I dont even get your points there. 3. How many nigerians have access to e-readers? Why do pastors keep churning out books everyday if there is no market. The idea of mobile phone is entirely different from those kindle devices. Talking about the future so you think even 5 percent of nigerians will embrace e-reader by 2020? Dont fall to all gimmicks they use to sell products by telling you ebooks sell more than paperback in America. Fat lie. Head over to amazon and compare sales of their paperbacks wil ebooks. Middle aged people will always cherish books anyday. Its not their generation. Akin to country music. Their market? Religious books, inspiration books, s.ex, relationships etc. And what the heck, why dont I get a book for cheaper price while am driving back for work and return it or even buy if I like than buy it, dont like and dump at home. Dont just open shop and go to sleep. Public libraries still do well in America and then attract girls too and boys will follow like bees. So far as there are schools, this will work I dont even get your points there. 3. How many nigerians have access to e-readers? Why do pastors keep churning out books everyday if there is no market. , Your work then is to find parents where they are to register. Open shop in a university area that has secondary and primary schools. Print trickery fliers meet the parents etc. 2 why were people making and are still making money from film renting in nigeria even when you can buy such films for was it 50 naira - even with them not being organised? I dont watch those films but I know that should be the open market. Do you think folks are happy with the dumping of used books and consumation of spaces in their homes? Why not just rent it and read and pass and move over. 3. Libraries in my UNI in naija were and are always jampacked. With no fan or ac. Poeple have library cards and people went as early as possible to get space and it has not changed. Alternative, ways jampacked. With no fan or ac. points raised Parents - I never meant parents are the ones to read the book. What I meant was to spur parents to rent these books for their kids. The way to do this is marketing and I wont disclose any. No kid wants to buy a book/rent but when you target your market on parents who still have their kids in school and want them to pass, sell the idea to them and they will run after you. Take for instance, get different english textbook from whats in the market and impress it on parents to get these textbooks(marketing), tell em its american standard (consider nigerians are gullible) and will make their kids pass waec, jssce etc many will buy, some who dont have the money will rent and shovel it on their kids.gerians are gullible) and will make their kids pass waec, jssce etc many will buy, some who dont have the money will rent and shovel it on their kids. |
You talked about Netflix that doubled their price few months ago. Guess if it was unsuccessful nobody would have cared but they got over 48000 comments on their page with people very angry. You said books are not futuristic but we still have best selling books world over. Go to amazon and check stats for their best selling paperback, compare it with digital. Not everybody is ready to read electronically and like I said the target is on parents not the kids. The parents will make the effort to get these books for their kids, many people are willing to read in universities - poor libraries are jam-packed during exams. I can keep saying but I dont want some people hijacking this idea although I don't intend using it. I know religious middle aged people read religious books and all and don't care about new tech. The poster above is just a job material so he is not built for thinking & who says the timing is short. Its just about getting original ideas within the shortest time frame, Just a different world with different people. Post this on yahoo answers or huffingtonpost and you will see innovative reactions. Yeah the schools he wrote say the smae thing - UCAS still. I thought you know some quality schools you can apply to directly over there. I just wanted to know if you have any, |
^^ see am. Exactly what I was saying. Ideas have started rolling in from smart heads and what dude has up there is worth good money. Donn't mind dull headed people who only feed from government money. And I was playin with the money oh, Maybe I forgot to add lol. But if you throw it my way - extra buck for party. I still have other ideas but I will not throw it here to be hijacked by vultures lol * for returning of the books and other items, let's take it that business have risks and thats the risk. However, you can properly document the people, ask for notable id and when you grow bigger you can formulate your law that failure to get the book back within the time fram will attract a court action -when you grow bigger oh |
