Henry120:It was not designed to support troops in active battle, it was designed to protect itself from ground fire. However, you cannot compare it to SA made Rooivalk |
Henry120:That does not amount to protecting Africa. |
SOLDIERS TAKE THEIR LIVES IN FEAR OF BEING DEPLOYED TO FIGHT BOKO HARAM. http://www.tribune.com.ng/news/news-headlines/item/18502-soldiers-shoot-selves-to-avoid-deployment-to-boko-haram-communities RATHER END UP WITH A BULLET WOUND THAN HAVING YOUR HEAD CHOPPED OFF. |
lezz:For your information SA has the most millionaires than any country in Africa. Our lottery produce millionaires every month. Apart from that we always had concentration of millionaires than any country in Africa. Our wealth among citizens is spread evenly even though is not racially equal, for I know is the argument you will bring. SA does not individuals who runs the show alone through monopoly capital like DANGOTE. |
NaijaPikinGidi:Yet, you are in SA begging for pap. We are under protection of Nigeria and others, yet I do not see foreign soldiers roving the street of our cities. Generals do not do the work, soldiers on the ground do under their own respective commanders. The fact that AU or UN is headed by a Nigerian, Malawian or German does not mean that their countries head such institutions. Just because Nkosazana Zuma head AU does not necessarily mean we can boast that SA is giving protection to the whole of Africa. You are a mad man. |
Henry120:You are living in Disney land where you are forever enjoying life with your ferry queens. My friend, GDP per capita tells a different story between the two countries. Generally, life is better in SA than that in Naija. |
NaijaPikinGidi:Don't you even see that South Africans are by far more better than Nigerians in terms of electricity supply. Woojooo!!! |
This is a must to read for @agaugust http://m.engineeringnews.co.za/article/can-sa-meet-its-new-target-for-universal-electricity-access-2014-02-28 |
11% of SA households still without electricity BY: LEANDI KOLVER The percentage of South African households with access to electricity had increased by 8.2% between 2002 and 2012, from 77.1% to 85.3%; however, a large amount of households were still without electricity or could not afford to use adequate electricity to satisfy their needs, Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) said on Thursday. According to its General Household Survey (GHS), in 2012, 1.45-million, or 11%, of South African households did not have access to electricity, while another 3.6%, or 578 005, households accessed electricity informally or illegally. Out of the 3.6% without formal access to electricity, 73.1% were connected to an informal source that the household paid for, while 11.7% made use of illegal connections. “Although significant progress has been made by the national electrification programme to provide electricity to all households, future progress will be hampered by the cost-ineffectiveness of providing mains electricity to remote rural households and the difficulty of providing electricity to predominantly informal dwellings in largely unplanned and unstructured informal areas,” Stats SA said, adding that alternative sources of energy, therefore, had to be considered. “Emphasis should be placed on off-grid renewable-energy solutions to improve energy access for remote and difficult-to-service poor households,” the organisation noted. Further, the GHS found that, while rural households remained more likely than urban households to be without electricity, at 19.7% compared with 12.4%, up to 40.4% of households in informal urban areas also did not have access to mains electricity. In rural areas, 33.5% of households in formal rural areas and 17.3% of households in tribal areas did not have access to mains electricity. The highest percentage of households connected to the main grid were reported in the Northern Cape and the Free State, with 91.9% and 91.5% of households connected respectively. Stats SA further said 98.2% of households with access to electricity used it for lighting, while 84.5% did so for cooking. “This is significant as lighting is estimated to account for only about 5% to 10% of the energy http://m.engineeringnews.co.za/article/11-of-sa-households-still-without-electricity-2013-11-14 |
In 2013 over 1 million households of the remaining 2.5 million that previously did not have electricity got access to electricity. http://moonofthesouth.com/1-million-households-electrified/ |
In 2009 only 2.5 million households were without electricity. http://www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/2-5-million-households-without-electricity-1.436335#.VDkZ1VlBtAg |
In 2009 we had only 2.5 million household with no electricity http://www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/2-5-million-households-without-electricity-1.436335#.VDkZ1VlBtAg |
Patchesagain:Pat actually those stats of world bank are inaccurate. I watched the programme on SABC somewhere around winter where it was announced that over 95% households in SA now are electrified with electricity. Those stats are somehow outdated. |
lekkie073:What that you have written above boil down to selfishness harboured by Nigerian magnate. Teach them that there is something called donations which Bill Gates once did by sharing his wealth in half and Motsepe of SA followed the suit by doing the same for his people. Dangote will never do it since he is a greedy Muslim. Meanwhile, Nigeria's entertainment industry is only good for Nigeria or perhaps west Africa. In SA we are happy with our house music. |
