The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said it has no reason to doubt the validity of the results on Akwa Ibom State. The NCDC had confirmed 5 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Akwa Ibom on Wednesday, 01/04/2020.

However, the Commissioner of Health Dr. Domini Ukpong, contested the claim, insisting that nobody tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the state.

Come Friday 8th of November 2019, Akwa Ibom State University is set to award various degrees, certificates and prizes to 2,000 of her graduating students in the 4th and 5th combined convocation ceremony.
