Chi59:You sound sanctimonious and self-righteous - an inevitable hallmarks of our holy ghost 'container' sisters. The posters above you have been condemned -rightly or wrongly - as people who are lost, and therefore, in need of deliverance. But you forget that the aspect of clothing - that is, what is right or wrong - is relative and does not enjoy universal appeal. I am in agreement with people who expressed outrage at the treatment the lady received, but it is not our moral code that was used. It is theirs; the lady is guilty for flouting the dress code other school. |
I think it is socially correct but morally incorrect. The sight of condom in one's pocket or bag evokes feelings of irresponsibility and promiscuity. These feelings might be wrong, but it is what comes to the mind. And sometimes, we tend to construct perception and act on those feelings. It is more damning if the person is a woman. Condom is a common product that is basically found almost everywhere. So, why carry it as if it is scarce. More instructive, many people routinely abuse its storage recommendations. |
ehinmowo:This is more of a wishing thinking than an opinion. A religion that had endured over 1400 isn't going anywhere, brotherly. |
This is a classic scenario of the pot calling the kettle black, and as usual, credulous people will be hoodwink. In a somber climes, people like OBJ will be behind bars, meditating on his numerous perfidy and misdeeds against the state. But, alas, this is Nigeria where anything goes. Giving OBJ the title of the grandfather of corruption in Nigeria is deserving and apposite. But the hirelings at the National Assembly must willing to accept the titles of grandsons and daughters of corruption. OBJ began barefaced thievery when he converted state farm into his property. He was impervious at criticisms, and till today no explanation has been given on how Ota farm became his property. As at 1999, when the northern cabal offered him power on a platter of gold, he was a pauper. Any right-thinking person will be appalled at the massive transformation of OBJ' fortune between 1999 to 2007. OBJ's searing disdain and antipathy for the horde of con men at the National Assembly might be related to the latter decision to scuttle his malicious and inglorious third term agenda. |
Diddyydiva:She is defiant. Must you quote me to prove me wrong? Oya go to bed; it is late. |
Diddyydiva:Silence gives consent. Your life, your choice. Can you do me a little favour? Let me have the last word. |
Diddyydiva:Phew! Did she reply? I am winning this 'contest'. Well, it is time for the moment of truth: I know you are the lady my little young man advertised today on nairaland. Don't even try to deny it. |
Diddyydiva:Fair enough! I think this will be a teachable moment for someone. Peace! |
Diddyydiva:Hahahaha. I am not acting smart as you erroneously claimed. Interestingly, you used 'gallivanting in error' to underscore just one solecism. And, of course, it didn't make up for your dismal understanding of sarcasm. |
Diddyydiva:Oops! She couldn't read between the lines. Apologies. Even when I deliberately used the phrase 'new catch' to depict my put-down. Perhaps the word sarcasm is apparently novel to her. |
Little young man, the post is incomplete - that is if you excuse the grammatical and mechanical bloopers - without the mention of the lady's name. This new catch that is nestling in your lair. How can guys learn to be 'themselves', when you are not 'yourself'? |
Diddyydiva:Jealousy is a vice. You should be happy for the little young man who has announced his new catch to nairalanders. |
I think she is the one who has deeper problems to contend with. This unilateral declaration of surrender - or amity - is a reflection of a troubled mindset, one which perpetually dwells in the thought of having issues with people even when it is obvious they barely recognise her existence. It also reveals the conflicted nature of her life - that is, someone who must disrespect others to look fulfil, or feel good. It is like an addiction; an attack on a celebrity seems to increase her selfwoth. Something is seriously amiss with this lady. |
ehie:Ms Ehie, you missed the mark by your skillful mention of one sector of the economy as a testament of OBJ's leadership prowess and ingenuity. What happened to other sectors, especially power? Oh, you deliberately refused to mention education, health, agriculture, infrastructure etc. Because you were convinced he was a fatal failure. Should I remind you that a whooping $16 billion was spent by OBJ on power? How is power supply in your area? OBJ was a man who had date with history, but missed the opportunity to etch his name on the subconscious of Nigerians and has been restless ,picking fights, and blaming everyone other than his self. During campaign period, The APC, extremely bent on seizing power, disingenuously referred to him as the 'navigator'. That was the height of delusion. He stubbornly continue to stoke himself into people's mind, seeking relevance and approval. Please don't make OBJ your leadership model. |
I know it is will only take little time before the self-righteous and sanctimonious OBJ unleash verbal venom on Buhari's government. Well, I am going to accept the content of the message, while ruthlessly dismiss the propriety of the messenger. If OBJ had done little of what he advised Buhari, Nigeria will not be in this sorry state. |
It is long over due. Those roads are scars on the conscience of Nigeria. I don't think you can find a road in such horrible condition anywhere in Nigeria - to realise they are tagged federal roads make federal government unpardonably culpable. |
Oizarammy:I Burst into a fit of laughter while reading your post. In all honesty, I was moved by your lamentation on why some girls date super rich guys and others don't. I have some tips to help you out. This is my personal opinion, and not an empirical-based assertion. One, You have to be extremely pretty to attract these kind of guys. Two, your background matters a lot. But some pretty and clever ladies counteract the handicap of humble background, by hanging out in areas where these guys congregate. Third, we have what is called luck or providence. Some are not pretty, they don't hang out in highbrow locations or from wealthy background, yet are opportune to meet these guys and make a lasting impression on them. So which of these qualities do you have? Are you pretty? Are you from a well-to-do home? Are you a lucky person? |
