira and put it in your wallet which will be uploaded on your dash Board and credited to your mass housingnng account.

The percentages are the money that will groom to buy your own house.

The major things needed is
Registering on the portal,
Chose the kind of apartment you want to raise a fund for,
Pay the fee and Register 3 of your friends or family who needs to buy a home as well.

We run a transparent module, You get a password and username to your portal, where you can sign in at any time and see how much progress you have made.

We have people on our board and a lot of people are making progress. It is a buisness module which is focused on addressing the housing deficit in Nigeria.

All you need to do is get on board, make the calculation and you can achieve the dream of you getting a house.

Science/Technology / Top 10 Tech Myths That Just Won’t Die by moriton(m): 12:23pm On Jun 11, 2020
10. Putting Batteries in the Freezer makes them last longer

I remember those days. After hours of playing pokemon on my Gameboy and going through my last set of AA batteries, my intense gaming session is brought to an abrupt halt as my game powers down. Feeling defeated, I throw my batteries into the freezer in a desperate attempt to continue hunting legendary pokemon. Unsurprisingly, this never worked.

Fun fact: putting your batteries in the freezer actually shortens their life. This is because when you put batteries in the freezer, the temperature in the battery drops (go figure), and when you take them out of the freezer the temperature quickly rises. Some sources claim that this can make a battery explode, while others suggest the sudden temperature change causes condensation which leads to corrosion. Long story short, don’t put your batteries in the freezer.

9. Charging your phone overnight ruins the battery

How many times have you heard that if you put your phone on the charger overnight you will ruin your battery? Thankfully, a lot of people are beginning to catch on and I’m hearing this myth a lot less. However, for those of you who still believe this is true, you’re sadly mistaken. We’ve reached an age with technology (mainly our smartphones) that allow us to do incredible things. It’s called a smartphone for a reason folks. Smartphones are able to slow down the rate of charging as it gets closer to 100% and once there it won’t get overloaded with too much energy like most people seem to think. So, go ahead and put your phone on the charger for as long as you want, it won’t damage your battery in the process.

8. Sitting too close to the TV harms you

Ok this one isn’t that bad since sitting right in front of the TV isn’t the best idea but not for the reason you think. Oh, the nostalgia. I can remember pressing my face up against the screen while enjoying my favorite cartoons as a child. For some reason, it made me feel as if I was getting closer to the characters. Like I was pushing up against the fourth wall until I entered into their colorful universe. Whenever I did this, my mom would scold and prompt me to “get away from there,” as quickly as possible. The myth that TV is harmful comes from the fact that they emitted x-rays from the screen. Nowadays, the TVs we have release little to no waves so it should never harm you, unless you spend all your waking life with your face up against the TV and even then, it probably won’t do much damage. Hopefully, you didn’t do the poltergeist and press your palms flat against the TV like Carol Anne when you were a child because the TVs back in the 50s and 60s packed a lot more x-ray power.

7. Macbooks can’t get viruses

This is one myth that I fell for. When I first got my brand new macbook, I was super excited about the fact that I wouldn’t have to deal with the deadly blue screen or those pesky viruses that Windows computers are plagued with. Little did I know (or that I didn’t care to pay attention to) there are always going to be people out there to ruin a good thing. Yeah, it’s true that there are fewer viruses out there for the MacBook’s programming, but they can get viruses nonetheless. It took a great mind to design the MacBook and it takes a great mind to try and steal your info when you download unknown software. So think twice before visiting shady websites and clicking on their links. There’s only so much a half-eaten apple can do, and blocking viruses isn’t one of them.

6. Incognito Mode hides what you’re viewing on the Internet

It’s late-night and the wife is asleep. You attempt to wake her by whispering her name but she stays fast asleep. Feeling relieved, you take your phone to the bathroom for a bit of privacy and begin browsing the internet. Trying to keep what you’re viewing completely private, you open up Google Chrome and you open up an incognito window. Now, with complete privacy you click on the Google search bar and type in, “last-minute anniversary gifts,” because hiding the fact that you forgot to get your wife an anniversary gift is the only reason I can think of using incognito mode, right? There’s one problem though, your data is still being saved by the sites you visit and hackers can still access your information. Even though your browsing history is hidden, if your wife wanted to contact the internet provider and find out what you’ve been up to, she technically could do so.

5. You Need An Expensive HDMI Cord

Ok, this myth is one that I’m sure a lot of Listverse readers would enjoy learning about as it could potentially save you a few extra bucks. People seem to think that the more expensive HDMI cord on the shelf works better than the ones with a lower price tag, but the truth is, that they all do the same thing. Virtually all HDMI cords are created equal, the only thing that you may find that can justify paying more money for an HDMI cord is the length. The longer it is, the more expensive it is. Otherwise, don’t waste your money on these cords. Incidentally, this is true for a lot of cables, including audio cables for sound equipment and recording devices!

