If you’re new to OS 10.2 you may be having trouble getting up and running with Instagram. There are a bunch of OS 10.1 users that are making the jump to an official 10.2 and have been experiencing issues trying to get Instagram working again. Not to worry – there are actually a few ways you can get a new version working on OS 10.2 with just a little effort.

The method outlined here is the one that is working for most users on OS 10.2. It takes a bit more effort than normal but it should get you going. Here’s the best route for installing Instagram as posted in the forums by Samxodemon:

Unzip the package (download link below) — you’ll get 2 files for Instagram including version 3.4.4 and version 4.1.2.
Install version 3.4.4 FIRST. Do not install them together.
After finishing installation of 3.4.4, run it without signing in. Then, close it.
Install version 4.1.2. You’ll see two icons for Instagram. Whichever you open, they’ll both get into the same latest version.
Keep all these two icons on your device (you can move one to a folder or out of the way if you want, just don’t remove it)

Sony on Friday announced that its new PlayStation App for Android will be launched in mid-November in certain markets, just in time for the PlayStation 4 arrival, its brand new gaming console.

The app will be available as a free download from the Google Play Store starting with November 13 (North America) , November 22 (Europe) and November 25/26 in Africa or just a few days ahead of the respective PlayStation 4 launch dates for these regions.

It’s going to offer users plenty of gaming-related features, social features (including chatting and watching friends play games) and even some PS4 controller / second screen action.

Furthermore, users will be able to browse the PlayStation official website for “news, blogs and game information,” but also purchase game content while away from home, which will be downloaded directly to PS 4, PS3 and PS Vita.

As for the controller part, the PlayStation App will let users wake from standby mode, switch to standby mode, use the Android device as a keyboard and interact with game content where supported (second screen support), as long as both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Here are other PSN-related features:

Users can access their own profile screen.
Users can access/compare their own and friends’ Trophy accomplishments.
Exchange messages between PS4 systems, PlayStation 3 (PS3) systems, PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) systems, and mobile devices installed with PlayStation App.

British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN) , in conjunction with British American Tobacco Iseyin Agronomy (BATIA) invites applications from qualified Nigerian undergraduates, for the 2013/2014 Scholarship Scheme.

The Scholarship Scheme is one of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives to promote skilled manpower development in Nigeria’s Agricultural sector. In 2005, the scope of the Scholarship Scheme was expanded to include eligible students from across the country. This expansion was based on stakeholder expectations raised at a stakeholder dialogue session.

Ten eligible students are awarded scholarships every year for the duration of their study, with five slots reserved for eligible children of BAT registered tobacco farmers. On Oct. 22, Apple will hold an event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco the company confirmed in an invitation sent to members of the media this morning.

The invitation reads “We still have a lot to cover,” implying that the company has even more to announce after its new iPhone 5s and 5c announcements in September. It is widely expected to use the event to detail its new iPads.

Apple has been silent on the next version(s) of its popular tablet, but the rumors have been very loud. According to many leaked photos, the fifth generation iPad will have a very similar design to the iPad Mini, but with a thinner build, relocated speakers and mic, and a thinner screen bezel.

Apple is also rumored to release the iPad Mini, which it unveiled at an event close to a year ago, with a higher resolution Retina Display, though there have been conflicting reports about that.

Apple’s announcement comes after a long line of new tablets that have been introduced for the coming holiday season. Last month Amazon released the newest versions of its Kindle Fire HDX, including an ultra high definition version.

Google also introduced its Nexus 7 tablet this summer, which has an 1920x1200-resolution display, and Microsoft’s new Surface 2 tablets will hit stores on the same day as Apple’s news conference.

At the same event, Apple will likely discuss the next version of its Mac operating system called OS X Mavericks, which includes a new version of Safari and improved notifications. Along with the software details, Apple is said to reveal new MacBook Pros and its latest Mac Pro desktop.

Microsoft may have only just announced Windows
Phone 8 Update 3, but the company plans to start
delivering it to developers later today. After over a year
in the making, Microsoft is finally launching its
Windows Phone Preview for developers. The program
will provide registered developers with early access to
Windows Phone 8 updates, bypassing the complex and
lengthy carrier testing process.

Microsoft is specifically
targeting developers with this program, but for $19 a
year any Windows Phone 8 user can sign up and get
early access to updates.

Phone App Studio developers will be able to get early
access.
Windows Phone 8 users that are registered developers
or have a developer-unlocked device will be able to
download a Windows Phone Preview for Developers
app that enables the early access to updates.

There are
no restrictions on phone type, only that existing
Windows Phone 8 handsets have General Distribution
Release 2 (GDR2) installed in order to upgrade to
Windows Phone 8 Update 3. After the special app is
installed, phones will then update through the normal
software update process. While this is the quickest way
to access updates, and is similar to how Apple provides
early access to iOS developers, Microsoft warns it may
void any warranty with a mobile operator or device
manufacturer.

If a Windows Phone user opts to install the pre-release
updates then they’ll have to wait until the update is
released publicly to be in a “released state” as there’s
no way to restore back to an older version of Windows
Phone 8. The pre-release updates only contain
Microsoft’s portion of the update, and the software
maker isn’t rolling out any firmware or driver changes
alongside its own OS update. Today’s update will bring
1080p display support for unreleased devices, rotation
lock, a new Driving Mode, and much more.
