onegentleguy: ...And yet another voice was heard from the very four corners of the earth !! But this time, it was a voice 'from the call of a General'. ...a very unique voice that sprouts forth with plenty of financial emancipation. A call for the son of men to immediately follow in the footsteps of a certain aiico general and 'insure' their funds !! For he shall in turn 'assure' the geometric progression of funds brought to him. ...and those who hastened to the call were seen 'marching towards the north pole and singing along in the coaxed voice of the General', because they all had the beauty of immense joy emanating from their soul. ...while those who decided to wait, had the unfortunate write-up of plenty of regret written boldly in their faces.
For the appointed time of the General to march forward is now nearer than ever !! De day wey diamond bank go release result ehh, hmm na so them go just dey quote me with my huge losses. Abeg oh I no be prophet, I no kukuma be insider. Am just a struggling young man trying to fight off village pple. |

Will Dangflour get to 12.4 to day? I pray but I doubt. Eterna oil, my hit and run stock. This stock gives me 10% on a regular basis. The shareholders are simply nit sure of the true value, thus they keep shifting the goal post. |

wanaj0: My guess will be that the auditors are yet to sign off on the accounts. I will assume that they are yet to submit to CBN They are finding it difficult to hide npls. They should be made to make proper provisions for npls like the other banks do, so that we can really know their worth. |

sellydion: FBN seems to have taken good actions, to deal with impairments on loan. However the result will justify
there have been many propaganda in pushing stock price. The stock will fall flat if impairment still towers. They project 120billion impairment for 2017. They have already taken about 100billion by q3. About 20billion to take in q4. But they made alot of money last year from tbills. |

TLAX: If true, more CEOs and company statements need to be investigated by SEC if they are truly equipped for this. In any case, if you are an investor in a bank, I still believe that the volume of NPLs, provisions and loan impairment charges taken by many banks in the last couple of years are not real...be you tier 1 or tier 2. With the magnitude of the the drop in oil prices between 2014 and 2016 and its after effect on other sectors, especially in oil based economies, i find it difficult to believe that less than 5 banks ever recorded, or currently have double digit NPL ratios. Meanwhile that was the sector most of them rushed into between 2012 and 2016.
For me, the state of risk management in all the banks, coupled with herd mentality just does not support single digit NPLs we are currently seeing. Small small, the true state of the institutions will emerge...Tier 1 and 2 alike. I don't think this applies to all banks. FBNH, diamond and some other banks have declared substantially to the point where some of us suspect over declaration. |
