stillchris: how does this change the fact that we trained your air force chief? bastarrd Nigerian It changes everything because MK and APLA rebels were all trained by incompetent militaries across Africa except those who were trained by Algeria and include Mandela. SANDF retrained them because they were very ignorant of many things in Military affairs. The skill and tactics that they are as at today using were all acquired from SANDF. |

"Bama’s reclaim, which was led by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Division, Maj-Gen. Lamidi Adeosun, was said to be a very “fast and secretive” one in which the officers and men had to toe the line behind the infantry general into the town without knowing his next moves.
“The GOC did not meet any serious resistance between Konduga and Bama indicative of the fact that the insurgents who are now in confusion had actually retreated and galvanized arsenals in Bama town waiting for the show down to finally reclaimed the captured town last September,” said a Bama resident that came to Maiduguri Tuesday afternoon."

Henry120: type used by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Training Centre, formed under the auspices of the UN. The Cessna 150 was used as an initial flying trainer. The aircraft obtained by the Museum is of the type flown by Azanian People's Liberation Army (APLA) members in exile, but is not one of the actual aircraft used to train the volunteers. Members of these Non-Statutory Forces were trained at Zaria in Nigeria and are referred to as “The Class of ‘77”.
In 1976 a decision was taken by the APLA High Coomand, Central Committee and the Military Comission to train aviatiors. A group of 22 were identified and sent to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Training Centre at Zaria. Fourteen pilots and eight aircraft engineers were trained. One of those was Deputy Chief of the SAAF, Major General Gerald Malinga.

Nigerian Paratroopers continue to perform combat drops. In the just concluded flintlock exercise Nigerian special forces conducted free fall high altitude drops. Nigerian paratroopers and special forces have never reached that level of transporting equipments with parachute, not to mention landing with dogs. All the free fall exercises Nigeria has leant it abroad. SA has an institution which even train civilians to do HALOs and HAHOs that you can never find in Nigeria even if you like. |

agaugust: The NATO force did not use anti-submarine helicopters and anti-torpedo counter measures against the South African submarine.
Targeting an enemy warship with submarine torpedo is only stage one of sea combat. Stage two is submarine fires torpedo and ship replies with anti-torpedo decoys and defeats the torpedo. Stage three is that the position of the hiding submarine is now exposed and the ship attacks with it's own torpedoes and also launches anti-submarine helicopter to attack the submarine.
Stage four is that Mandela's bank loan purchased submarine will be sunk that day ! . Your poor measures will not work at all. Torpedo's are not easy to defeat at all even with the most anti-torpedo mechanisms. With submarines prevention will always be better than cure. Submarines should be detected before they make any attack because it is very difficult to stop them once they have launched the attack. It will be like most stu.pid man who will trust his natural immunity over HIV instead of using a condom. If you wait for subs to discharge torpedoes and think that your anti-torpedo suite will protect you, then you are playing with fire. Such is only meant to be used as second line of defence when sub was undetected in time and often the measure is said to be a gambling game. It is not guaranteed that it will stop torpedoes. You are still an amateur when it comes to naval tactics. Currently, Nigeria has zero ship that can stop submarines other than their outdated heli that can perform anti-sub operations. Only one sub can cause a serious damage against NN as in current. |

rka1: For the benefit of a d@mb Msauza;
Nigerian troops recapture two strategic local governments from Boko Haram The Nigerian military on Saturday said it has recaptured two more local governments from Boko Haram militants in the North Eastern part of Nigeria after intense fighting. The spokesperson for the Nigerian Army, Sani Usman, a Colonel, said in a statement that troops have flushed out Boko Haram terrorists from Mafa and Marte Local Government Areas of Borno state. “In continuation of avowed recovery of territories held by Boko Haram insurgents, the Nigerian military have recaptured Mafa and Marte Local Governments Areas of Borno State on Wednesday and Friday respectively, Mr. Sani said. “During these operations, the gallant and courageous troops recovered a large quantity of high caliber of arms and ammunitions including anti-aircraft guns from the insurgents.” He added, “It is significant to note that our troops did not suffer any casualty during these operations. Presently, troops are conducting cordon and search and mopping up operations in the recovered territories, while effort is ongoing to recover more grounds from the fleeing terrorists. “With the capture of Mafa, Marte LGAs, and the Chadian troops holding fort in Dikwa, the international route from Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Central African Republic is now fully secured. “With this positive development, the security of the area has significantly improved. It is hoped that international trade and socio-economic activities would be restored along this corridor.” Nigerian troops have routed terrorists from different towns and communities, including Bara, the Headquarter of Gulani Local Government Area of Yobe State in the last few weeks. Soldier also retook Gulak, the Headquarter of Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State. Other locations also cleared in the course of the ongoing operation include: Shikah, Fikayel, Tetebah, Buza, Kamla and Bumsa, the military said. With the intensive military operations, the troops have also recovered Monguno, Marte, Gamboru Ngala, Dikwa and Baga among other big towns and communities. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/178103-nigerian-troops-recapture-two-strategic-local-governments-from-boko-haram.html Behind the idea, minds and shrewdness of SA mercenaries is victory. I COULD GO ON,BUT WE ALL KNOW THESE THINGS. Your list of battles make me tired. Those were not even war but small outings. Nigeria in Mali fled and left France alone. Anyway, as usual, do your research. The operation was under instruction from the Nigerian military while SANDF are busy posing for photos. Nah!! SA mercenaries are fighting on the colours of Nigeria. Most towns are recovered by Chad, dummy. |

rka1: Continue to glory hunt. I would really like to know what SA mercs are flying Alpha Jets, F-7s. They must be unique pilots who can just step into any fighter aircraft without a conversion course Little do you know that there are instructors in theatre because of new equipment being used, olodo. Of course, they are very unique, that's why they are currently giving training to your poorly trained pilots. F7s are just a second generation machines with an outdated weapon system. Any pilot who has flown 3rd to 4th generation fighters will fly your F7s and Alpha jets with ease. However, to be specific your F7s have been grounded and they are currently not playing any major role in air offensive since they cannot launch PGMs, dymmy. Your Alpha jets are the ones being currently used to lauch aerial attacks. |

You always get Foreign help . No SA military is under the control of Tanzanian general in DRC. The Tanzanian general is only heading the mission because of his fluency in Swahili, the language that is widely spoken in eastern DRC including M23 rebels. He is going to be an important assert when he has to negotiate with rebels to surrender weapons in the language that they best understand. The American former special forces were in SA for a tour concerning a TV game show. They were here and they left. They never came into contact with SANDF other than game rangers in a private game reserve. SANDF does not need foreign help. |

FighterPilot: 100% I agree, those are just mere jumpers by the kind of parachute the use. It was merely made for safe landing and not to be maneuvered in the air to land where the operator want. They are not free fall operators like SANDF paratroopers. Nigeria has no single free fall operator and they are still babies as far as parachuting is concerned. Bwahahahahahahahaha… do you mean Nigerian soldiers cannot do free fall jump? Whatever, they should come to SA to receive training. Somewhere in 2010 SA held an international advanced military free fall course, falling from 10 000 ft above the ground.
