In light of the recent Egypt Air disaster which saw over 66 people lose thier lives, we take a look at why flying is still the safest way of travelling.
Here are seven reasons why you should not be afraid to take flight.

1) Crash rate and number of fatalities of taking a flight compared to motor vehicles is significantly lower. While plane crashes are often highlighted by the media, the occurrence is extremely rare. In fact, these statistics suggest that “you are more likely to die driving to the airport than flying across the country.”
2) Flying gets safer every year. To put this statistic into perspective, the Associated Press determined it is equivalent to two deaths per each 100 million passengers flying commercially.
3) While no one is helping you watch the road from behind your steering wheel, pilots have many eyes assisting them from take-off through landing with Air Traffic Control.
4) Rigorous training - Most airline companies also require pilots to attend at least 2 years of college. Unlike on the road, there is an intense screening process to determine those licensed to fly.
5) Without belittling your car’s latest technology, airline technology makes motor vehicles look like vessels from the stone age in comparison. Sure, your GPS might be able to detect traffic and highlight an alternate route, and maybe you like driving in cruise control, but technology on airplanes controls almost the entire flight.
6) Many drivers are reckless because operating a motor vehicle feels so mundane. Errors such as multi-tasking, failing to wear a seat belt or talking on the phone while driving, On the other hand, the airline industry has been made extremely cautious not to commit any errors, no matter how large or small. The pilot will not take flight unless he has been cleared and is positive the plane is safe to fly.
7) Psychologists can explain why people believe airline travel is more dangerous than other methods of travel: the effect of the availability heuristic. Put simply, the availability heuristic is when people “make a judgment based on what we can remember, rather than complete data.”

Vernee is a relatively new player in the Chinese smartphone space, but he company made a bit of a splash in March by introducing the Vernee Apollo . The $400 smartphone features 6GB of RAM, a 5.5 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel display, and 128GB of storage. It has a Helio X20 deca- core processor.‎

Airlander 10 is called a “hybrid” because it integrates three distinct forms of air transport, namely elements of fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, and lighter-than-air technology. The vehicle boasts a total volume of 1,340,000 cubic feet, which also happens to be the amount of helium it requires to take flight. The ship can stay aloft in the same spot for three weeks, and even withstand bullet holes. It’s silent, produces no pollution, and is considered an important prospect for future air travel.

A Lenovo Connect app will be available in China this month for select Lenovo smartphones and laptops (starting with its LeMeng X3 smartphone and MIIX 700 tablet) and later this year for more devices.

The service will work for these device owners when travelling to more than 50 countries. In EMEA, Lenovo Connect will be available this quarter on a variety of Lenovo ThinkPad devices. The service will initially work in 45 EMEA markets and will support domestic and international roaming use in more than 110 countries. 

“With the dawn of 5G and the Internet of Things, we expect to see the telecom market expand exponentially,” Lenovo vice president Wang Shuai said in a statement. “Lenovo Connect and our MVNO services will help move us into the new, globally connected world by creating a seamless smart connection across networks, services and devices.” 

As a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO ), Lenovo already has 11 million users. The company did not share pricing details for Lenovo Connect.

The UMI IRON Pro is said to offer three very unique forms of security.
