Since the start of Last season, the duo of Partey and Xhaka have Won all the whole games they started together except two... Against Man city 2nd leg (2-1 loss) and against Liverpool 2nd leg(2-0 loss).
Dominance!! Wow....if only Partey can stay fit. |

While I understand that, I'm curious to know how it works successfully for Fa to want to call them Your first paragraph answers your question. When the England callup is not forthcoming, they will grant an interview and talk about how they've been longing to play for Nigeria. When it's time for international games, they would rather play for U21 than Nigeria national team. |

GoddyOra: Luckily for most Brazilians, you ain't Tite. Imagine dropping Rodrygo (a far superior talent) for Martinelli, who is having his first decent run of form since he became a professional player
The only way Martinelli makes the plane to Qatar ahead of Rodrygo or even Firmino is if either of them gets killed before then cos an injured Rodrygo with one leg is far better (and more useful) than an in-form Martinelli I'm not saying Martinelli will go to world cup...infact I'll be surprised but the bolded shows you're not following the guy at all. He had 14 goal contributions in 26 appearances in his first season(2019/2020) at Arsenal... Had 13 G/A in 36 appearances last season. This season is never his breakout season. |

Jodera: I think he's(Nketiah) already switched sha. I don't even know if he was called up for this their upcoming friendly sef.
But yeah, I'm happy most of our players aren't in strong countries or see starting shirts.
I think amongst the top 6, we're the least in terms of core representatives Nketiah was not called up. The only two new additions are Tariq Lamptey and inaki William. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by mostob(m): 5:21pm On Sep 17, 2022 |
Jodera: Nketiah is looking to represent Ghana so he might not come back fresh too
Don't bank on Ghana not going far cos with the crop of players that wants to nationalise with them, they might qualify. Hopefully, Partey doesn't get injured.
I don't think Martinelli might be called up with the kind of form Brazil have in that wing. Rodryo wey don dey garner much madd form is even making things difficult for Martinelli.
All in all people who might see most minutes are Partey, Xhaka, Tomi and Jesus
Moderate/least minutes : Saka, Gabriel, Saliba
I feel we might not be too affected sha if no injuries affects any of our key players during the mundial, especially if most of the countries didn't go far. Once they're eliminated, that's another rest for our players to recharge themselves.
So aside injuries, it wouldn't be as bad as we dey reason am World cup is 2 months away yet Nketiah has not switched? He may later switched though. As for Ghana not going too far, it is my own prediction and it's still a probability but there is no way they're qualifying from that group. Trust me The bolded is one of the major reason for my post. We shouldn't be too affected. I'll probably do same thing for other teams in top 6 too. |

GoddyOra: Richarlison is ahead of Jesus in the ST for over a year now. Jesus and Firmino should make it as the second and third ST options respectively. I retract my earlier statement on Jesus.
For Martinelli, he is very likely to miss the WC. Definitely out IMO unless injury to other options. Magalhes ain't shoe-in for the WC squad since all three of Maquinhos,Silva, and Militao are 100% sure. He will battle out with Felipe of Tico, Bremer of Juve, and Ibanez of Roma for the last 1 or 2 CB spots depending on Tite squad choice. I agree about the other two but I still insist Jesus will likely start ahead of Richarlison for Brazil. Jesus majorly playing as a winger in City is probably the reason Richarlison has been ahead. Both can play on the wing but Jesus is a proper 9 |

Well, I expect this upcoming WC not to 'hurt' us real much as there are some players that will make it back early (if you don't Gerrit forgerrit ) Group A: Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, NetherlandsWe don't have any key player representing any of these countries currently in our squad. Group B: England, Iran, USA, WalesI expect England to make it out of this group but with Southgate, not so far. Who ever came second will be home early so I expect Turner (not that he is important sha) to be back asap. Pickford may currently get the nod so Ramsdale should be back afresh. With the plethora of attackers England boast of, Saka will likely see moderate minutes. If at all England makes it far and Saka is back half fresh, Marquinho should be able to take over then. ESR , Nketiah Holding and White are debatables. Group C: Argentina, Mexico,Saudi Arabia, PolandWe don't have any key player representing any of these countries currently in our squad. Group D: France, Australia, Denmark, TunisiaMy major fear here is Saliba. France has the talent to make it far but the winner's curse may well work in our favour here so Saliba should be back early. Group E: Spain, Costa Rica, Germany, JapanTomiyasu is a key player for Japan but could be back early. Germany and Spain will likely make it out of the group so we should have nothing to worry about. Group F: Belgium, Morocco, Canada, CroatiaLokonga making the Belgium squad is highly likely now due to the exposure he is currently enjoying but may likely not be a regular starter at the tourney. Even at that, he is not a regular for Arsenal if all players are fit. We should have no problem with him. Group G: Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, CameroonThis group is a bit terrifying. Switzerland and Brazil will likely make it out with Brazil a strong contender which means we may be missing our key players in Xhaka, Jesus, Gabi, Martinelli. Marquinhos should be at home as there's no way he would make the squad ahead of Rodrygo, Raphinha and Antony. Martinelli may not make the squad too due to a lot of competition (Everton, Neymar, Richarlison,Vinicus) Jesus and Xhaka will no doubt see a lot of minutes and may not be back fresh. Finger crossed Group H: Portugal , Ghana , Uruguay, Korea RepublicVieira and Soarez, if part of Portugal's squad will likely not be starters for them. Partey is Ghana's star man but he should be back early. Uruguay and Portugal will likely make it out of the group. And if Ghana do prove me wrong, the should be back home early too IYKYK All in all, Gabriel Jesus will be the only one we can be sweating on. Xhaka, going by his injury records shouldn't be a problem. |