4. It’s dangerous to use your phone while it’s charging

Word of mouth is a powerful tool when used correctly, but in the hands of people who lack proper analytical skills, some down-right laughable statements can get thrown around. Whether this myth is based on some truth or just some sort of urban legend that people love to reiterate to their friends to seem interesting for a moment, it has to be clear this isn’t true. Now, phones have exploded before. After you read the rest of this article, take a second to look up a few videos of phones exploding in people’s pockets. It happens. But charging your phone and using it at the same time doesn’t put you at risk of having your phone blowing up in your hand like a grenade that was cooked too long. Long story short, go ahead and plug in your phone and scroll through tik tok until your heart’s content, it won’t cause you any harm.

3. Hair Dryers don’t cure coronavirus

Now, I’m pretty sure people have already caught on to this myth but there may be a few people out there who still believe the hype. Hey, no judgment from me.The hairdryer up the nose myth comes from one of the most difficult times we have had to endure as American people, so it’s understandable that people were looking for a way to halt the progression of the deadly coronavirus. Apparently, heat kills the virus, so some brave people took it upon themselves to put a hairdryer against their nose and turned it on in hopes that they could cook out the virus. People have tried many self-prescribed home remedies to stop the virus. Bottom line is that these don’t work and you should always look to vitamins and medicine during pandemics. Well, that and whatever the doctor recommends.

2. You have to shut down your computer every night

Despite knowing this is a myth I still make sure I shut down my computer every night. Apparently, people believe that shutting down your computer every night will help it to run better the next time you use it and help to increase its longevity overall. Computers, much like many devices, have a built-in power system that keeps it from overusing too much power, so you won’t have to worry about leaving it on all night.

1. You Shouldn’t Use a Third Party Charger.

I can picture it, a bunch of secret shoppers hired by Sprint to walk around near the off-brand chargers and whisper to the customers that they shouldn’t buy them because it can “damage your battery.” How else would a rumored myth like this one spread? There has to be some manufacturer’s way to keep its existing customers from buying third-party products, right? Ok, I’m getting ahead of myself, but you have to admit that this at least sounds plausible.Anyway, you can save an extra dollar or two and buy those third-party chargers for your phone, it won’t ruin your battery. So, the next time you buy a Wal-Mart charger for your android, and someone says to you. “Hey, that can ruin your phone battery,” assume that they’re working for Sprint or some other big-name phone company.

Literature / Love Or Lust? I'm Lost! by moriton(m): 9:16am On Jun 07, 2020
She swears she's never been in love and is used to being abused by men.
A fire burns in my soul at those words, and who I'm I to blame.

She's very gorgeous and it's hard to look past without having seizure.
But I'll be damned men in her life has turned her to a sex figure.

She probably gave them her heart out on a whimp expecting to be loved.
They say they love her back and she thinks half of her problem is solved.

Only to be engaged on sex romps, joining in on drugs and smoking weed.
And be cheated on, back to square one, heartbroken, choking indeed.

I understand all she's been through and persuade her to start all over again with me.
I know what you've been through and you'll no longer know what that pain will be.

Slowly she gives in and I take her out more than once, babe smile, forget them ex.
Respecting her and genuinely enjoying her company, last thing I wanted was sex.

Then mother nature conspires with father time after a month to test my resolve.
The kisses are now giving me a hard on I gotta stay strong.

A week later I hear you don't really love me, why don't you wanna get down between the sheets.
I say you have a warped understanding of love, _you acting like one who's been in the street_

A little argument and I don't hear from her in like two days
The third day we meet and she apologises and stays.

She takes a nap and I go through her phone out of boredom.
I probably shouldn't have, for I saw Gomorrah and Sodom

Past two days shoty went back to her ex, fuxked and even has latest pics of his meat.
Grossed out I lay wondering what made me dig a hoe who belonged to the streets!

Need a new tutor for
I have failed Lord Future.

Education / Best Answer For How Was Your Night! by moriton(m): 1:50pm On Apr 03, 2018
So I just read a post here on nairaland saying asking somebody how was your night is a no no no. I did grin a little reading it though. The analysis therein only further buttress a funny yet realistic way of answering the “i-really-care-about-you" question of how was your night.

So next time in the morning someone calls in or text hey how was your night?. Simply reply comically “i don't know I was sleeping". That's if in fact you did have nightmares like of bubu's ‘wonderful economy', but actually slept fine. Having been using this I usually get a laugh from them first and then something in the way of that means you slept fine na. It not only illicit some kinda fun but shows a bit of creative forward thinking.

Warning:
Must be used sparingly, over use could lead to flat out dumb looks like the tits of a virgin on a certain #BBN. much better responses are welcome.

Sports / The Ever-changing Relationship Between Mourinho And United by moriton(m): 12:06am On Nov 10, 2017
Jose Mourinho is a man I love and also hate. I’ve always had a begrudging respect for people in football who manage to boil piss and Mourinho does this better than most. As Manchester United fans, we’ve experienced this fairly acutely over the years.

When he first was drawn to our attention, he was the Porto manager, knee sliding on the Old Trafford touchline. We had lost 2-1 away from home in the first leg of our round of 16 Champions League tie, yet everything looked to be going our way at Old Trafford.

