Hello everyone,

Thanks for taking out time to help others by sharing your knowledge and experiences.

Please is there any group or threads for the province of British Columbia or Vancouver in particular?

I will be moving to Vancouver sometime in April and will like to learn about the housing situation, living cost, transportation etc from those who have lived there or are currently living there.

It’s been almost a month since Eligibility started (Jan 12) and I’m yet to get my PPR, can’t lie this process is tiring!!

Submitted my application since September 11th.

my resumption is for May 2023 but I submitted the application on time so I can book my flight at a cheaper rate and have enough time to prepare.

@motolanibolaji, please reach out to this woman. She did mine last year and charged 10k, she could sound be a bit harsh (as per Nigerian officer) o, but didn't let that deter you. I didn't step their office, she sent me the document which I filled printed, filled with all required information and fingerprints then I later sent to her for final stamping and signature. Just negotiate well

Hello everyone,
Good evening and well done for the good work being done here.

Please does anyone have a legit link for police character clearance certificate? The connect I have gotten is billing me 50k so I want to be sure that is the right amount before committing to paying.

Congratulations to those that have received their PPR, I pray every other person patiently waiting will get their soon too.

Hi Thej,

Thank you so much for your response and congratulations.

Please if you don’t mind, can you share with me the template you used for the Sponsorship letter, affidavit of sponsorship, reference letter and sketch of family tree.

I’ll greatly appreciate it if you can do this, I can send you my mail if you’re not interested in sharing it on this platform.

Thank you and congratulations once again.

IamTheJ:
Hey MotolaniBolaji,

My application just got approved and I've shared my timeline. Exactly like your case, I'm also sponsored by maternal uncle in the US.

I didn't include 2 & 8, 4, 5 & 6. Though at a point I got worried i should have included 6.

I think 2 & 8 are okay as a proof of relationship. So go ahead and include them. I didn't have them that's why I didn't include them. But I sketched a maternal family tree (with passport sized photos) to show our relationship. In fact family tree was all included as proof of relationship. I don't have any pictures with him because we rarely see each other life.

Regarding no. 8, I included both. Affidavit of sponsorship must be NOTARIZED there in the US. He didn't notarize the Letter of Sponsorship/Reference Letter; he only signed it.

I included his 6 months Statement of account counting backwards from the month preceding my application month.

Then ensure that his account is fat enough to take care of your stay in Canada and his family, if he has wife and children.

In his Affidavit of sponsorship and Reference Letter, your uncle must indicate all his dependents (specifically wife and children). What helped my case also was that my uncle indicated his dependents, but made it clear that the wife was also a practicing physician there in the US and the children are attending school with no fees. So that means he's practically spending almost nothing on their education, which gave me an advantage.

However, I'll advise you to pray and follow your instinct. Include everything your mind tells you can boost your chances. Please let everything you include be genuine and verifiable because IRCC can go any length to verify your documents.

It'll end in praise!

Good Morning everyone, so far from my research I’ve seen that my sponsor (my maternal Uncle) needs to proof this documentations

1.His Employment letter/business registration certificate
2. Birth certificate for proof of relationship.
3. Bank statements
4. Promotion letters
5. His payslips
6. Passport bio data Page.
7. Affidavit of sponsorship or sponsorship letter
8.my moms birth certificate to show they are indeed related.

Please am I leaving anything out??

Ps: we don’t have any picture together and he is covering but my living cost and Tuition fee.

Also if I’ve paid 50% of total tuition, do I still need to add the total cost of tuition to the proof of fund?

Good Afternoon Gurus in the house.

Please concerning the proof of funds, I spoke to my uncle (My Mums elder brother) in the US and he agreed to sponsor me, please I would like to know what information and documentations I would need from him for my visa application.

Please I would also like to know the best way to proof we are related because we don’t have the same surname

Ps: we don’t have any picture together because I was very small when he left.
Ps: I paid my tuition and every other thing myself

Please help a brother out

Hello there.
Thank you

What you would need for proof of relationship is:
His birth certificate and your mothers birth certificate ( to show they are siblings and born from the same parent).
If he has helped you paid anything from your past.
Other things to help with your application:
Him paying your school tuition.
Sponsorship letter or affidavit letter of support.
Him sending some money for your living expenses ( this has to be a gift deed letter to back it up). it can be optional ( all depends on you).
His letter of employment.
Hopeful for other people here to contribute Incase of any other thing. wink

Bobomaigida:

Thank you

Hi MotolaniB, you need to sort out the POF issue first before securing admission, admission can easily be gotten, so you have to either find a close relative who has the funds that can sponsor you or you sponsor yourself, IRCC allows loans to be taken for POF but you have to show documentation of the loan and how you intend to repay the loan, using POF agents is left to you but you have to consider their interest rates and your capacity to pay. I do not know your profile, I would have advised that you look for schools where you can apply to foreign orgs that offer educational loans for such schools. So slow down on the admission and start working on fixing the POF once you are certain that POF is sorted then you can apply to schools so you can meet tuition fees payment deadlines.

All the best.

Good morning everyone, Please concerning the proof of Funds, I know most people have said you should have the money in the account for at least 4months prior.

I want to confirm, is this four months before you even start the visa application or what? For example, for someone who started the application in February 2022, should the money have been in the account since October 2021?

Good evening Gurus In the house.
Please I read this somewhere, I don’t know how true this is

“The total funds you need is the total of your
tuition (usually for the first year alone even if
your program is more than one year), plus
your living expenses in the first year, and
other additional expenses (like flight fee).”

“After showing that you have enough funds,
and funds in excess to cover your fees
(tuition, living expenses, other expenses, etc)
in the first year, prepare and present other
additional assets and sources of income to
show where your fees in the second year (and
other subsequent years) will come from
without having to work in Canada.
While the visa office is typically concerned
about seeing the raw funds you have for the
first year of your program, they also want to
know that you or your sponsors have genuine
sources of income to show that you will not be
stranded in Canada in subsequent years.”
