Well, as the distinguished history keeper of this great association, its my duty to present to us all in this grand event, the history of this thread, and subsequently the prestigious association of local men and women (AOLMAW) OF NNPC.

The thread was created by one of our very own @dmainman on Wednesday, the 13th of march 2019 at exactly 2:39pm. In turned out one of the most decorated government owned company had published an advert for vacancies in its various subsidiaries..

Till this very day, the number of persons who registered online for the recruitment is unknown though some sources has stated something in the range of 800 thousand and/or above. Registration process was greatly marred by difficlties in uploading passports which made a good number of applicant to fall out of the race.

A month after the online registration closed came the invite for a cbt test.. It is rumoured among local men that about 60000 persons wrote the cbt test around the country in about 190 cbt test centers... The cbt test was considerably thought to be 'cheap' by a good number of local men and women while others felt it was a deliberate setup by the organizers as they were very aware of online platforms like this one that had dished out various test past questions with a lot of difficult samples. Yours faithfully, the distinguished historian wrote his cbt in one of the middle belt states, 7am and he was very excited as evident to the cordinators as he had looked forward to this for "years".

Invite for interview came less than a month after the cbt exams were conducted.. It came with mixed feelings as joy sparkled the air for those who had received while those who did not receive broke down amidst tears.
It is worthy to note that this period was crucial to the formation of the prestigious association of local men and women as it brought pioneers of the association into limelight, notable amongst these great men and women are:

Sir jarus, mosgoon, enireqx, teaser4, beeam, chasteguy, macgyver1, gbyms, csrockefeller, gbriels, mathology, sempumpingson woman, danxplore, mosphy4, klassd, 22general,larride, bodylicious, stevie55, benflash, enrypech, tejiri44, C1212, jobseeker, cybersecfeeak, swargu, realisticj, greatken, sandieeee, emmyteetosin, dorado, darella, geektrovert, sibabe and the thespark, souljar etc, special mention to Xfire, and my humble self, number5.

Prior to a 9days interview experience conducted at the Nnpc towers, central business district abuja. Intelligent men and women displayed professionalism and decorum as we all prepared towards the experience of a life time. Its worthy to note that it was at this junction that a certain mosaic4gooners ex mckinsey, way ahead of the world dude came into limelight. He offered to share a room with anyone interested at sheraton hotels and towers just a few minuites drive from central area, abuja.. It remains unknown if anyone enjoyed his offer, but that young man would go a long way to make ripples and leave his marks on the sands of time in this thread.

Interview came and went and the AOLMAW was born, chasteguy with the memes, teaser4 with the cut edge pidgin, jarus with overcomposure, sempumping with the pumping sauce, beeam with the agbero mentality, and ehmmmm, mosgoon with LOMS

It was also at this point were LOMS was making air waves that burnt sources, zobo and checking of something was introduced. The aforementioned, are the non-negligible signature of the members of the association of local men and women.

At some point, other notable persons joined the race and added soured sauce (ladyjane, ladyheaven, ademmy, cliffwood, tonyhopkins, easymoneysniper, timilehinpeter, etc)

The access bank theory propounded by larride and the one percent theory by flowolf09 remains the official theory of this great association till date though the journey has been characterized by notable players jumping ship, most notably from the Access bank theory ship (popularly known as ABT) players like beeam, darella, chasteguy, swargu, flow09, sempumpingson, enireqx, cocococo and its founder, larride.. The impact of the ABT theory was most felt at the time when a certain anyam 'king in the north' terhemba ran rampage and did great havoc among the members of the association. Special mention in that period to cocococo, a brother who was massively hit by king anyams sniper aim and he 'lost his ability to can' ..

Massive shots by king anyam, and his two foot soldiers, farouk freedom and lazarus maikalu ensured that even someone as rigid as jarus confessed that its not an easy life for a local man trying to can.

We can't forget the bromance that broke out between members of the association in the course of the run of time. Notably experienced were between jiang and pumpingson, chasteguy and ladyjane, etc

Brethren, ladies and mentlegen, what is left of the recruitment is undoubtedly a few days but the periods that spanned from inception till date is one wich will never be forgotten by the members of this prestigious thread, NNPC hq, nairaland community and the ghost readers.

If you're years into the future reading this post.. No matter were the eagle landed, be very well assured that we made a name for ourselves, we carved a niche, we made our prints in the sands of our time, and against all odds, every single member of this prestigious association went on to have a wonderful and successful career.

At this junction, i would crave our indulgence to observe a minuite silence to one of our senior brother/colleague who lost his life in the course of the run of time (NNPC HR STAFF WHO DIED 3rd September 2019, MR DEWARI AYE) A minuite silence.


