Necksonnel: Okay. Thank you. Really appreciate And one more thing please take your time and plan well, especially when it comes to the timeframe of applying for visa and when you are to submit your visa approval to your school so as not to lose your seat for your course. I see lots of people applying for their student visa as late as October and November while their study starts by January. Its just too risky just incase of late visa approval after school’s deadline or visa denial which would lead to reapplying. In my case, I used the whole of July to research about applying and gathering documents, applied to a college in early August and ensured there was a minimum 7 months gap from date of application to my course start date, got admission late August, paid fees early September, applied for visa late September and got PPR early November. In other words, I got my ppr 6 months to my course start date. So my advice to future applicants is to plan well… |

Necksonnel: What about someone like me who did medical biochemistry. Any possibility of getting IT courses like data analysis or data science, or I should just apply for medical related courses
And secondly, how useful is post secondary certificates in Canada? Can someone get a job with them? Or it’s better I apply for diploma programs which are 2 years To the best of my knowledge, I won’t advice you to go for an IT course except if you’ve worked in the IT field after graduation, personally, what I would do is apply for a bio chem related course, then when i get to Canada, i can change to an IT course. Secondly, post secondary courses are a no for me, even the VO would have a hard time understanding why you are going for it. Apply for the post graduate certificate or diploma, its really not that difficult to get. |

We really need to be very careful with some so called agents, Hopefully the right person gets to see this.
Please if you were the guy discussing with an agent on moving to Canada as a student at mega chicken close to festac, please put a halt to any business you have with him.
I overheard the agent telling him he can apply for a health course while having a computer science background. He said all he needed to do was to just explain in his SOP while saying it wasn’t a big deal and how he has helped many people scale that fence. I thought of interjecting but i just mute since them no put my mouth for their discussion.
Hopefully he gets to see this because I heard the applicant mention nairaland, if not na premium tears. |

ALHAMDULLILAH!!! ALHAMDULLILAH!!! ALHAMDULLILAH!!! I got my PPR. This journey definitely did not start today, it began way back in 2017 and I'm grateful it ended with a good note. As you can see from the image i attached below, it started way back in 2017, but i knew there was no way in hell i could raise the money for Canada at that time.
So I had to make up my mind and develop my tech skill for Two hard years while working at a very terrible company, mehn those were trying times. Just like they say "Tough times never last, but tough people do", God came through for me and I got a contract job with a foreign company and the pay was really good, so good I kinda forgot about my initial japa plans and as the Almighty would have it, My contract with the foreign company came to an end.
Sadness engulfed me but I had to pick myself up and started applying until I got a local company, but to be honest, after assessing my salary and our economy, I knew I had to go back to my original plan which was now possible thanks to my frugal lifestyle LOL, I didn't even own a car except for land properties sha.
But this my Application was filled with tension, I Mistakenly did not upload my Two passport photograph, Application for study permit made outside of Canada and Family Information, If not for my brother that was just assuring me that it will end in success LOL, I almost gave up and thought of cancelling my application, but at the end, it did end with success and also shout out to @bullstriker who also assured that it was not really a big deal. Big thanks to @zubizareta and others, without your guidances a lot of us would really be lost, may the Almighty bless you guys, Amin.

TradeSunMoore: Yes. I have submitted 3 webforms so far and I received email confirmation within 48 hrs that it has been added to the file. It also reflects on the tracker as the document you submitted has been received Oh, I only got an auto generated mail acknowledgement but nothing like my files have been added, while on my tracker, I still have nothing on it. Although I applied 29th of Sept and filled the webform for additional documents on 2nd Oct and my biometrics is this week. The fact that you submitted 3 and still got a reply that your application has been updated really baffles me on why I have not gotten a tangible reply. I guess I'll raise it when I go for biometrics. |

