Teempakguy:
Right. so, now you have postulated that it is possible to move a body which is not subject to quantum mechanics, through space and time by using electron tunneling. while completely ignoring the particles which do not tunnel. like baryons. for example, protons.

you have absolutely no proof of this, and it is in direct violation of special relativity. which dictates that no information, including a human body, can travel faster than the speed of light.

where is your mathematical description of this apparent miraculous exception to the entire stack of physics laws?
sir, I am not talking about tunneling, hope u understand d concept of tunnelinghuh?? tunneling is the ability of a particle to penetrate a potential barrier where ordinarily it wouldn't have penetrated, we see the concept of tunneling everywhere, in super conductivity, graphene. Now you mentioned special theory of relativity, let me quickly remind you that when we talk of relativity, we may be talking of macro world, where we get time dilation, length contraction and the rest, but here is quantu mechanics, very small and research is showing us that we can get speed greater than that of light, these are just theories, proven theories. Now what I put up there is not about tunneling, its about quantum entanglement. you enter a quantum machine here in Enugu and you appear in another quantum machine in Lagos, without passing through space and time. just like I said in my post, the only thing our Science lacks is the MATHEMATICAL proves of our theories which I know that we commitment and dedication we can do it and the westerners will buy our technology

This has been disturbing my thought since, after four yrs of studying physics nd astronomy, reading journals, I'm compelled to believe that NIGERIA DOES HAVE A SCIENCE.I will be presenting my reasons one at a time. I just pray that the moderators;lalasticlala and the rest of my ogas at d top would move this thread to the front page for reactions from learned gentlemen and ladies in this great forum. Back to the topic: I have looked at somethings happening in Nigeria and compared them to d doctrines of science and technology from the west and I have this reasons to believe that we do have a science. permit me to say that THE ONLY PROBLEM OF NIGERIA SCIENCE is that it LACKS MATHEMATICAL backups and as such, reproducing and mass distributing it is only limited to a particular unicorns per say. with all this introduction, let me state my reasons and like I said, its one at a time . FIRSTLY: I have looked at the issue of people chasing us from the village? if this is true den I must say they is a science behind it. how can someone in the village cause a wealthy and successful business mogul in US to come back with polythene bag? in physics, one of d current discoveries of quantum mechanics is the ability to travel through space and time. it means that one can move from Enugu to US without moving through a car of flight. our witchcraft started doing this since time immemorial, why then did we allow our technology to be given a negative name and we even accepted it. instead of looking for a way to mass produce it or even to deduce a mathematical backup for it, we even pray against it. I believe that if we do the needful to this science we can use this science to our advantage. let me read some reactions. I SINCERELY DEDICATE THIS POST TO LALASTICLALA AND SEUN

Science/TechnologyRe: Could We Terraform The Sun? by mrphysics(m): 3:25pm On Nov 18, 2015
the problem I hav with such topics like dis one z dat d op or d people reacting to d op has little or no knowledge abt astronomy,, dsame problem I had with people on NASA 15 DAYS OF darkness. now to d topic. oga op, u can not approach d surface of d sun neither can u set up a magnetic field around t! why? because, magnetic field on d surface of d sun z very strong. cud u imagine dat even while d distance of d sun to d earth is 8 light minutes, yet we still notice d magnetic field of d sun compressing d earths magnetosphere, to d extent dat they was a day d earth had no magnetic field. d sun constantly eject lots of materials into d space, most of which our magnetic field push to d north causing Aurora in dat region. Eva heard of solar storm? solar flare? suns magnetic field? u r yet to understand what God did on earth dat has been protecting us. I just read what u hav posted and just like people hav commented, u need to stop d sun from burning before u talk abt any other thing which z nt possible. [red] let me educate u a little, d earth, d sun, d moon and d asteroid all hav same origin, just dat it z believed dat during d formation of d sun it ignited even to d surface and dat is why it z believed dat someday, it will burn its material finish and retire to a white dwarf. still reminding u of d fact dat even d interior of d earth z burning heavily. it is also believed dat d earth and d moon r d same just dat during a time, a particular heavy object hit d earth and split it. sir, just like u hav earthquakes on earth, so we hav sunquakes, more dangerous dan d earthquake. stop daydreaming. let me hear from u. Tnks bro for ur thoughts and idea thus far [/red]

I can't believe P. N. Okeke is an actual person, I thought he was a combo of different angry JAMB lecturers using a pseudonym. I think. everyone hated those. Physics textbooks. I'm glad he's still alive.

mrphysics, we do. have scattered areas of Astronomy in Nigeria but they are scattered. And your telescope is nice, but does. everyone have access to it? No. Which defeats the purpose. We are looking at a place where every Nigerian can access and explore Science for free or. for. cheap.

