Kai off the ball is the only thing he can offer this team of we want to be sincere. Just that Teta risking that to make teamplay minus one is the crux of most of us. Guy is a better player as a sub. He proved that tonight. He almost wasted that assist anyway. Na draw game for end. Yasu header needed just one reaction-shot.

The fact that teta started him from bench shows that this man realizes he can't do that rubbish against pep. As for me, let him be coming off the bench. He's not big enough and influential enough to be given a starting shirt consistently. Till then sha.
We all know some fans have refused to see past the media slandering of Kai. However, I disagree with the bolded. He received the ball with his back to goal and with several city defenders waiting behind him. How exactly do you want him to take that 'one reaction-shot'?

If he had shoot and messed up, you would still have blamed him for not passing to Martinelli instead.

On the contrary, I think Kompany is doing fine tactically. He is just let himself down by underestimating the strength of the EPL and didn't really build a strong squad.

They are set up well, defending in a nice tactical pattern. However, player quality to execute is poor.

He needs to refresh the team with some high quality experience players in some critical positions and he can pull off an escape from relegation.
Why not play the tactic that suits his current players? This is just an excuse.

If you have taken the time to read how Royal Antwerp play, you will conclude that we don't have wingers with skill sets that can do what Balikwisha does for Antwerp.

As far as Balikwisha is fit, he will always start games.
Except our wingers improve in those skill sets.

AFC: 3 slots
CAF: 2 slots,
Concacaf: 2 slots

Ok. We should be able to get a slot.

Rodri is currently the best midfielder in the world, the gulf in class is not too close. He bosses every game and comes up clutch in the goalscoring department as well.

Rice for me is not even the best DM in his own team. A fit Partey is better than Rice. Being fit is part of the game though.

I'm not being bias at all, I'll 100 percent take Partey ahead of Rice. But Rice is also good but not better or equal to Rodri and even Partey in my opinion.
I think you should refer to his previous post to understand my point.

He was referring to their playing style not who is better. IMO, there is really no difference between Rodri and Rice in term of playing style which is why his choices was surprising.

Could the dearth of quality AMs in the National team be a direct consequence of our poor performance in youth football in recent years?

Our various youth teams have been the production line thru which we get quality Midfielders in the past.

Etim Esin, Mutiu Adepoju, Jay Jay okocha, Thompson Oliha,Wilson Oruma, pius Ikedia,Mikel obi, Haruna lookman all came thru the youth ranks.

Our local league hasn't really come thru for us in this regard with only Friday Ekpo the only quality Midfielder I can identify that the league has given us and it is not every time quality Midfielders pop up randomly in Europe. Only Sunday Oliseh, Joel obi and Obodo have popped up for some time.

We might need to pay more attention to the youth teams u17 to u23 if we need to discover more AMs for the NT.
You raised a nice point. That's why missing the next U17 WC is bad for our football. Imagine the talents in that team...Mbata, Light Eke and co.... chai

In fact, I expect Nelson and Smith Rowe to push for transfer this coming season if they are really serious about playing football because I don’t know what else they have to do to convince Arteta.

It is certain that Arteta will spend another money to get backup players for the same positions these guys were meant to be backup players. The problem is he might end up going the Havertz route if does.
They can go for all I care. Infact, they should table the transfer request in January.

I am actually not worried about this loss. Arteta was so foolish to start Saka. very very very foolish. Man limped off against Spurs, he started him against Bournemouth. We're 3 goals up but he didn't sub him out until the kid finally broke down. You still get the mind to play him 4 days later.

However, that still won't take away the fact that all of the players were shit yesterday.

And Raya? we dey look

Who is this Bukayo Saka?

BTW, only Timber is sidelined as Partey resumes full training.

Man city Goal difference is 12 , while Arsenal’s is 9. We should pay attention to closing down on the goal difference as we dey win too .

1-0 or 2-1 win over any mid table team should not be acceptable going forward

On serious note, I said something similar few weeks ago on this thread. Small Newcastle sef dey wire teams 8-0. We need to be more ruthless. Na the 2-1s and 1-0s no dey make the small teams fear us. Wire one of them 7-0 and the other go dey shit for pant.