Good day house, I really appreciate the insightful info from this space and I would like to make some inquiry. I have a property for rent, which was purchased in 2015, I completed the building early this year and started renting it out few months ago. I plan on using it for home ties and steady income while studying, i'd like to know if deed of assignment, survey plan and tenancy agreement is enough for the land documents? and for the land valuation, is it ok to use a local real estate company to estimate the property valuation? |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by MRtristan: 12:29pm On Jun 23, 2022 |
MRtristan: My interview experience was quite interesting, I wanted to be noticed by anyone interviewing me, so I mentioned in my CV how the company I work for (a Tax investigation Firm) recovered unpaid Taxes (hundreds of millions of $) for the FGN from oil servicing and man-power companies in the oil and gas industry :
6 of us were called from the theater, the secretary or HR rep was a beautiful lady, she asked for our CV’s and left. Minutes later she came back and asked “who is ….” I answered, she smiled and said “in your CV, you said you like meeting people, is that true?” LOL I was shocked, I couldn’t remember writing that because I wrote some portions years ago, whenever I updated it, I never bothered about those parts, she noticed I was contemplating and said “ I hope you did all those things you mentioned in your CV” and left. Sharply, I started browsing my CV and memorizing the parts I never bothered myself with while two guys were ushered in before me.
I greeted all the panelist and was asked to take a seat, the chief panelist introduced everyone to me and asked me the almighty question TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF. I explained in details my job position, what my company does and kept linking my experience with what NNPC required in their key competencies. I spent close to 5 minutes explaining all these. They asked the software’s we use, how we protect our data, how many projects we were currently working on etc. I was asked IT questions such as what is malware, software bug, programming, how many languages can I program in, what programming project have I worked on, name the 7 layers of the OSI Model which I couldn’t remember but they shrugged it off by saying with all these years as an analyst you wont remember much about networking.
The HSE question caught me off guard, I was asked to explain how my office practices safety, LOL, lord knows we don’t do nothing on safety in my company, luckily, I was able to use their office as reference, I talked about office light to be easy on the eye, well leveled tables and chairs for comfort, tried to stop there but they kept pressing for more, so I remembered the TV in the theater and explained how we are being told in my office to exit via the stairs instead of the lift in case of fire and also taught how to use the fire extinguisher, sharply one of them just asked if I can teach them too, lol I just told them that I don’t listen to the explanation much because I pray to God never to experience fire outbreak, they all laughed and felt satisfied with my answer.
I was also asked to explain a difficult situation I faced, told them about a client that needed an arduous job done in 3 days and how I met the deadline by using extra man hours and delegating other team members and mentioning their skills used in accomplishing the task. The panel chairman decided to give me a nick name “The Data Man”, I was smiling but deep inside, I was like “I hope say no be washing be this”. Then they said I can ask a question, I inquired what was the next stage, they said the interview was the final but medicals was needed to know if fit for NNPC and security check will be done to know if you’re a yahoo boy…lol I raised my hand up and said “sir, I have never stolen in my life (inside me, I remember stealing meat from kitchen sha lol)” they all laughed and kept saying “the data man”, they thanked me and told me that was all, I thanked them also and left.
The secretary saw me out and silently told me “you did well”, I thanked her too and she went back in. I shook everyone waiting for their interview wished them good luck and left.
Finally, my favorite saying “Life is hard, but it’s harder if you’re stupid”, I do wish to work in NNPC but if in the end I do not get it, I move on. As a matter of fact, I am working on a personal website project which involves publicity, currently 90% done, I will drop the link here soon for anyone who wishes to join and its free. Wow, its almost 3years now, the sadness that engulfed me when i realised i was not getting the job, but I had to move on with utmost determination and never giving up, spent the next 15 months studying data science. Now i have been working remotely at a foreign company earning in foreign currency, an amount i would never have gotten as an nnpc employee. Thank you God, I am forever grateful…remember folks, the mottos are “never give up and always try to be better”… |

chidiebereuzoma: I was asked the same question on osi model, after listing the seven layers from the top to the bottom, they asked me at which layer does the router work and I gave them the answer which is the network layer(layer 3). They probed further by asking me what's the function of a router. Lol I smiled in my mind because I have practical skills in networking and I am also very good in theory. I actually had some difficulties in the situational and behavioral questions, but I still gave them the answers the asked for albeit not swiftly. I'm hoping for the best. Please are you a GT or EH?
