Is that not "boy alinco" of the Papa Ajasco fame? |
IPOB reminds me of the prodigal son. |
That depends on if he is performing the miracle for the fun of it, every miracle was performed for a reason which ultimately is love. |
Tampinu:☺️ |
whitebeard:Maybe it is, but it's worth thinking abt. What really is our priority, in this case religion or tribe? |
Shelloween:Hmmm, so u r saying u won't apply religious or tribal sentiments? even though A attends a branch of your church and B is from your kindred? |
Shelloween:Nice one, there's no wriggling your way out of this, you met both of them at the same time? |
whitebeard:True, but let's say the only factors here are religion and tribe i.e both of them are complete strangers. |
Nbote:Like I said in the illustration, you can only help one person, so what's the criteria would it be between religion and tribe. |
Hypothetically, if you meet two people who need help, A practices your religion but is not from your tribe, B is from your tribe but doesn't practice your religion. Who would you be inclined to help of you can only help one person. Cc. Lalasticlala Mynd44 |
BiafranPrince:Actually you are the one who doesn't know what's happening. If you have the facts, kindly present them, if you don't, it's something you should think about. The issue I have with the Biafran mentality is the uncontrolled aggression that comes with it, this is what is common between a Biafran and an Islamic fundamentalist. |
BiafranPrince:So what States make up Biafra now? If consultations are still on, is it safe to say Biafra right now cannot hold water, when will consultations be concluded? |
PapaBrowne:It's funny cos this guy's are not clear on the boundaries of their supposed country and there's an agitation, an agitation for what exactly? For a land area that is not defined? |
PapaBrowne:Then why is it reported as 10 states in the statements released by IPOB? |
Who knows the states or LGAs that make up Biafra? Would also be nice to get a pictorial view. Thanks |
I was faced with the same problem 2 years ago, I chose to stay back in Nigeria, married last year and still working. Now the question is, do you intend to come back? If yes, then you should start up a business that would be able to sustain you and your wife when you come back and you should have at least done introduction before you leave, except ofcourse you don't love her enough to marry her. If you intend to remain in Canada, then be ready to start all over which is actually very cool as its Canada (I have friends there) but your fiance should be ready to wait sometime as you would have to settle down over there before you bring her. |
On the matter of cessation, In response to the recent position taken by the northern youth on the Igbos residing in northern Nigeria and for the information of the Igbos and Nigerians in general. The Igbo-Race Movement has been made aware of the unfortunate article and video making rounds on the media, credited to the northern youth, warning the Igbos residing in northern Nigeria of dire consequences should they remain in the north after a certain deadline to vacate and advising northerners to vacate the Igbo territory by same deadline. We are all aware that this call can only result in disruption of people’s activities and massive loss of innocent lives which we can assure you the Igbos have no more appetite for and which we thought the north would have had enough of. We do not pretend to be unaware of the reasons for your actions being mainly the incessant calls for Igbo cessation and creation of Biafra, the unending and degrading insults on different elders and officials of Nigeria, the inaction of Igbo elders, disruption of commercial activities and protests which by the way has already taken a lot of Igbo lives. We will like to make the below points. 1. The voices you hear do not speak for the majority of the Igbos and in fact represent only a small self-seeking group who have managed to manipulate people to their advantage. This was only made possible by the embarrassing silence of our elders who should know better. The majority of the Igbos do not currently have any interest in breaking away from the rest of Nigeria. Should we ever nurture such intentions, we are aware of the United Nations prescribed modus operandi for this and will apply such without engaging in any hostile activities. a. The Nigerian nation is very favourable to the Igbos, providing a huge market for commercial activities and enterprise for which we are well known for and providing a larger field of play for our brilliant minds yearning to excel in different fields of endeavour. b. The Igbos are very well blended and intermarried with other tribes of Nigeria. c. We are yet to understand how the Biafra will survive without the massive crude oil of the Niger Delta, without a Sea port and with a massive population of repatriated Igbos to join the already residing ones. The Niger delta has made it clear they are not part of Biafra and we don’t even love ourselves as much as we pretend to if the truth be told. d. The Igbos are the tribe most invested outside their territory within Nigeria. We do not have any intention of forfeiting real estate or businesses in the north or any part of Nigeria for that matter and wonder if the people who call for this cessation of the Igbos have anything to lose? e. Biafra will be landlocked within a hostile Nigeria and if we think it’s bad