TravelRe: South-Africa: The Worst Place To Live? by morpheus24: 5:11pm On Sep 25, 2009
^ what part is BULL or not accurate.

The part where its stated the problem already existed or the part where it is being magnified.

As if before 1994, 26, 27 and 28 gangs did'nt exist in SA prisons in the Western cape.

Street gangs didn't exist in the townships.

"Jack rollers" didn't  commit the same rapes, gang robberies and car jackings.

Saffers weren't addicted to alcohol and Drugs.(Tot systems)

Drug markets didn't exist in the townships( especially in the cape)

Unemployment wasn't high inthe townships (unless you want to conside menial miner jobs and housegirls as dignifiying labor)

Now that all access doors have been open to every facet of the society you really believe these same thugs will not have access to  a larger market area to perpetrate their diabolical deeds. Please I am far from sentimental racist card pullling. Fact is Fact.

The only point I will agree with is the government have not been agressive enough in tackling these issues on a national scale . This does not however deny the overt propaganda of de-legitimizing the new government as unqualified commy/socialist and backward when they have been left to deal with the left over effects of apatheid compounded with large streams of immigrants flowing intothe country.

For a black led African government operating for the past 15 years. They are actually doing relatively well in comparison to the southern region.

TIA_ THIS IS AFRICA.

@ Kobojunkie

I think you should stick to Nigerian political affairs as you are not quite versed with subject matters concerning "South Africa". Everything Cap 28 mentioned is absolutely and unequivocally accurate based on pure rational and very little sentiment.

if it is not obvious to you the negative campaign agenda geared towards the ANC government please open up your eyes.

All the problems that are being experienced right now in SA were there before the ANC took power and were shielded from the former rulling class only to be magnified now as issues that have arised because of majority black rule.

On this one You score 0 points.

You should ask why the gove is seemingly turning a blind eye. Could it be capitalist interests.
Foreign AffairsRe: Why Nigerians Don't Tap Into South African Market? by morpheus24: 8:16pm On Sep 23, 2009
@ yeswecan
unfortunately they inherited this rightwing capitalist resentment from the apatheid era(nationalist party). it will take time.

This is not to excuse our Nigerian brethren who are causing havoc over there, but advocating killing of people like animals is inhuman.

I wil not stand for that.

^@ ezeagu

There is nothing such as a capoid or caucosoid race. This is outdated pseudo science. There are only human populatons clustered by similar pheno and Genotypes.

Please updated your studies.
PoliticsRe: Tomb Art From Ancient Egypt: A Black African Civilization (pics) by morpheus24: 9:19pm On Sep 22, 2009
I would like to add that though I am of the agreement that Egypt was an African civilization and therefore "Black" as the term is used today. One should be careful when using this as an arguement. One must first define the loose term "Black" as there are others outside of Africa who share similar skin tones.

THere are obvious genotypical and phenotypical differences btw West Africans populations and North East African populations significant enough to describe each group as its own distinct population with distinct cultures.

However it has become clear that ancient Egyptians and other Africans have been proven to have more affinities in terms of the above stated terms more so than an English man from England, which dispells the "True Negro" Myth propagated by 19th and much of 20th century anthropology.

To use the term "Black" and "African" together to me is a misnomer

Rebarobyn:
This thread is not about Nigeria being a small brother or SA being a big brother, neither is it about Nigeria being overrated. It is about the reasons why Nigerians don't tap into the SA market. it is people like you that start all these SA-Nigeria arguments.

You said SA peeps know how to bring Nigerians to the earth, I'm in shock lipsrsealed, please enlighten me by telling me howhuh
@ Rebarobyn

Naija is quickly loosing the Prestige SHE once held. We need to start innovating so as not be left behind in this Global information age.
We are allowing a small minority to dictate our image around the world and must do everything within our means to curb this.

The image being furnished in SA is not a good one despite how small the population that are promoting this negative image. Our non chalant attitude about this simply reflects the same attitude of the Governemtn who do not care about its own citizenry. If this attitude continues we will become very irrelevant on the continent.

The power we have in SA and round the world is very evident and we need to harness it despite the propagated negative stereotypes.

SA on the other hand is not doing too well as far as image is concerned so they have their own work to do Hiv, crime, unskilled labor force, xenophobia, nepotism and so on, if they continue to blame other Africans aka "Foreigners" for all these issues, they will in the long run be the ultimate loosers. Their peopel need to understand the 21st century and its global complexities as this is part of the freedom they have long been fighting for.

I have always wondered how Europeans, indians and others are viewed as "tourists/investors" and other Africans as "foreigners". This is a problem that needs to be addressed head on and solutions brought about as soon as possible.

All this shouting will not do nothin!.
TV/MoviesRe: Silverbird Cinemas Bans District 9 by morpheus24: 2:22pm On Sep 22, 2009
Let me Reiterate. I support the ban.

I can't be insulted because a hand full of Nigerians are defining our image in the International community.

You have to make noise and fight back wherever you can.