Ok, cancel it officially. But if I were you, I'd keep to it and get peoples ideas, afterall if they dont meet your expectations, you can keep your money because at the end of the day only ideas that interest you will win eventually. As an entrepreneur, I no ideas are business not even capital. Many people on here are ignorant. There has to be ways of bringing back the reading culture & especially now there is massive failure in ssce, you can create pannick on parents by makin them make the children read from young age - the idea to do so is what you are looking for. The idea is to get them get these books and thats where your primary concern stops. Right now, whisper to a parent that this is what will make his/her child pass and he/SHE runs with you. Tell a parent that this costly book will make the child pass english period. They will rent it and God have mercy if the child manages to pass after reading it. Lol. Remember publicity will be essential. Nigerians baffle me, so when something is dead, we shld abandon/dump it? So people will keep failing waec/neco? Lmfao. Tell me one thing that is dead in America or developed nations apart from Myspace? Lol. Now if it were to be in nigeria, myspace would still be king, but now we have facebook and when facebook was acting like they were the sh+t, twitter sprung up - all the same objective but different models - because of ideas/innovations. Now you got this site and there is no competition, nobody is thinking, how can I beat this guy but if it were to be in america you'd be off since (just joking oh). Innovation is alien to Nigeria. The fact is people who are creative in Nigeria dont have financial access while dundees do. Me I believe now is the best time to cake off this industry due to failures in exam and b4 people realize their folly you are like mtn in the biz, so get the idea, make it big and invest in it. However, considering making it a library fully equipped with high tech with monthly fees by subscribers - targeted on parents directly will be better on the side of profitabilty so the income will be 2 way; afterall macklean or so died before and is leading today - marketing, etc Ooooops, I talk long oh, oya pass me the bucks |
Yo justwise I have wanted to reach you. My bro is trying to apply for admission with oxford or salford or westminster. The site barred my card sometime - I dont no why, is there anyway to bypass that bloody ucas? Please send me a mail on schools in uk that offer direct admission process without ucas to my box promiseed@yahoo.com pleasee. I'd appreciate. @OP how are you going with the payment plan? How do you wanna pay |
smh at how much of a d.umb people we have in Nigeria. Some dust headed people will just post rubbish to proof an unproovable point rather than still to commenting their irrelevant comments on post. This is how y'all paint the country to the world. What's the essence of this post. Y'all can have it. MOD if you delete my post, devil punish you in advance |
lmao, I didn't even bother to read this. Anybody who believes this topic is just wilding. Politicians at it again. December 2012? Say word. |
like is it a library, bookshop, book club(strictly for borrowing) or all. Which do you really want. I have some ideas still on this |
whats the product? Pay me i'll promote it for you. I got a marketing account with over 1700 followers |
Mr. President, we can't see the mega watts here oh |
^ sit down. You no get light for your house oh. PS: that hug transformer cliche is played out. Maybe you no play when you small or when people dey use am you bin still dey play for sand |
smh at a bunch of wretched rats that comment on this forum because of monthly egunje from the government. O yeah I represent the haters f:ooolish f.ool. And they say Nigeria will be better. When you say the truth they say you are a hater. A government that does fixes light and provide dividends of democracy on the pages of businessday. This country is really serious. Oyeah @beaf you have failed in your job on nairaland to proof to people that the dullest government in history is trying to fix power. I see your brain has been exchanged in okija so anything I say here that is not praise to the non perfoming president cannot be ascertained by you. So have a nice day, I will be posting some topics here now to keep you more busy. You need to work for your pay. BUSINESSDAY'S PUBLICATION IS SPONSORED SO IGNORE. I use gen here, everybody else uses gen so I guess the steady light is for the ghosts amongst us |
^ 24/7? Haba! I thought this was a forum for mature people. Its obvious this is beaf with multiple accounts. Anyway I shouldn't count the number of dams in nigeria for you. Am a busy man and I have work to do. Just report to office and have them contact the ministry of power to tell you how many dams in nigeria and also tell you dams are major sources of power in Nigeria. The point is this article is sponsored and nigerians dont have light. So am trying to bring the truth to this publicity stunt before nigerians who are easily decieved will go about celebrating light even when they dont see it. Smh. |
^ id.iot, so kanji and shiroro are the only dams in Nigeria. Mu-mu. I bet you don't like your life like this. If only you were smart, you could have gotten a decent job and not stanning any post with jonathan and you have not been able to convince the people here that work is going on in the power sector so your job is in the line, Lol |
