Since the recent report of stealing of women’s panties for ritual purposes in Lagos and other parts of the country, there has been serious apprehension on how women can keep their bras and pants away from prying eyes.

P.M.EXPRESS investigation revealed that some women were very afraid and appeared in dilemma on how to wash their panties and spread them without losing them to thieves who will sell them to dealers for ritual purposes.

Those mostly affected were women living in low apartment houses known as “face me I face you” in the state.
Some areas where such fears were prevalent included Igando, Ikotun, Agege, Mushin, Ejigbo, Oshodi and Ipaja areas of the state. Other areas include Ejigbo, Satellite town, Ojo, Iba, Lagos Island, among others.

Some of the women who spoke to our correspondent said that the situation was embarrassing and fearful because of the general notion that once the panties were stolen, the thief will sell to the dealers who will take them to native doctors for ritual purposes.

The women who spoke to our correspondence expressed their apprehension and said they have adopted some measures to cope with the situation in their various homes.

A single lady, one Miss Nonye, said that since the incidents of theft of panties began to spread, she no longer washes her pants and spread outside as she used to do in the past. She said that she had to increase the number of pants in order to have enough to use until the weekend when she will wash them at the same time and watch them dry before taking them inside.
Nonye said initially when she read about the theft of panties, she did not believe it until she started reading some confessions from those who were caught stealing pants and she had to take those measures to prevent experiencing such.

A woman, Mrs. Oladunni, said that before she used to wash and spread her under wears outside but has since stopped it. She said that she now wash and spread in her room. “You can’t see my under wears outside as it is now my room affairs ”
Another woman simply known as Laide, said if she had to wash her under wears , that she will stay outside to watch over them until they get dry before she can leave the place. She said she would have preferred to wash and spread inside but because of space, she adopted the new measures to prevent theft.

Some other women who spoke to our correspondent adopted similar measures and lamented that such theft have placed women under pressure as they now battle to protect their under wears instead of facing other challenges in their various homes.

The man himself “Izuchukwu” is mentally unbalance. He is suffering from demented brain. He is not normal and at the same time he is a drunkard, and he will be at least 56 years old. Now his family wants to marry a wife for him and they got this small girl for him.

The family of this small girl did not waste time to hand over their daughter to Izu’s family just because the Igwilo family are very rich.

This girl is under age for Heaven sake. This is completely evil. Yes a big evil because Izu will not be the one to be servicing this girl because he can not do anything.

A male nurse has been arrested in Arizona for the sexual assault of a woman who gave birth while in a long-term vegetative state, police in the US state said Wednesday.

The 29-year-old victim gave birth late last month to a baby boy, whose DNA was matched to that of the suspect, leading to the arrest, according to police.

The suspect — identified as Nathan Sutherland, age 36 — faces charges of one count of sexual assault and one count of vulnerable adult abuse, Phoenix police Sergeant Tommy Thomson told a news conference.
“The baby I am told is doing good,” Thompson said. The CEO of the nursing facility resigned following the scandal, according to a statement sent to media.

A lawyer for the woman’s family has said the infant “has been born into a loving family and will be well cared for,” according to The New York Times.

French sex workers have lodged a constitutional challenge to a 2016 law making it illegal to pay for sex, reopening a debate on whether women should be free to sell their bodies.

On Tuesday, around 30 sex workers backed by nine associations, including a medical NGO, went to the Constitutional Council to argue the law infringed their sexual and commercial freedom and made them more vulnerable to attack.

The law, which punishes people caught paying for sex with fines of up to 1,500 euros ($1,800) for first-time offenders and 3,750 euros for repeat offenders, took years to make its way through parliament after fierce debate.

Inspired by Sweden, it makes it a crime to buy sex but not to sell it, shifting the criminal responsibility to clients.

Hailed by many feminist groups at the time as an advance for women’s rights, the law was assailed by sex workers as an infringement of “constitutional rights to personal autonomy and sexual freedom, respect of privacy, freedom of contract and freedom to do business.”