now, we wonder what it will be like then. Biafra will be on a tiny portion of land with about 30 million people and without a seaport or massive crude oil. Our thousands of monthly containers will be imported via a hostile Nigeria port and thousands of trucks will drive through Nigeria to bring them in monthly. who do we sell to? Ourselves only? 2. The main problems of the Igbo man has with Nigeria are corruption, bad leadership and the so called elites but these appear to have been misinterpreted and translated to mean oppression of the Igbos. We do not believe that the Igbos get the worst deal in Nigeria but a lot of us seem to look at every event from the point of a lost civil war and draw erroneous conclusions. The enemy of the Igbos therefore would be bad leadership at different levels(federal, state, local government and even as Igbos), the elites and corruption at all levels. At the top where Nigeria is plundered, there is no tribe no religion. 3. We believe in the Nigeria nation but it needs a lot of tweaking to reflect social justice and work for everyone. The first step in achieving this is purging the system of corrupt officials starting from self so that if a national conference or whatever is decided is held with the purpose of correcting the system, the entire nation can have good representation with popular not personal results achieved. To this effect all hands must be on deck on a national level and the entire country must start with house cleaning. As long as we defend our own thieves while calling for the prosecution of the other man’s thief, we shall continue to be divided and ruled to the disadvantage of all. Nigeria is a nation blessed abundantly with the capacity to make everyone reasonably comfortable but the real enemy would be the so called elites, corruption and bad leadership. The biggest hindrance to fighting this being tribalism and religion. 4. We find it unfortunate that the northern youth forum descended to the level of the people they criticise in insulting the Igbos by crediting us with prostitution, robbery and crime in general. We would have thought this was a shared occupation amongst humanity with these belonging to the oldest known professions. You have also used terms like ungrateful and acrimonious to describe us, should we be grateful to anyone if we are considered equal stakeholders of Nigeria? Your speech therefore seems laced with hatred and can only achieve hate results. The ultimatum given by the northern youth is a call for southern blood even if this is not the intention nor clearly stated. We have walked this road in the past and will not to walk it again. Our new war is making money and excelling in our endeavours not savagery. The average Igbo man wants a level playing field to operate, make money, pursue a fulfilling life, train our kids well and hope that the Almighty will allow us to abide with him when we move on. The main purpose of this being to avert imminent bloodbath in the north; we call on the northern youth forum to act with reason and revise their position while there is still time. The Igbo man is not your enemy. The longer it takes to reverse this position, the more difficult it will be for a stand-down to be effected. We also call on Igbos to start thinking with their heads and not just heed any calls for action without thinking things through. Truth be said, we have been unfair to our hosts in different states with our recent actions, shutting down businesses and disrupting the lives of people who have welcomed us. These people are not our enemies. If we can achieve unity and work with one another, most of our problems will be solved. But ask the Igbos to produce one person for leadership and fifty will come out and fight one another till they eventually decide to give it to a non-Igbo. For those of us outside the southeast that believe in showing support for cessation by closing down businesses and similar activities, why don’t you relocate your businesses and family to Igbo land completely and allow those of us that want to coexist with others peacefully to be. If we insist on cessation, this can be achieved within a legal frame work already prescribed, not through tormenting others and ourselves. But we urge everyone to be careful of what they wish for. Is there even a plan? Where will the capital be, Abakaliki, Awka, Enugu, Owerri or Umuahia? Who will be president first with all the comparison between the Mbaise man and snake and talks like that, what will be national source of income? Finally, no matter how much the northern youth call is criticised, we must look at the factors that gave rise to this call and seek to address it. We must also understand that criticising this call alone will not avert bloodshed when this deadline expires. This is going to serve as a wakeup call for us Igbos to be more responsible especially our leaders who sit quietly and watch things deteriorate. There is too much hatred being spread on the media with everyone choosing to amplify evil over good. I still believe the best way out of this is through legislation, an act should be enacted to provide a bulk amount for the families of slain officers. By the way what's the update on the officer that lost an eye during the encounter? |
Exactly what was on my mind, well said OP. The bureau DE change, bank(s) are culpable. The best way to prevent similar cases is to arrest all those involved, no sacred cows. |
