One Sunday Palms, who killed a commercial motorcyclist and stole his motorcycle in Ikire, Osun State, has been sentenced to death by hanging. The Osun State Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo, found the accused guilty of murder and sentenced him to death by hanging. Palms was said to have committed the offence on August 20, 2006, when he lured one Isiaka Rafiu, a commercial motorcyclist, to the bush in Ikire, the headquarters of Irewole Local Government Area of the state, killed him and stole his motorcycle. The accused was first arraigned on December 8, 2014, on one count of murder. The offence, according to Solicitor General of Osun State, Mr Dapo Adeniji, who led the prosecution team from the state Ministry of Justice, is contrary to and punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 3, Laws of Osun State, 2002. Adeniji, who called three witnesses, also tendered statements that were later admitted as evidence by the court. Addressing the court during the course of the trial, Adeniji explained that on August 20, 2006, one Isiaka Rafiu, a commercial motorcyclist went missing. He said Rafiu’s remains were later found some days after on a footpath, adding that there were marks on the corpse that suggested that he must have struggled with someone before he was overpowered and killed. One of the confessional statements of the convict read in part, “I saw the boy riding okada. I stopped him and asked him to take me to the farm along the Gbogban Road, Ikire. On getting to the farm, I asked him to stop. “Before leaving my house, I took along a knife and kept it in a polythene bag. Later, I tripped him and I took the knife and cut his neck. After I saw that he was dead, I left him and went away with his motorcycle.” Justice Ojo, in her judgement, declared that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and passed the guilty verdict on the accused. She subsequently ordered that Palms be hanged. Gist from Gistmore - Cc lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Missyb3

The viral photos of a man performing sex acts with dozens of women has surfaced online, and has also sparked a controversy. The identity of the man was not given and it couldn’t be confirmed if the man who was performing sex acts on dozens of women had a porn intention. Recall that Nigerian porn star Kingtblakhoc started off like this. He started off with racy Instagram videos of him with nude and semi-nude women in his hotel room. After gaining a following online, he created his website hoclifestyle. On his website, he sells porn videos starring him as the only guy. Some of the videos have corny story lines such as the one with him and a female banker. Gist from Gistmore - http://gistmore.com/photos-of-man-performing-sex-acts-with-dozens-of-women-surfaces

Little or nothing was known about the singer, Ayoola Johnson, fondly referred to as Ay.com till 2009, when he released the hit song, ‘Pass Me Your Love,’ which featured Terry G. Fast forward to 2019 and not much has been heard about the singer. However, speaking to Saturday Beats, the musician noted that getting married early made him sacrifice most of his time for his family rather than his musical career. “I got married after my first album; I was a bit distracted. I was a young man when I got married; I got married at the age of 25. My wife and I attended the same secondary school, we were both young people who were in love and we had the opportunity to get married. I have produced more songs after that, but the industry is messed up now. I’m not desperate about music. I am doing music for the passion. “My son will be eight years old soon, my wife got pregnant almost immediately after we got married, she was a young girl and I had to be there for her. Some of the guys that make waves in the industry have given 100 per cent of their life to their career. “Most of them who are reigning in the industry today are baby fathers. A lot of them don’t even have time for their children. I was caring for my family, so I had little time for my music. It took me time to get myself together, and now that I am ready for music, the competition is very high. I just try to do music because I am passionate about it. It’s worth it at the end of it all, I have no regrets,” he told Saturday Beats. Asked about some of the differences he has noticed from the period when he started music and now, he stated that a lot had changed in the industry. “The difference is clear, it’s not about talent anymore in the music industry; it is all about money. If you have money, you can buy music and airtime. In the past, music gets aired based on the quality, but now no matter how good the song is, it is going nowhere. “However, we are grateful that the Nigerian music industry has grown and it’s being accepted globally, it is a positive change. A lot of people are doing well; lots of investors now invest in music,” he said. Recently, the ‘Pass Me Your Love’ singer has been using his social media platform to air his views on marriage, music and depression. He used the moment to speak about the motive behind that, while stressing that he was trying to enlighten people. “I watch a lot of artistes say negative things about marriage; they fail to understand that if their marriage is not working, they should check themselves. They shouldn’t generalise because by doing that, they may mislead their fans. I’m trying to be realistic and help the people to see the light. “A lot of people go into marriage for the wrong reasons, not for love. Some of their marriages don’t last; I have been married for nine years but I don’t put my wife on social media. During the time I got married, social media was not really active then, so my marriage wasn’t based on social media. The woman I married is not the social type. I try to take my marriage away from my career. “We are in the industry where people relate with you the way you portray yourself. A lot of people live fake lives. I have seen people in the industry being neglected because they don’t have enough money. There was a time a colleague of mine said people should do away with their friends who don’t meet up to their standard,” he said. Speaking about the death of DJ XGee, AY.Com noted that his death could have been avoided if he had someone to talk to when he was depressed. “The reason why a lot of people are dying due to depression is because they have no one to talk to; most of them are afraid of people gossiping about them. A colleague of mine relocated to America because a conversation about him and his wife leaked on a blog. “After this, everybody castigated him for not being able to handle his home. It was one of his friends who his wife was chatting with that leaked the chat on the blog. “The late DJ was not really my close friend, but each time we saw each other, there was always a big smile on his face. I wish he had the opportunity to talk to me, I would have motivated him. I guess he was afraid to speak up because of fear of being neglected. There is no love in the industry,” he said. Singer, Orezi, was criticised by online commentators this week shortly after he released a picture to promote his new music, Born Broke Die Rich. In the picture, the singer appeared to have set ablaze N1,000 note. Many Nigerians felt it was disrespectful to Nigeria and the country’s legal tender. However, in an exclusive interview with Saturday Beats, the singer noted that it was an edited picture. He said, “I never burnt the N1,000 note like people thought, it was just graphics; an edited picture. I did not burn the Nigerian currency. If you look at the picture, you would see that the fire almost got to my eyes. If it were real, I would not have been able to withstand the heat. I cannot allow fire to burn my eyes because I want to take a picture. I replied some comments when people were criticising me because of the picture. “I told them that it was an artistic paper and I did not burn the Nigerian currency. Why would I burn money to promote my music? A lot of my fans also tried to explain to those that were abusing me that it was an edited picture, but they would not listen. Some people went as far as saying that they would arrest me because it is against the law, but I did not burn the money. It is not everything that you can explain to people; sometimes you just have to keep quiet.” Speaking about ‘Born Broke Die Rich’, the singer said it was inspired by his life story. “It is just a song for people like me who were not born with a silver spoon in their mouth, but we aspire to be great so that our children would not suffer the way we did. “It is an inspirational song that advises people like me to work hard for their children’s sake. In the song, I said that my child must not suffer the way I did and that is why I work hard the way I do,” he said. In 2013, there was a rumour that the singer had signed on with Davido’s record label but since the news went viral, nothing has been heard about the deal. During his interview with Saturday Beats, the singer spoke about the purported deal. “I never signed on with Davido’s record label. We were supposed to work together and we had a deal but at the time, he travelled (out) and the deal was taking too long. Some things were not in place for the deal to happen so we decided to hold on. However, we are very good friends and we have done about two songs together. “This year, we would also do some projects together. Right now, I am an independent artiste signed on with my record label, Gehn Gehn Music,” he said. Gist from Gistmore - http://gistmore.com/singer-orezi-denies-burning-nigerian-currency
