Jodera: On the contrary, I don't think it will @ the bolded
I've always known Rice to be fit for that Xhaka role and against Man city he proved it very well with his transitioning from defence to attack. With the way he plays, he's a big upgrade on Xhaka. The Man city game is his best game in an arsenal shirt so far(even more than against Man u). Imagine covering for Jorginho and still doing the attacking work both at 100%. Then imagine using Partey instead of Jorginho. Omorrrr!!!!
While he's a very good DM (I love him in that position) but I think where he'll excel well is the Xhaka role. He's press resistant, he can drive the ball forward, he can give forward pass and he can dribble. Long and short pass, he get am and the best of all is that he can find space in and around the 18 yard box.
He could have gotten at least two goals against Man city if only G. Jesus decided to play a cut back instead of over dribbling Well...we shall see |

If Uzoho who was essentially a yoith goalkeeper when he was called to the National team. Then why not Okonkwo who has better pedigree by comparison.
It's a matter for discussion and appraisal not dismissal. If we should approach Arthur, do you think he would agree to play for us? |

Jodera: Well, consistent winning breeds confidence, it's normal
I don too miss our matches so I no know how to grade Havertz for that our Midfield so far(whether he's acclimatized to the role).
The Man city match I later watched, he didn't start but he did well with that assist when he came on.
I just feel Partey, Rice and Odegaard should be our Midfield trio. Except maybe Havertz don improve A midfield of Partey, Rice and Ode will tilt the balance a bit. Right now, in the absence of Partey, we defend with 5 and attack with 5. With Partey, that means we defend with 6 and attack with 4. Well...na Arteta get the headache. He is getting paid for decision like this. |

Odunayaw: Maybe I am the meek type.
1. Please can you point scenarios that proves beyond any doubt that our team is full of selfishness & self glorification.
Are we confusing poor decision making with self glorification?
2. His other point about nonchalance being rewarded. Pray tell, how is that so?
Even in this set of friendly two of the major culprits (including the Chukwueze) was benched after a dismal performance. How is that a reward?
I remember the match against Portugal, same Chukwueze was our attacking spark. Is the coach now a clairvoyant to see who will blow hot and cold in the next SE game? Will he not select based on club form?
In this friendlies we see positives like almost immediate response after going behind. No celebration. We see good movement of the ball, more chances created AND increase in strings of passes (something we have always wailed for). Again, no appreciation.
How hard is to discuss the faults without pissing on the whole team? The goals we conceded due to ur GK's errors are enough proofs of nonchalantness. I'm sure you also came across his Snapchat post earlier in which he was not even remorseful. There were instances where the players just looked uninterested and started playing as they like. That said, there is a thin line between self glorification and poor decision making. We wasted a lot of chances because of this. Players choosing to shoot instead of passing to those better positioned. Nacho, Chukwueze and Dongoyaro were all culprits. I didn't pull all these out of air. I watched both games and I am sure there are people who noticed same things too. |

Marjoribanks: I watched several African qualifying matches. My observation: Ivory coast has a solid team. Egypt (Solid team) outplayed Algeria and could have won despite playing almost an hour with 10 men.
These two teams in my opinion will be our biggest threat to winning the AFCON.
Super Eagles: I watched us dominate and outplayed two very decent team this past weekend. Limiting the two teams combine to just 3 shots on target from open play. We could have scored 6 against Saudi and 7 against Mozambique if we really wanted it. The way we responded after going behind should tell you that!
The Super Eagles is so formidable that even our bench could have totally obliterate Mozambique in the first half alone.
Our first 15 players will be a nightmare for any team on the African continent going by what I saw this past week. If we solve the goalkeeping issues, I will put my bet on the Super Eagles to win AFCON.
This is one of the few times I witness a Super Eagles 2nd eleven outplayed decent opponents in friendlies. November will be fun! The Super Eagles is just a few players away from a world class team. How did we concede 4 goals in both matches if our opponents were only limited to 3 shots on target combined? |

Actually, I'm was preparing for a promotional exam(that was early last month) so I decided to take a little time off then I'll be back but unfortunately I fell seriously ill soon after. It was severe that I had to be admitted for weeks in the hospital reason I had this prolonged absence. I thank God for life and recovery (just got discharged last week Wednesday).
I know say I missed a lot of things sha(first two UCL matches, Havertz first goal, NLD derby and Man city win). Though I was grateful to watch the full replay of our win against Man city and I enjoyed every bit of it.
Good to be back here once again and I'm really thankful to you all (I can't emphasize this enough)

Tobichimezie: Good news is that we will never struggle to create chances and score goals
Bad news is,
Our opponents at the AFCON have probably now studied us and know all they have to do is pack the bus, insha Allah their way to the last half of the game (after we've missed 1,000,000,000,000 easy chances) and then take a shot from the half-way line at Uzoho cause of course Uzoho will do another one of his wonderful acrobatics and spill a speculative shot into his own net.

Sadiq is a perfect example of 'the spirit is willing but the body can't' . I still think his long legs are always in disagreement with his skillset.
Man would set himself up and when it is time to execute the final action, the legs will get in the way.
The poor performance of Uzoho is overshadowing a lot of faults in this team.
1. Poor pressing
2. Defensive lapses
3. Wasted chances |
