Nigeria is said to be one of the most religious nations in the world, this seems to be true because Nigerians are known to be prayerful and religious people, both the Christians and the Muslims are prayerful.

There are a lot of churches and ministries in Nigeria today, the walls on the streets are filled with lots of church posters, the electricity poles are not spared as sometimes you can see church posters pasted tightly around it. The fences and Gates of some personal houses are not spared as well, as some church posters are being pasted on them.

The church posters are used to create awareness and to invite people to church programs. Some church posters are normal, while others are extremely hilarious, this is because an attempt to make the posters catchy makes them end up looking like a joke.

Nigeria has a lot of cultural practices, a lot of which have gone into extinction. Explore some of the ancient beliefs of the Yoruba people.

They are rich in culture and tradition, which most still practise till this day. Every ethnic group, in the ancient days, saw the need to come up with rules that the society had to live by in order to keep the land clean. This need to sanitise the society and prevent cultural abuses has led to the establishment of cultural taboos and abominations.

These taboos are things that must never be done in Yorubaland, though some are not unique to the Yoruba people.

1. Adultery

Yoruba culture forbids a married woman to have sexual relations with a man that isn't her husband. A man that suspects his wife of cheating could be tempted to lace her with magun, which is one of the strangest tradition in Nigeria. Magun could lead to her lover losing his life or getting stuck while in the act. This taboo is more critical against women than against men, so it is highly frowned upon for a wife to cheat on her husband.

2. A king and his royal crown

Kings in Yorubaland are forbidden from looking inside of his royal crown. A king must wear a crown but he must never peer into it. The day he does it is the day he will join his ancestors. Kings could be allowed to do this if they insist on committing suicide.

3. A strapped baby must never fall from its mother’s back

It is an abomination in Yorubaland for a baby to fall from its mother’s back. It is believed that if a male child falls from its mother’s back, he will always lose his wife at adulthood, while for a female, she will always have a lover die atop her when she grows up. If a baby does fall from its mother’s back, the mother is expected to carry out some rituals to prevent evil from happening to the child when it grows.

4. Suicide

Committing suicide is a serious abomination in Yorubaland, and the body must not be lowered down until some sacrifices are performed to appease the gods. The body of such individual will be thrown into the evil forest or outside the town to avoid invoking the anger of the gods on the land. The family of an individual that commits suicide will be tainted forever in the community.

5. Unclean food

It is generally considered unclean to consume dog meat, pork, and cat meat among others. While many Yorubas will never taste dog meat but gladly consume African rabbit (Okete), the Ondo people consider Okete an abomination but will gladly eat dog meat with relish


6. Same sex relations

This is forbidden in Yorubaland. Although many people practice it in Nigeria, it is still considered an abomination in Yorubaland.

7. Whistling

Men and women are not allowed to whistle at nights in Yorubaland. Whistling at nights is believed to invite demons and evil spirits into the house to torment people. Additionally, it is believed that whistling could attract snakes and reptiles into the house at night.

Secondly, women do not usually marry the men they are sexually attracted to. The men they marry are those beta males that will offer them commitment and financial security for free after they've spent their youth having sex with all kinds of bad boys who refused to offer them commitment and treated them like shit. Even while married to these men, they still are attracted to these bad boys, and they will cheat on their simp husband's with them and have kids for them.

Sowore and other activists, according to Sahara Reporters, were carrying out a peaceful procession to mark the New Year when they were arrested by Nigerian security forces in Abuja.

This is because, men are the head of the family and every individual in the family look up to them for survival. This has caused extra pressure on every man who want to be responsible.



Well, no human can stop death from happening, but there are certain things men can do to improve their chances of living long and healthy. This article has selected seven of these things, please take note as you read through.

• Stop Smoking


The first thing every man should stop doing in order to live long is smoking. Cigarettes and tobacco contains a substance called 'Nicotine' which is very addictive and a number one cause of cancer. Not only is smoking a cancer causing act but it also causes high blood pressure and other serious health complications. This cause of death is very preventable. The only thing to do is to just stop smoking.



• Don't Hold Grudges


The best thing to do if you are a man and you have an issue with other people is to confront them and let them know how you feel about the matter. Anyway, why should a man even hold a grudge? Just leave the grudges for the women. Either way, It is not advisable because it is harmful to one's health.

Holding grudges increases the levels of stress hormone which is not good for a functioning immune system.



• Don't Be Idle, Be Active

If you are a man, regular exercise is something you should never feel lazy to do. Take about 15 to 30 minutes of your time to exercise everyday. This will boost blood flow to important organs and keep you healthy. Not only does regular exercise keep you healthy, it also improves your performance in bed. In as much as regular exercise is good for men, exercises that are too difficult or strenuous should be avoided as much as possible.


Apart from the fact that being active keeps you healthy, it also helps you to be a capable man. In fact, no woman likes an idle man. There is even a saying that says "the devil finds work for the idle". So instead of doing nothing, find something doing.



• Don't Be Too Reserved


Being too reserved as a human is not healthy, that is why God gave us family and friends to share our problems and encourage one another. A person who often keep to himself is prone to physical and mental health problems. So, instead of keeping all the problems to yourself, please share with trusted friends and family. After all, a problem shared is half solved.

• Don't Overstress Yourself, Have Enough Sleep


One of the major problems of men is stress and inadequate sleep. These are bad habits every man need to avoid. An average man needs about 6 to 8 hours of sleep everyday. Any hours of sleep lesser than this, if continued for a longer time can be deadly.

To address this problem, every man should at least sleep to relax the body and gain back lost strength by sleeping for 6 to 8 hours everyday as stated above.

• Avoid Eating Junk And Processed Foods

Processed and junk foods are not good for men because they contain less fiber which is good for digestion and metabolism. They also contain too much saturated fat, sodium and sugar. All these in excess causes diabetes, hypertension, decreased performance in bed, etc.


Instead, eat foods rich in fiber and other essential nutrients. Also include fruits and vegetables in your diet to strengthen your immune system.

• Don't Always Live In Fear and Denial


To be a man also means accepting life as it comes. Facing your challenges and accepting responsibilities for your actions. Living in fear and denial causes unnecessary stress and anxiety. This can reduce a man's lifespan drastically. So please, accept whatever life throws at you, it will give you the strength to carry on.

What God is saying is that if you are a woman, be feminine in your dressing and if you are a man, be masculine in your dressing. God placed that LAW because of the madness that is on the earth. Before the set of bobrisky and co, gender confusion has been existing, the world moves in circle.

Now the reason why most African churches were against women wearing trousers was because of the African culture, women don't wear trousers in Africa so they were brought up to attack any woman wearing trouser as it is seen as the westernized culture.

We have our own ways of dressing in Africa. The thing now is, we are dealing with a global world and righteousness is righteousness in Africa, in America, in Europe, in Asia, in the moon, in heaven and on earth no matter the skin color or geographical location. It's the same judgement.

The issue shouldn't be about a woman wearing trouser but modesty. In Scotland, men wear skirt, that's their culture. If the queen of England is to wear trouser, of course she won't wear a pencil trouser or trousers that will reaveal the shape of her butts, figures and vaginal. She will wear a decent, modest trouser. The same thing goes with women that represent nations at the United Nation, you will never find them wear camel toes and all kinds. They are all modestly dressed even in trousers.

So as a Christian lady, if you must buy jean trouser or any kind of trousers at all, buy the trousers that covers well not the one that will advertise your butts and all to the world. Buy the one that will bring you honor, dignity and glory.

I say again, it is not about trouser or whatever we wear but modesty. That is what God wants.
