Jodera: To be honest, I don't think he's poor the way we're making it sound. Granted, Zinchenko is more technical than him but Tierney isn't poor in ball holding. I'll just say he's a different variety to Zinchenko I agree. But by being poor all Tierney does is backpass or Sprint to the byeline and deliver his trademark cross At least, look front, look side too.... |

zuchyblink: My take on Nwakali Physicality x Work rate x Speed x His strengths are not enough to compensate his deficiencies. Andrea Pirlo kinda lacks the 3 things you mentioned yet he was one of the best DLPs in football. I stand to be corrected though. Make una allow Nwakali rest. The guy is at least putting more effort this season. Infact, you sef should rest. E don do |

Jodera: Lol, if White can hold Zaha, I believe it's a done deal for Arteta to start White to hold Son I also prefer Tomi. Apart from both being Asian, White might be too aggressive for Son which may earn him unnecessary yellow card(s) and fks. Tomi understand Saka better and helps more in build up. |

Jodera: Tierney or Zinchenko for NLD?
With both fit to play against Spurs, who do you guys prefer to start.
My Opinion: I'll prefer Tierney to start over Zinchenko. Tierney is a good defender and a better defender than Zinchenko. He's not also bad going forward have we've seen couple of times against big teams. Moreover, Spurs are always deadly on the counter and most of their games this season doesn't involve Midfield play, so Zinchenko wouldn't be so needed to give us that Midfield advantage. Son, Kane and kuluveski/Richarlison are known for pace, counter and getting in behind. Who better to stop any of those 3 than for Tierney on the left flank?
So what's your take guys, who would you prefer? Blueraydick, Iamoyindamola, Roland17, Spy360, Mostob, ObaIgwe1, DaveP, Akinbahm, Jencejyde. I'd go with Zinchenko even though Tierney seems better defensively. Spurs is a counter attack team and I think they look susceptible when chasing the ball so we need to hold the ball. Zinchenko will also be a plus during our build up. |

Jodera: Hmmm... Well, I'll start watching more closely then
While he's not a bad defender, I feel more secure and comfortable with Tierney than Zinchenko whenever opposition attacks us.
Tierney performance during Aston Villa and Brentford was outstanding. And his usual cross spamming have reduced this season Same here too. I'm more comfortable with Tierney than Zinchenko. Tierney is faster and better defensively but his ball holding is poor. |

BlueRayDick: Smith-Rowe will be out for a long while Had high hope for this guy. I was even tipping him to make the England squad for world cup. 10 goals from Midfield/wing in EPL is not a mere child's play. Unfortunately, injury is limiting him. |

Spy360: Conte is a very experienced and smart coach. He will come up with many schemes to outwit Arteta.
Arteta must be at his best in terms of game management. Spurs are very good on the counter attack. The best in PL for me especially with Son and Kane. Playing a high line will be stupid. We have to spread the game and keep a low block. Spurs are bad facing a low block
I can't say more. Gbam! Mark out Kane and Son and the best way to do that is to deny them spaces. With Partey and Xhaka in Midfield, we should be fine there. Then Jesus and Martinelli should be able to do the job up top. The headache is White or Tomiyasu Vieira or Odegaard |

As for the onyeka argument, what if he had moved into the 'centre position' (according to our super analyst) in an attempt to block the shot and ended up deflecting the ball into our net or block the goalkeeper's view rather and Uzoho went the wrong way.

To be very honest, this thread has really changed. Probably the reason some monikers are no more regular here again.
There was a time some top figures in Nigeria football do grace the thread occasionally. I, personally have learnt a lot from civil football discussions and arguments on this thread.
By this time, we should be nominating committee members for our end of the year Nairaland football award yet we're engaging in an unnecessary argument with an adulterated kid who has refused to grow up. I mean, we all agreed to 'jump and pass'.
Let's go back to football abeg. |