Special mention to the official dreamer of the association, all local men and women i failed to mention and all the ghost readers, and all who had to put up with our attitudes, banter and jokes whilist looking for ONLY serious info this post would not be complete if i dont chip in my official meme (find attached)

Okay, since NNPC has decided not to grace my birthday with APL and there seem to be nothing much to discuss on the thread, lemme gist small about my experience from the beginning �, So I've always wanted to work in NNPC specifically and was opportuned to work close to one of the refineries, whenever I get to meet any of the staff I try to find out when there will be recruitment but keep getting "not yet" as the reply until one fateful day, I asked a staff and he said "keep ur ears to the ground 'cos it's going to be very soon", then few weeks later a night before the the link went viral he sent the link to me, being the good Samaritan I am, I first sent to close friends and family and then the next day when I decided to apply, my village people were doing their thing, network was trebily slow and then passport refused to upload �, finally sent to a close friend who helped me upload and submit, the "staff" then sent me the past questions that later went viral and asked that I started preparing, but being a lover of crash program that I am and the adrenaline rush that comes with it�, I no even open nam untill when CBT messages were sent, I then started the jacking, came to my beloved nairaland and was even more confused on what to read and what not too �, I shall crashed everything together, got to the exam and was part of the very fortunate "9am" batch. After the exam I wasn't even sure of what to think, imagine coming out of the exam Hall and then overhearing some answers you knew you answered wrongly, yeah, came to my beloved nairaland and everyone was saying how easy it was, I was glad the answers to the "9am" questions were not discussed, I wasn't ready for heartbreak, tried restraining myself but couldn't stop from searching some answers online which turned out to be correct thereby calming me down a bit, fast forward to that beautiful day, I had meetings that morning forgot my phone in the car, on getting my phone a few hours later, saw missed calls and the pop up message from NNPC, I couldn't control myself, I had to hide somewhere and jump up and down, a colleague saw me and was like "what is it, what is it" I just smiled, fast forward to preparation for interview, went for Jarus's mock interview and it was indeed helpful, then I went ahead to cramm all the crammables �, everything from the signing in was like a faze until it was time to meet the panel and I was suddenly pressed guess the tension was much, anyway being the first on the list, I entered before the remaining guys, guess what "the staff" was amongst the panel..........To be continued

I rarely comment on here... but I would like to plead with you all not to derail this NNPC thread with whether there is a god or not!

I know many who are going through this recruitment process -- and we rely on this thread for info -- but we do not comment. Imagine if we all comment with all type of jargons on here, then most of us will miss out on important information.

With you all lampooning those sharing important tips - and question hints, I want you all to understand something... Yes, this is a competition, but we are different. I was feeling confident myself on the day of the interview -- I was armed with tips and hints that I have picked up on here.

While waiting to be called into the interview room, I witnessed two great guys visibly shake before they went into the rooms. I saw peeps who were jovial while waiting came out with a straight face. I particularly saw a guy whose experience on his CV was outstanding -- as in, we were literally congratulating him that he was going to ace this interview -- but what happened? First, his CV was badly arranged and worded -- and he did the unthinkable, he had his CV printed on both faces of the A4 paper. We could have cursed him out while pointing it out to him, but we encouraged him instead. When he came out, he couldn't manage to smile. When he eventually flashed his teeth, it was a grin.

That was when I started to be self-conscious -- then I lost my self-balance. I started shaking. Wow!

I received greeting/sitting/appearance hints from the guy ushering us in -- and he was open enough to say many have failed on that. DO NOT SIT BEFORE BEEN OFFERED A SEAT. BUTTON YOUR SUIT WHEN YOU GO IN, UNBUTTON WHEN YOU SIT DOWN.

I did as I was told, started well -- until I got the technical question that was related to my university course of study -- I couldn't answer the first, the guy was cool enough to assist me, and when we both concluded I have no idea, he beckoned on the other panelists (they were all four) that could he ask me another question, and they replied YES. And then he asked a newer question, which I answered. But he wasn't convinced enough - as though he wanted a textbook definition of that. We want back and forth over it, and then we moved on. Then came the first situational judgment question, and the technical guy urged me to speak deeply again. Before I got the second situational question, I was urged to go deeply and all. So I did, and I was told I was spending too much time talking. The 5th and last question been on safety. He said give me 4 tips. Once I read out the 4 tips, he said I should give him one more, that I should make it 5. I lost my balance again for the second time on that day -- I couldn't say a thing till they all muttered TIME UP, and they asked if I have a question. I did ask, and they were taken aback -- like there was no answer for me, and the Chief panelist threw the question back to me, and it looked as if I had been trapped. Wow, I lost my balance again! Till I left the room!

So, getting questions tips does not do much if you will not carry yourself well. In fact, you do not even know what the interviewers are looking at.

So, let people share if they wish - it doesn't affect their chances. Federal character will be employed in choosing the successful candidates -- do not disregard the man-know-man connections that will make it happen for some persons too.

Alas, a little bit of luck & grace is needed. Let's hope for the best! I can't wait for the testimonies that would be shared on this platform when many of us are sent the APL! Good luck!