We should organise a National Science fair, let every university and technical college and secondary school showcase.
madam it z accessible to all, its been used to teach third yr and fourth yr students. our lecturers hav a direct link with JAPAN SPACE RESEARCHERS. am nt telling u fictions rather reality. if u go to space centre UNN, it will shock u to note dat every part of Enugu state z been watched, u will b showed near earth objects. my mates deed nice works on atmospheric physics too, sourcing data's on solar activities. we take data's of solar flare, solar storm etc and analyze it. my dear, d truth z dat UNN z very strong in Astronomy. among d five areas of physics, Astronomy has d highest number, followed by SOLAR AND NUCLEAR PHYSICS. ask any physics and astronomy students in UNN nd u will get same answer

Interesting to note that there's something like that in UNN.

Bolded, the guy still lectures there? I recall using his book in sec. school. How I hated his book. . . grin
He z retired sir, he z on contract with UNN, so he z still in UNN. I just laugh when people, mostly dose dat r interested in science fiction, engineers and d rest come to nairaland, saying things they r nt sure of to which I dnt really have time to explain. In UNN students r really doing something, we hav young lecturers trained in JAPAN teaching Astronomy and also we have an astronomy group, dis guys r doing something great, only lacking sponsors from government and organizations bt maximizing d ones they hav. it pains me when I read some comments from Nigerians. UNN hav d ONLY COSMOLOGY PROFESSOR IN NIGERIA. so researches r on going.
Science/TechnologyRe: Visit To Griffith Observatory by mrphysics(m):
well I dnt knw how much u guys think abt astronomy in Nigeria, bt I can assure u dat in UNN under d department of Physics and Astronomy, we hav similar things. though nt big ones bt d ones dat can help u view outside world, Prof. P.N Okeke is seriously working on establishing a RADIO Telescope. u guys shud stop underestimating Nigeria, I think UNN z d only university offering astronomy. I hav viewed d outside world, listened to d movement of sun live, so dis things r nt new to us in UNN.

I've been thinking of that before I open the page: pressure.
meteorology taught us dat, d high u go, d cooler it becomes in our troposphere, also, pressure decreases with altitude truout d layers of d atmosphere. if u r observant enough, u will discover dat as u go up, pressure will decrease, and ur body and d plane is expected to expand! hope u remember dat (pressure decrease leads to expansion) and to maintain d pressure of d plane, d holes r made. its also one of d reasons, commercial planes dnt go up to 10km, because d body of d plane can nt withstand d pressure. tnks

Mathematics and physics require abstract reasoning. Anybody with a high iq would find those subjects really easy regardless of profession. You are just hyping your courses.
how one is in secondary school does nt in any way define d person, I hav seen people who were d best in dia secondary school days bt end u average in university. with experience I can tell u dat d worst student in secondary who is determined to succeed will do well in d university. Again, my brother, unlike what u think abt maths and physics, somethings r really difficult. I must submit to d fact dat engineers produce d things u and I need, I.e our domestic needs, bt beyond dat what next? everyone wants to learn how to use Auto card, design buildings, do plumbing, repair cars, wire houses, construct roads, dis things r there really sciencehuh?? technicians can do t more dan u. we r talking abt Science, d near future, d next technology, nuclear energy, solar energy, health etc dat is smartness young man. who do engineers nt receive noble prize awards? why do physicists dominate electronics, electricity etc, hav u heard abt super conductivityhuh dat z smartness. d engineers may find gud construction companies to work in Nigeria, bt its nt what we r talking abt, we r talking abt smartness in the things been done. just like someone rightly said, d engineers implement to d domestic consumption of people the things discovered by physicist, and I hav prophesies to u dat very soon u will see SOLAR ENGINEERING which is completely physics. Tnks nd happy Sunday

he doesn't hav such knowledge, I was telling one of friend dat, we were taught meteorology and I can tell him d level planes can fly and d reason for t, I can also tell him why @NNAMDI KANU was able to transmit from London and can switch in between frequencies without been jammed. I can apply my atmospheric physics in airport more dan an engineer can do . I can tell him how d atmosphere looks and behaves. the best cloud to fly and many more.