Exactly what was on my mind, well said OP. |
Good stuff, but we need to enact a law that would take care of slain officers, that would make it sustainable and also cover slain officers not published. |
TheArchangel:My dear, the only people who felt and are still feeling the impact of the Civil War are the Biafrans. |
I have always been a fan of logic over sentiments, as logic gives a definite outcome to the unknown. Now the big question is, will there be a secession? My response: Highly improbable Why? 1. What are the states that make up Biafra? If you are adding the south south states, that won't work anymore as that is what the Igbos are fighting against in the first place, and it can be seen from recent trends that they are fighting against their inclusion in Biafra as they would be the new minority and the crude oil would be robbed from them, repeating history all over again. So the best bet is to have only the five eastern states make up Biafra. This leads to the next question; Will the 5 eastern states that would make up Biafra survive on their own? My response: Not likely Why: From the recent circulation of the 2016 Internally Generated Revenue we could see that the 5 eastern states are not self sustaining, in fact, they hugely rely on the oil derivation from the South South, except for Imo (which unfortunately does not produce crude oil in commercial quantity). Now these are hard facts and the supporting truth lies in the east, we don't have a lot of industries in the east (why, I will get to that very soon) what we have are majorly She's, now the reason we don't have alot of industries in the east is because of the hostility and insecurity. This is because unfortunately, the east does not encourage external investors (can you name a popular non eastern who has made his money from the east?) and the reason is simple, I have lived in the east so I know what I am saying, take a look at Aba, the commercial center of the east, Aba is way underutilized because Kidnappers, armed robbers chased industries away, Aba is now a huge warehouse. Only recently has the governor began to carry out developments in the state. The same tin applies to Owerri, except the security situation is owerri is not as bad but there are also no industries there, Owerri's major export is hospitality. Same thing applies to Onitsha, Onitsha was synonymous with robberies some years back but with good leadership, the place is getting better. Now I remember having an intellectual argument with a brilliant friend of mine and he claimed, the reason he wants secession is because of the fulani herds men killing the Igbos and I remember telling him, that's something good leadership can handle not secession, I haven't heard of fulani herdsmen killing anybody in ekiti state, there are laws that states could manage issues like this. My sincere advice to my Igbo brothers and sisters, is to develop the eastern states, (increase your IGRs, I remember when Lagos state had an issue with then President Olusegun Obasanjo, they massively improved their IGR and look at where they are today.) Don't be a pawn in the hands of the political class. Now ask yourselves this questions? 1. Did the late Ojukwu lose a Family member during the 1967 civil war? 2. Did Ojukwu have a Daughter with a Northern woman? https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/sunday/index.php/top-stories/11822-ojukwus-secret-daughter-traced-she-lives-in-kaduna Please let's channel our aggression towards the development of the east. I bet if it was a northerner that did this to an Igbo child, we won't hear the last of this. #wickednessknowsnotribe. |

Rent your own apartment, and let your mum stay with you if you don't want her to be lonely. Your sister can only do what she's doing in her father's house. |
While AY did a whack job, I would have expected kemen to seize the opportunity and apologize again and not make the scene one sided. Let's really face it, we are only insensitive to this issue because tboss isn't related to us, if she was we would have asked for kemen's head. |
You see that's the problem with Africans, we allow the gods to handle what we are supposed to handle by ourselves. What's the essence of BBNaija? Is it not an opportunity to showcase your talents? It's obvious we have models, actresses, Voice over Air Personalities, MCees, eba makers and of course, the blank ones. So if you look beyond the different colors on your TV screen, you would see talent. |
I have followed the BBNaija closely and more so, the votes and I wonder why Nigerian youths (at least quite a number of them) want efe to win the price. This makes me feel we are not ready to vote a credible leader come 2019 to lead this country. Now picture this; 1. Efe has no talent really, don't see him being a model, a rapper? Naaa, an actor, he doesn't fit the bill. But he has a lot of fan base, and I wonder, do these youths know the impact the winner 25million Naira could have on his community? I would rather we vote for someone with talent and that would in turn create job opportunities for or teaming youths. Someone who could be a role model and not some1 who 'raps in pidgin' when we all know we won't buy that album. Anyway, this is just my take #logicoversentiments. |
Isn't it funny that a Muslim marrys a fellow Muslim and the wife becomes hostile when he decides to marry a second wife. Isn't that part of the package or am I missing something? |
