...I am at the last page of the application form where I am told to pay 75$ application fee...but I am surprised about there application method...they didn't ask me to summit my transcript or certificate... Please is this method of application okay...I am new to all this?

It's not unusual to encounter this.
You should read more about the requirement on the school web page. It may be that the sch requires an official copy sent by mail directly from your undergraduate institution. This would be the only reason why it's not requested online.

I wanna apply straight to PhD with full funding.

Excellent profile. Just do well on your tests and you should be fine.
Also try to make sure your SOP and LOR are as strong as other aspects of your application.

Very very sad. The problem with Nigeria is not just government or politicians, parents induldge their kids in so many things so they can give then the "imaginary good life" paying for special centers for JAMB, bribing their way through many things.

If it US then it very dependent on states, your experince and when you can pass written and practical test . Different states can have different rules

For me i stayed in washington DC and even could not drive . When i got there i heard Nigerians could just swap their Nigerian licence for a US licence in DC no test no nothing. So i got my parents to get me a Naija licence even though i was not in the country or could not drive. Then i swapped it and got a US licence just like that (maybe written test , cant remember)..... thankfully a friend taught me how to drive in 1 week (I had internship in the middle of nowhere where there was no buses so I had to learn quickly .......... I drove carefully until my hand was strong and didnt kill anyone

Not the best story in the world but that was my experience. Not all states do swap so you have to check each state requirements

Between Connecticut and Massachusetts. My naija license expired last year and I've since not renewed. If I decide to go renew now, it will take months to get it.I've got about 12 years of experience. I hear I may have to take a written and on-the-road test. What I'll like to know is how long the entire process may take.

I'm a student from the US on research internship here in Lagos, Nigeria under a tourist visa (was I was specifically instructed to apply for) with intentions to be here for a total of 8 weeks. When applying for the visa my official letter of invitation and flight itinerary specifically state that i will be in the country for 8 weeks (2 months), yet when i arrived through customs at the airport in Lagos the office gave me a stamp that only permitted me to stay for 1 month. I tried to bring this issue to his attention and he told me that i would have to return to the to receive another stamp at an undisclosed price. Naturally i thought that it was a scam that I have been warned about prior to traveling. I brought this issue to a Nigerian man whose literal job is to take care of me and the students i traveled with and any legal issues that may arise for us. He said that he knew a guy who would be able to get a stamp for us for 35,000N (100 US dollars). This is the same amount that a fellow student is paying to extend his stay/visa here and I have no need to extend anything at all. I also have informed my professors and coworkers (at the university I am working at) about the situation and they all attempted to strongly persuade me not to pay any money as there was something very fishy going on. They are in the works of contacting persons they know at the immigration services in order to find the solution to my problem, it has been awhile and I haven't gotten a definite response. I am in assuming that receiving another 1 month stamp should be costing me money and if so how much should the action actually cost? Why didn't they allow me to be authorized to stay the entire 2 months like I asked?

I'm sorry for the denial. Post your transcript so others can critique it. 4 times is a lot but in the end it shall be worth it.

As most know, I applied to 8 schools. Michigan State and Uni of Houston were my preferred destinations in that order and for obvious reasons: Michigan state was the highest rated of the schools I applied to whilst Uni of Houston posed (In my opinion) the best connections to the oil and gas industry based on its location and proximity to the oil Hub.

5 schools rejected me in this order: LSU, UNM, KSU (which reminds me, has Hirschfelder gotten his visa ?) UUtah, and then UH. UH came in April or May but I would hazard a guess and say mid April. It shook me to my bones especially because some Iranian with this profile (GRE 307 AWA 3.5, TOEFL 94, GPA 3.27/4, no publications) posted on grad cafe that he was accepted and fully funded for the same PhD program I opted for.

I tried to do a bit of research as to why most of my apps had fallen through but a few of the feedbacks I got centered on not finding an advisor or the acceptance process being more holistic than stats. (Absolute hogwash if you ask me) and I would say why.

So a friend of mine in Houston (MSc Chemical Engineering) told me his supervisor is Iranian and those who can count their teeth with their tongues know what I am trying to imply. I am not alone; someone ranted about UCBerkeley and pretty much said nothing thorough was done in selecting the PhDs for a particular program he applied for. So people are advised not to get disillusioned when some schools inexplicably reject their apps.

Anyways, moving on to something more positive. Michigan State accepted me on the 22nd of May but as I type this, they have proferred no word on funding. I had hoped to post here as soon as it was made available but I missed this thread and felt the need to keep you guys in the loop.

My final 2 schools- Mississippi State and USF have said nothing either. No reports on grad cafe as well and historically they respond in July i.e for my program (I figured it out when push came to shove).

Moving forward, I might (and it is a big might) consider a detour to the U.K. and then re-fire to the US with bigger schools in mind just to see if heaven will fall. Since I feel it is not financially expedient to use one's personal resources to go to the U.K., this my plan is hinged on securing a federal govt scholarship I applied and wrote for (PTDF). I am very optimistic about my chances because I am a man of the spirit + I wrote well.

Conversely, I could secure the same scholarship and stall till Spring- armed with the scholarship letter, I would apply to a top 15 program in the US for MSc seeing that I could secure it readily because of the letter. The trend in MSc acceptances gives credence to this plan but I am having fits about it because it negates my #TeamFall2017 Mantra.

God will direct my steps.

It is disheartening to know you've not got a fully funded offer yet. I was a follower of yours on my old account. In my estimation, you deserve to have gotten something good out of all your applications. But rest assured that the best is yet to come. I've missed your inspiring posts.

It's not refundable. You need to show evidence of sevis fee payment during your interview so you've got to make payment before your interview.

Go to your appointment booking page. You should see a link to update your profile on the top left hand corner. Update your DS160 confirmation number and reprint your appointment confirmation page.

Happened to a lot of guys. Just update your profile on the appointment booking page with the new DS160 confirmation number and reprint your appointment confirmation slip. That's all

If it's something that cannot be overlooked, then fill another DS160 and update your profile so the confirmation number matches.

You've said it all. Try more of the internship and less of the curriculum talk.
Most if not all schools in the US have excellent "curriculum structure", so that doesn't really cut it. My opinion though.

You've got a good GPA.
Start by taking the GRE and TOEFL. Ace it and you'd have limitless opportunities.

You could say something unique about the school. It may be something about the program structure you like, a particular research by a faculty member that you find interesting, anything particular to the school that justifies your choice.