Paul Scholes put us 1-0 up with half an hour played and just before half-time scored the goal that should have seen us through the next round. Despite being a couple of yards onside, the linesman raised his flag, and the goal was disallowed. In injury time, Porto equalised and they booked their place in the quarter-finals.

Mourinho went on to win the Champions League that season and as a result was named the next manager of Chelsea. Roman Abramovich wanted to turn the west London club in to a European giant. They had won the league title just once before and with the money he made available, dwarfing the transfer funds of every other team in a way never seen before, it looked like their dominance under Mourinho was indefinite.

Had we known then what we know now, that Mourinho is a manager who hits the self-destruct button with any club he spends more than two seasons with, we wouldn’t have worried.

In his third season, Sir Alex Ferguson proved beyond doubt that he is the best manager this country has ever seen. With every year that passes since his retirement, his legacy grows, as we become all the more aware of how difficult it is to win the title in consecutive seasons, let alone building title winning team after title winning team at the same club.

Mourinho threw his toys out of the pram in his third year at Chelsea though. He repeatedly claimed United had the referees to thank for their superior position and started a nasty war of words with a young Cristiano Ronaldo, pointing to his poor background, with “no education”, for the reason why our former no.7 correctly claimed Mourinho didn’t know how to admit his own failings.

Mourinho has had a whole host of misdemeanours on his record since then which meant many United fans, including myself, didn’t want him anywhere near our club. Sticking his thumb in Tito Vilanova’s eye socket, the disgraceful sexism which lead to the sacking of Eva Carneiro, not giving young players a chance in the team, lying about then Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard supposed visit to Anders Frisk’s dressing room which lead to death threats for the referee and his premature retirement, and so on.

But he’s a confusing man. A few months ago he set himself up for the embarrassment of being a goalkeeper in the charity game that raised money for the victims of Grenfell, as the most high profile person to feature in the match. He showed up at a press conference following Claudio Ranieri’s sacking with the manager’s initials on his shirt and said Leicester should name the stadium after him. After suffering an embarrassing 4-2 defeat against Bradford in the FA Cup with Chelsea he visited the opposition dressing room and shook every players’ hand, congratulating them on their win.

Mourinho is supposed to be the bad guy, the pantomime villain, but every now and again he shows glimpses of being a really good guy, who is compassionate and magnanimous, but these moments are usually fleeting.

The occasion that probably stands out more in the memory of United fans than any other is his reaction to Real Madrid knocking us out of the Champions League in 2013. United were in total control before the ridiculous decision to send off Nani. Ferguson was described as “distraught” after the game and wouldn’t fulfil his media obligations. Hindsight tells us this was down to the fact he knew this was his last involvement in the competition as he would retire at the end of the season.

“Independent of the decision, the best team lost. We didn’t deserve to win but football is like this,” Mourinho said after the game. “I know Manchester United are giants, not just physically but mentally. I know they have a manager who can motivate them.”

It was in this moment that Mourinho confirmed what many United fans had thought all along; he wanted the job as our manager.

There were claims he cried when he learnt that Ferguson had chosen David Moyes over him, leading him to take up the job at Chelsea instead. Yet in 2016, United finally appointed him. He claimed there had always been a “connection” between him and the club and that he got a feeling at Old Trafford he never had elsewhere.

Mourinho’s first game in charge was a friendly at Wigan. United took a whole stand and this was the beginning of Mourinho understanding what his new club’s support was like.

“What I found was unbelievable for the first time in my career,” he said. “The support for a friendly like this was like it was a crucial Premier League match. Unbelievable.”

His first year at United was filled with similar comments. He has repeatedly talked of how he’s never experienced fans as dedicated as ours.

“I’ve managed several clubs and I have never seen such unrivalled passion,” he said in March. “The stadium is full every time we play and the support the players receive is special.”

Whenever he plays Chelsea, he taps the United badge on his chest, and winds them up by reminding them he is their best ever. “Judas is number one,” he told them last season following the boos and jeers he suffered in the cup game at Stamford Bridge.

United fans are in a fortunate position though. It doesn’t matter who takes charge of the club as nobody will ever rival the success of Ferguson. Mourinho is Chelsea’s greatest ever manager, winning half of the league titles they’ve achieved in their entire history, and he breaks their heart every time he points to United’s crest.

Our fans will never have the same dilemma though. We are both using each other. It doesn’t matter much who he goes on to manage or what he has to say about their supporters in comparison to ours. He can rock up at PSG and talk about it being the best “project” of his life but it doesn’t mean anything.

Mourinho’s ego is satisfied by managing the country’s biggest club and being in a position to add to his trophy tally. United supporters are looking for anyone who can restore some pride in the club and salvage the damage after the dismal years of Moyes and Louis van Gaal.

He can make up nonsense about the fans not supporting Lukaku, make snide digs in the programme notes and flirt with PSG. This irritates our fans but it’s not the be all and end all. He’s a means to an end. We can enjoy him pissing everyone else off, we can celebrate the trophies he wins, but we’re fully aware it’s only transient. We just have to hope we can get a league title or European Cup out of him before he self destructs