A physicist is in no way smarter than an engineer. Here in Nigeria the most intelligent students are to wont to become Engineers or doctors. I, for example, am a high-end genius but I am studying Mechanical Engineering, although I easily Mathematics and Physics.
as an undergraduate, I was following up with my friends in mechanical engineering, comparing what they were doing, and for u to think u do well in physics and mathematics is just at engineering level. my dear, u hav nt seen anything called maths. most times I laugh wen people shout at how hard engineering maths is, bt they hav nt seen MATHEMATICAL PHYSICS. my point is dat at Energy centres, NASA, National space centre Abuja and any place we hav both engineers and physicists working, d physicists will always b directing d engineers on what to implement. no one is fighting for superiority of courses here, we r just facing facts. THEY Z NO AREA OF ENGINEERING THAT A PHYSICIST HAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF, even if its a surface knowledge, bt d reverse is not d case. currently in Nigeria, its only PHYSICIST dat r doing SOLAR ENERGY, bt very soon, u will see SOLAR ENGINEERING. An engineering undergraduate does no course on Solar Energy or Nuclear. can u see what am talking abthuh? when I go tru d notes of my Engineering friends, I understand all they r been thought. bt I was teaching, Sandwich student Quantum Mechanics and my engineering friend hav nt heard of what a wave function is, so how will he now b in control of d next technology coming up? if I den talk abt SOLID STATE, PARAMAGNETISM AND DIAMAGNETISM dat r completely quantum mechanical, den he will b a novice. let me stop here for now. tnks
Science/TechnologyRe: Physicists Or Engineers by mrphysics(m):
Teempakguy:
well, since the question is that who is smarter, then the answer is undoubtedly the physicists.

don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that studying physics makes you smarter, i'm saying that smarter people are naturally more attracted to physics than towards engineering.

Albert Einstein
Nikola Tesla
Archimedes
Galileo Galilei
Blaise Pascal

i need not continue. you see, physics is what you study when you have such an unquenchable thirst for knowledge of how nature works. such huge curiosity and intellect. engineering is what you study when you want to learn how to make and design things. however, i wouldn't be so quick to dismiss our able engineers.
engineers are very practical. they barely use their abstract thinking. this is not an insult, abeg. grin they are usually quite logical. they don't have time for "thought experiments." hahaha. grin grin
nowadays, most physicists don't even do anything besides write and think. and think some more. and write . . . and then think a little. and then think some more. grin grin grin

engineers are always tinkering and drawing and DOING things.

i end with this quote.
I agree with u completely, u got t right. everyday, d physicist is busy thinking out d next thing in d areas of engineering and medicine, whereas, d engineer z busy using d already made technology to make more fanciful products. I did my project on how GRAPHENE/Nickel Oxide can replace silicon in electronics and solar panels. because of d limitations of silicon. bt most of my engineering friends were constructing a prototype etc. so I can boldly tell u how technology will b in 2030. I hav more foresight on how things will revolve in d nearest future dan an engineer. since the future of technology is embedded in d principles of Quantum Mechanics, and whereas, d subject is nt taught to engineers, physicist will always hold d key to technology

Pls ooo, I made a design on photoshop a flyer to be precise but I coudnt get to print it. It has to be converted to corel draw which I don't know how to do so I have to use corel draw all over for the design. Pls help, and d sizing.
I had similar problem bro. most press still use corel draw nd u hav to put it in corel draw format. now this is what u need to do. get ur flyers into an A2 size, depending on d number of flyers u need otherwise use A3. put it in a JPEG format, take t to a gud press, let them open it with corel draw, den look up on d corel draw menu, u will see x =, y=, kindly key in d size of d A2 or A3 size nd den hit ENTER. @dark horizon, wen I was doing my project, I actually worked on THIN FILMS, GRAPHENE/Nickel Hydroxide, they was a lecturer in materials and metallurgical engineering, he brought the engineering students dat he z supervising into our lab to do a project on what he z working on in his Ph.D thesis. My point is dat, dis students really didn't understand what actually they r learning and the practical aspect of t. u really knw their niche. well, I just pray that Nigeria will realise how to use d physicists nd engineers together. r u a physicist? graduate? which school.
Science/TechnologyRe: Physicists Or Engineers by mrphysics(m): 12:44pm On Nov 13, 2015
that is d point, we hav failed to distinguish the difference between an engineer and a technician. in d field of engineering, d engineers work like d physicist, directing and improving d works of d technician. well, am a physicist nd I must tell u dat we hav a broader understanding of engineering though nt practical. u will agree with me dat d recent technologies we hav now has its principle of operation in quantum mechanics. the engineers can do many things practically, bt d underlying principle on why they do what they do is wat they can't decipher. wen I was writing my project, I had a mechanical engineer working in materials, he was constructing a lighter and bullet proof car door. I asked him why he was using d POLYMER material, he didn't knw bt he was using t because the previous people dat worked on dat project used it. let me stop here for now.