AugustineAgain:You are a loser!!!! |
agaugust:Because they know is a pure lie, thats why they wouldnt argue.Do you mean photos of post 1994 during which times were tough for blacks to access electricity? SA has moved forward and the only areas with no electricity are those that either practically impossible for electrification because of the terrain such as those who live in the remote villages on top of mountains and those who live in informal settlement which by the way is temporary. Since, SA cannot challenge you, I want you to attach sources which are not older than one year to substantiate your claims. This year around June, I watched a programme on television which confirmed that SA now has electrified over 95% household. So, chief don't spread lies please. Eskom is working everyday in SA to ensure that every household has access to electricity free of charge. |
NaijaPikinGidi:She simply has reduced you to nothing. She amounted you to naught in a. SA women's way. |
I can confidently say that as at today, under the ANC government, over 95% households have electricity. THAT I AM SURE!!! The ANC first objectives when they assumed power in 1994, through the policy of RDP they pledged to electrify and to install sewage system (sanitation) to every household in SA and now I am appalled by @Agaugust unfounded claims about certain imaginery 15 million people without power. |
agaugust:You still live in the past. SA as at today has every village, town and city electrified. I have never seen any area in SA without electricity. So, where do you get your imaginary 15 million? |
LaBellaMafiaZA:Surely, you have reduced him to nothing. Bwahahaha!!, |
lezz:What do you mean rich? I have already concluded that your level of education is not above tertiary learning. Some concepts of economy are way too complicated for some pea-sized brain like yours to comprehend. Nigeria is not richer than SA at all. It only has a bigger consumer market. My friend, the use of generators and absence of electricity is the epitomy of failure. Economy as big as Nigeria's should have a stable power supply and refrain from its backwardness. |
lezz:I hope your tail is packed up concealed behind your back or else, I will unfold the drama. |
LaBellaMafiaZA:Thaba-Tshwane formerly voortrekerhoogte, what a place!! Hope you enjoyed your stay. |
NaijaPikinGidi:Your host really rocks the world, where else would you have found that warm hospitality? |
lezz:When a dog enters a new territory it hides its tail between its legs. Hence, I will reduce you into that dog and hold you to the corner for some drama. Beware!!! |
lezz:The only thing that gives you the edge over SA is your population that has a more PPP. Your population has more buying power, hence the sporadic growth of your economy. However, it can only be drawn up to there and if we look further you have nothing to show for your bigger economy. SA corrupt government is building infrastructure, offers grants to the old and young to fight poverty, build roads and free houses. What does your clean audit government do for your people in Nigeria who are living in the squalor of poverty? I am afraid that the answer is a big NOTHING. The results are clearly seen from millions of generator users in your country. All the top 30 biggest economies in the world produces stable electricity to their citizens and unfortunately Naija is there with nothing to show for its bigger economy, only figures can be shown. |
LaBellaMafiaZA:That one is just only a walk in the park, hence the name @less. He is just less in everything. Take him on and slaughter him. |
LaBellaMafiaZA:THATS TRUE, THAT IS THEIR SYNDROME OF TRAVELING THE WHOLE WORLD IN SEARCH OF GREENER PASTURES. NO WONDER MANY OF THEM FALL INTO SHADY 419 INTERNATIONAL SCAM AND DRUG BUSINESS OUT OF FRUSTRATION. YOU COMMAND LOT OF RESPECT IN NIGERIA IF YOU ARE AN AMERICANA CUM NIGERIAN. |
Patchesagain:AGAUGIST DOES NOT LIVE IN THE US. YOU SEE, ALL NIGERIANS ADMIRE LIVING IN THE US. IT IS THEIR DREAM, WHILE EVERYONE WILL WANT TO ENTER PARADISE, IT IS JUST MORE THAN GOOD FOR NIGERIANS TO ENTER AMERICA, THEIR EARTHLY HEAVEN. ANOTHER POINT OF NOTE IS THAT MOST NIGERIANS ARE NOT SO MUCH PROUD ABOUT NIGERIA. ASK THEM ABOUT WHAT DO THEY WANT TO BE IN FUTURE, THEY WILL NEVER FINISH THE WORDS WITHOUT EVER MENTIONING LIVING IN THE US OR UK MAKING IT BIG. THATS WHERE ALL THEIR GREENER PASTURES ARE AND EVEN IN NIGERIA YOU WILL BE TREATED WITH HIGH REGARD SHOULD YOU BE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO AMERICA. EVEN NIGERIANS WHO WASH DEAD BODIES AND SWEEP THE STREETS IN AMERICA ARE TREATED WITH RESPECT IN NIGERIA. THAT YOU WILL NEVER SEE IN SA. |
NaijaPikinGidi:Nigerians at school have at some point taught about the SA history and have even wrote exams about it. So, who is the holder of the fine history now? |
lezz:Are you aware that America does not even fully represent its aborigines yet they are sitting unchallenged at the UN security council. If you do not see SA as being fully representative of Africa, then you first have to turn your pointing finger at your friends admired country. |
NaijaPikinGidi:Nigeria does not have such a fine history. That you can only locate down south of the continent. |
