Good day cronies,
My 2005 Infiniti FX 35 goes off by itself mostly when not in motion. My thought was that the fuel pump was the cause as advised by a mechanic.
The problem started when I gave it to a mechanic to help service the fuel meter that wasn't working. After fixing this, he didn't connect back the return fuel pump hose.
So yesterday, I took it to a mechanic workshop and the fuel pump was changed with 2 different ones and it was still the same. Also the sound of the engine is usually high that it appears on the acceleratory meter, and also fluctuate, which was never the case before the fuel meter repair. As at now, Service Engine Soon notice is also on. It started a night when I kept starting it as it kept going off immediately after starting.
Now in order to avoid another try and error from fixing this car, I want the NL gurus on automobile to help tell what the exact fault is and as well recommend known pro mechanics that can help put this car back in order once and for all within Ibadan and Lagos.
Thank you in advance

Politics › Boko-Haram Kills Two PDP Leaders In Borno by mrofficial2(op): 8:23am On Mar 15, 2013 |
Two prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Borno State, northeast Nigeria, have been shot dead by gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members.
The victims, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Gula, the PDP zonal Vice Chairman for Southern Borno, and Hajia Gambo, PDP woman leader, Shehuri Ward in Maiduguri, were shot dead in their homes last night.
They were said to have played prominent roles during President Goodluck Jonathan’s visit to the state last week and the attack may not be unconnected with his refusal to grant amnesty to the faceless terrorists wreaking havoc in Northern Nigeria.
The terrorists were said to be incensed when President Jonathan told northern leaders during his visit to Borno State that he won’t grant amnesty to ghosts.
The extremists have come out to say they are not ghosts.
When contacted to confirm the story this morning, Isa Gusau, the Special Adviser on Media to Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, told P.M.NEWS that it was true that two politicians were killed, but could not establish if the killing could be linked to President Jonathan’s visit to Borno.
He said killing of politicians in the state over the past four years has become a routine affair, arguing that the killing of the two politicians should not be linked to Jonathan’s visit.
The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar III, had asked the Federal Government to grant amnesty to Boko Haram members who had killed scores of people in the north, just the way the late President Umaru Yar’Adua granted amnesty to Niger Delta militants.
The Sultan’s request has attracted widespread condemnation by northern Christians and the Emir of Anka, Zamfara State, Alhaji Attahiru Ahmad, who said: “Amnesty is for those people you know. How can you give amnesty to the people you don’t know? Where were our leaders when the Boko Haram were going to receive training outside the country? Let us check ourselves, if there must be justice, let us go back to the basics.”

Politics › Presidency Says Without Pardon, Alamieyeseigha Would Qualify For 2015 Poll by mrofficial2(op): 8:14am On Mar 15, 2013 |
The Nigerian presidency defends its decision to pardon a convicted corrupt leader.
An embattled presidency, Thursday, issued a frenetic defense of President Goodluck Jonathan’s grant of state pardon to former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha; asserting the president’s right to act and refuting criticisms about the propriety of the decision.
Presidential Spokesperson, Doyin Okupe, denied the amnesty will spur public officials to loot the state treasury, as critics have warned, and dismissed similar arguments that the pardon was to prepare Mr. Alamieyeseigha, convicted for huge fraud eight year ago, for elections in 2015.
At any measure, Mr. Okupe said, the former governor would have qualified to seek elective office by 2015, when it would have been 10 years since he was convicted, as stipulated by the constitution.
“Alamieyeiseigha was jailed in 2006, he has already spent eight years after his conviction; the Nigerian Constitution allows you to stand for any post ten years after you must have served your jail term. So whether President Goodluck Jonathan granted him pardon or not, by 2015 he will be fully qualified and eligible to run for election,” Mr. Okupe said.
But it will only be nine, and not 10 years by 2015, since the former governor left jail, invalidating Mr. Okupe’s claim.
Mr. Alamieyeseigha’s pardon, approved by the Jonathan-led Council of States on Tuesday, has ignited a firestorm for a president who lately, faced stinging backlash and public disapproval for strings of policy missteps.
Mr. Alamieyeseigha was cleared alongside seven others, one of them- Shettima Bulama- also an ex-fraud convict. But many Nigerians view the president’s decision as chiefly directed at Mr. Alamieyeseigha, a known political benefactor of the president.
Pardon doesn’t stop corruption
At a press conference on Thursday, the government’s first official briefing since Tuesday, Mr. Okupe said critics were wrong by claiming the presidential pardon showed the administration was abdicating an already shaky anti-graft effort.
That line of argument takes the criticism “too far”, he said, reading from a prepared text.
“It is out of place to suggest that the pardon is tantamount to abandoning the fight against corruption in Nigeria. This is too far from the truth,” he said.
Adopting a more conciliatory tone than an earlier television appearance, where he thumped about the president not owing apologies for the decision, Mr. Okupe appealed to Nigerians to be “open minded” on the issue, and to recognize that “the purpose of punishment,” as stated by English judge, Lord Denning, “is not to destroy the offender but rather to reform him and deter others”.
He subtly highlighted the administration’s argument that after all, the former Bayelsa State Governor’s prosecution was politically motivated.
“Gentlemen of the Press will recall that former Governor DSP Alamieyeseigha was removed from office in a manner that was suggested by many as not being entirely above board,” he said.
Nevertheless, he added, the former governor served his time, lost his position, “forfeited the property illegally acquired and has demonstrated enough soberness after he served his sentence.”
“It has often been said that there is always a season for everything under the sun, a season to punish and a season to forgive. Distinguished gentlemen of the press, fellow Nigerians, this is the season to forgive and to heal. May God forgive us all and bless our country Nigeria,” Mr. Okupe said.
More condemnations
Since the decision on Tuesday, the remarks by government officials have seemed hardly potent enough at reversing the fury that greeted the decision.
Civil society groups warned on Thursday they will oppose the president’s decision, although it is not clear how much they could achieve with the president’s powers for pardon clearly stated.
Citing a dossier of state pardons by American presidents, Mr. Okupe said Nigerians should recognize Mr. Alamieyeseigha’s role in keeping the peace in the restive Niger Delta, which is vital for steady oil sales and a running national economy.
“But in truth Alamieyeisegha since he left prison has been working strenuously and silently to assist the President stabilize the amnesty in the Niger Delta Region. Alamieyeisegha is a foremost leader of the Ijaw Nation, and his political and stabilizing influence in that region have impacted positively on the overall economy of the nation, bringing crude oil exports from the abysmally low level of 700,00 bpd, to over 2.4 million bpd!
“Therefore, it is obvious that, Alamieyeisegha has been a major player since his release from prison in ensuring that the blood that runs through the Nigerian economic artery is not cut off,” he said.