Hater of good news, fire. When people never see light? @beaf, man just try and increase your mental capacity. You sound de.mented. Now its obvious you don't even know what is a dam. From your post, kanji, from 70mw to a whopping 268, shiroro and the rest. Its obvious you dont even know what is a dam in the first place. And then, only street newspaper - businessday is reporting this and you - the nairaland representative of neighbor to neighbor - has a tab on these sponsored stories. Lmao. Man you don't want it with me. I know you are doing you day job, but sometimes it better to STFU. |
^^ I dont even have your time. You are just a one direction follower. Funny how a laptop, internet connection and some handouts will buy an old man like you over to represent the president on a forum. You don't even want it with me. Its only when you are bought over that you will not know dams are major sources of power in this country. Even primary school pupils get that basic knowlegde and water bodies in the country has been overflowing this year; the lagos flooding, the story on frontpage about river niger submerging villages etc. Man I don't have your time, I gotta face my work. You have been roboted to be bias here so never have any other option. |
I see the neighbor to neighbor members who insist on fixing nigeria's problem through the pages of newspapers are having a party here. Rejoicing at speculated increase in power that usually occurs during seasonal water volume changes in dams. Like this is the fiirst time people have noticed this increase and by the way, no light for here oh. Smh at this piece of limted, sponsored and non-investigative journalism by a street newspaper.anyway, nigerians are easily decieveded |
I have seen many people write that google stuff off. Some say its scam. Google it tho. However I make may cash from surveys and its a lot more cheaper to register and pays more, so I earn more from surveys |
una don come again |
^^^ask me oh |
The recent violation saga from Abia State University, Uturu - Abia State Nigeria might turn into one of the many famous Nigerian cases to be thrown under the carpet as the Police have released the suspects arrested in connection to the incident. THERE was jubilation across the world following the news three of the five students whose video of their shocking violation of a hapless female student sparked outrage across the globe. The marathon violation was alleged to have involved students of the Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU), South East Nigeria, but reportedly off campus. But those who rejoiced over the news of the arrests may have done so too soon. Speaking with The Moment On Sunday evening of Saturday September, the Abia State Police Commissioner, Mr. Bala Hassan, confirmed that arrests were made but the suspects had been released after questioning. Hassan said that those arrested were released when they convinced the police that they were not the people mentioned online and knew nothing about the gang violation. He said the police was handicapped in investigating the incident because the victim was yet to report the incident to the police. 'If we had seen her, we would question her, play the video footage and see if she can identify the suspects,' the police commissioner said. 'For now, it is pretty difficult for us to fish out the culprits because it is only the girl that can be of immense help. More: http://chigotoday..com/2011/09/absu-violation-saga-police-free-suspects.html Seriously, how will people be fighting smoke? You are shouting over a violation saga when the girl has not owned up. You have not even seen the girl to know what really happened and then I heard this video circulated in the school and the girl obviously had knowledge of it and could have reported to the police but kept mute. She has friends too who could have given a clue on who she is. My problem is if the girl is not willing to own up, help the police and report the case and say who the suspects are, then people should just die the case. It might have been one of those masochisms that was captured and blown out of proportion but then I have not seen the video so no one should crucify me. lol |
No comment on the fight shaa but those people saying jonathan will win again if there is another election are either not in Nigeria or based in aso rock. My 2 cents |
smh, just shows how desperate and foo.lish people are to leave Nigeria. 7000 people all at once? Without the Canadian government having an official knowlegde of it? Gtfoh. |
Thats like a whopping 100 billion dollars plus the 40 million abi billion dollars obasanjo use for him own. And there wouldn't even be a 24hr light guarantee. Please I need help; is there any job vacancy in the ministry of power? Please someone help me out, |
@poster you have no case. |
If you believe any of this, you should know you have failed the IQ test. You are a du.mbii. I was finding it a good read until I started seeing some names - all presidential opponents. Names of governors were mentioned and the not smart writer still wrote 'and some other governors' why were all their names not mentioned. Lol. Gtfoh. Its obvious that mu.gu beaf and pdp crooks are at work again and if there is any bomb on 1st october we know who is responsible. , heavy sigh. This belongs to the thrash. Instead of people to find ways to stop boko haram, na politics them wan do |
rflmao. God pass them |