The sex workers also argued that by criminalising their clients the law has eroded their earnings, forcing them to take ever greater risks to earn a living.

These include agreeing to engage in unprotected sex or to have sex in isolated environments where they are more vulnerable to attack.

In August a Peruvian transgender sex worker, Vanesa Campos, was killed in the forested Bois de Boulogne park west of Paris. She was shot dead while trying to stop a group of men robbing a client.

“It’s the client who dictates his conditions and we have no choice because we have fewer clients than before but still as many bills at the end of the month,” one sex worker, who gave her name as Anais, told AFP after Tuesday’s hearing.

– ‘Schizophrenic situation’ –
Many rights groups argue women do not engage in prostitution freely but are forced to do so by hardship or other circumstances.

They accuse clients of exploiting their vulnerability.

Issuing a robust defence Wednesday of the law, France’s High Council for Equality Between Men and Women argued prostitution was “the opposite of sexual liberation” and “oppresses all women” by enshrining the notion of male domination.

The council pointed to a poll showing that 78 percent of French supported the ban as proof of widespread support.

“We don’t want a society where it is possible to buy someone else’s dignity,” a lawyer for the abolitionist camp, Cedric Uzan-Sarano, argued before the Constitutional Council.

But a lawyer for the sex workers’ camp, Patrice Spinosi, countered that by making it a crime to buy sex but not to sell it the state had created a “schizophrenic” situation and “infantilised prostitutes.”

“Who are you to forbid me from doing what I want with my body?” he asked.

The Constitutional Council will publish its decision on whether the law is compatible with France’s basic charter on February 1.

A woman identified as Veronica Kainu, reportedly wedded in a hospital few hours after she gave birth to a baby boy.

Veronica who tied the knot with her husband Francis Mungai at Thika Level 5 hospital in Kenya, gave birth to their son on Thursday, January 17, forcing the new mum to spend her nights in a hospital bed.

The woman who wedded in the hospital, reportedly delivered her baby through cesarean section and was not in shape to be discharged. The couple had planned to wed on Saturday, January 19, but it was knocked off by the early arrival of their son.

“We had no alternative but to do our wedding here. The doctors told me that my wife was not in a position to go home for the wedding and so I requested them to permit us go ahead with our plans from within the compound,” Francis said.

Excited Veronica who disclosed that she never saw this coming, said;

“I really never expected that this will happen. I am very happy that I delivered safely and we have now crowned the joy of welcoming our newborn son with exchanging our wedding vows. I only have God to thank for everything.”

A woman who had given up hope of ever having kids due to health problems has welcomed a set of triplets.Beata Bienias, 36, had struggled for a decade to get pregnant all to no avail. She then tried to conceive via IVF and it worked. But, unknown to her, she had already conceived twins naturally in the same week. She ended up giving birth to triplets.

Beata Bienias had begun to give up hope of ever becoming a mother due to issues with her health including polycystic ovaries, brought on by weighing over 17 stone. But she managed to lose weight and finally fell pregnant with one baby through IVF.

Miraculously she had also conceived twins just days before her embryo transfer. She was not aware of this and neither were the doctors. It wasn't until she went for a scan after her IVF was successful that it was discovered that they were expecting, not one, but three babies.

The pregnancy has been described by one fertility expert as "almost impossible",Beata and her husband Pawel, 40, are now parents to four-week-old Amelia and twins Matylda and Borys.The mum was told by stunned doctors her non-identical twins were conceived naturally just a few days before her IVF embryo transfer on May 2 last year. Mirror reports. .

The Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the immediate disbandment of the Federal SARS.

He announced this in Abuja on Monday at his inaugural conference with Commissioners of Police and other senior officers.

The SARS will now work under the direct supervision of the Commissioners of Police in all the states of the federation, the latest directive says.

The IGP Special Investigation Panel and IGP Special Tactical Squad were both established by the immediate ex-IGP Ibrahim Idris.

Idris had centralised the operations of SARS into Federal SARS.