pro01: I agree completely. With the way things are going, I even silently pray this internet fraud business continues to pay off for as many of its perpetrators as possible because, the day it stops paying off. . .we're all in big(ger) trouble. The blatant kidnappings and violent robberies we're witnessing now would be childplay then.
I remember in the mid 2000s when internet fraud was at its Golden Age, the rate of violent cultism reduced drastically in universities (especially in the South West), as many of the blood-thirsty cultists started to channel their efforts towards making money. For the first time, 'nobodies' could also compete with middle-class and silverspoon kids on campus. . .this reduced the phenomenon of violent 'obtaining' (as they used to call it) that used to be quite common, boosted social life and encouraged peace on campuses.
My point is, as bad as internet fraud is, circumstances in Nigeria do not leave room for much hope for the teeming youth population of unemployed graduates and dropouts, hence we need to pick and choose between evils. If these guys cannot make money the non-violent criminal way, then they SHALL attempt to make money the violent criminal way - to the detriment of us all; let's make no mistakes about that. Your post is completely on point, you know better.
I know justwise will still come here to spew crapOh, he already did. |

Breaking News: Behold The Lawyer Behind the Controversial Phantom APC
This morning, a team of crack investigative reporters from Osun Defender Newspapers and our Search Engine Consultants (SEO), dug out with forensic zeal and tore the mask from the face of evasive “masquerades” behind the phantom party, African Peoples Congress (APC), believed to be sponsored by PDP to thwart the merger and registration of the All Progressive Congress.
The picture above is that of the lawyer, one “Barrister Nwokorie Samuel Chinedu” from the floating “Legal World Chambers” who wrote to INEC the controversial letter of intent on behalf of his “clients” the African Peoples Congress (APC). Because of the exposure of the dirty game, the lawyer has switched off his two numbers: 08164257977 and 08053957522. Yesterday, he picked the phone when we called him but he was evasive and not forthcoming of if he was the Barrister Nwokorie Samuel Chinedu, he told us he would call us back and by 8.23 p.m. after so many un-returned calls (44 in all) he switched off his two phones and they are yet to be switched on as at this afternoon before we went to press.
The address on the letter-head— Suite 1007, Block B, Anbeez Plaza in Wuse Zone 5, also happened to be another mystery in the duplicitous game. A staff who pleaded anonymity told us outside the office that none of the members of two chambers that co-habit the office (IJEOMA DESTINY CHAMBERS and Maji-Emmanuel & Co) had any knowledge of either a third chamber by the name: “Legal World Chambers”, neither any partner that bears the name: “Barrister Nwokorie Samuel Chinedu”. The staff after we showed her the printed picture of Barrister Samuel Chinedu said he knew the face but was not a member of the either chamber, and was only a casual acquaintance of one of her principals. She said the drama is not uncommon with charge and bail lawyers who most times do not have a chamber but use the address of their friend’s chambers.
Meanwhile, the vociferous challenge mounted my APC spokespersons has driven the phantom APC to hastily provide “logistics” for the unveiling of a logo this morning in Abuja at a press conference.
Samuel who hailed from Owerri township in Imo State joined FACEBOOK on 11th October, 2008 had only 8 friends – all female, (Bibi Olukini, Chichi Ekpe, Beeorlah Mimi Julia Soyebo, Chibbie Raymnd Nonyizzle, Joy Jade Ikhialose Idomeh, Tenny Olowu, Chioma Kaycee Onyebuchi and Maurine Bayen) in 2008, but grew to 43 in 2009… His steady stream of friends have since grown to 462 as at yesterday 13th march 2013.
More news coming after the press conference.
