UdyOgwoUde: With the way things are going in Nigeria, if Buhari declares for 3rd term, nothing will happen. Nobody go shit. I was in Owerri today, and I can say 95% of Imolites are not happy with the Supreme Court judgement, but what can they do in this wicked administration? If Tanko judgement doesn't worth hitting the street in massive protest, then nothing fit happen if Buhari is reelected for the 3rd term in 2023 I watched "Journalists Hangout" recently, the popular discussion program on Tvc and the 3 guys there, renowned journalists, concurred that if buhari were to contest for a 3rd term he would win hands down, because he has a fanatical followership of something like 11 million who will always vote for him - and that block vote is enough to secure him the win. |

Iamgrey5: @ emboldened
Please pray tell
How exactly are they structured?
You obviously don't know what you are talking about bruv
They are under the command of the police and they can only make citizens arrest and hand the criminals over to the police
They are not to work in isolation of the Nigerian police.
They were created because as it is the case the northeast, the police don't often have local knowledge of criminals like the local vigilantes. I thought i was talking with somebody abreast of the facts. |
Politics › Re: Amotekun: Akeredolu Replies Malami, Says Laws Are Not Made In AGF’s Office by mu2sa2: 4:29pm On Jan 15, 2020 |
Iamgrey5: The courts would not act very quickly on issues of two state actors.
The case would take a while like those Election tribunals.
The DSS and police can not arrest them because they are already operating before now, they would simply continue to operate as local vigilantes or forest guards of their respective states before the court pronouncements. Amotekun is not structured to operate the way vigilantes and forest guards operate. And they're not operating under the control of the police. Worse still there's no law establishing the outfit - btw, does this not amount to operating outside the law? |

Iamgrey5: What law will make them arrest them
You forget many of the groups that merged into Amotekun are already operating as community police and private security firms before now.
Even Ipob had to proscribed by a court before they were disseminated. Fg has the police, dss and the armed forces. And the court will do the needful willingly or otherwise. Hahahaha, dey there dey ask which law. |

Iamgrey5: I said the same thing yesterday.
He is simply a chief lawyer to the government not the constitution himself.
He can not determine what is legal or not.
Well done! Governor Akeredolu SAN for putting the AGF in his place. By the time police, Dss and soldiers start arresting the amotekun jesters for carrying illegal firearms or obstructing the highway or using unroadworthy vehicles, amotekun will disappear as quickly as it appeared. They can go to court and, hahahaha, there the needful will be done to bury the amotekun for good. Op, you've been hearing of federal might, right? Ok, it's real! |
Politics › Re: Rochas Okorocha Celebrates The Sack Of Ihedioha By Supreme Court. Sings, Claps by mu2sa2: 3:36pm On Jan 15, 2020 |
axglide: Na heavy celebrations ooo.
This is true i agree, he might still answer for all allegations; but Ihedioha was more like on a personal vendetta. His all outtedness to discredit Rochas in everything looked petty to be honest.
The celebrant today is Rochas and i think he'd always win. Why? I grew up in Jos, my neighbors children went to his free school; and i heard this schools are in many states; this man has groomed a generation of students with free education, i don't know if he's ritualistic or not, but he'll always have good will. His philanthropy will speak for him.
When our parents drove us to Apollo crescent in Jos in the early 80's, there was an U-shaped flat that had a lot of peugeot always parked in front of the house, we often heard that it was owned by a business man, later on i found out that it was Rochas that once lived there; since then the guy has been growing. He left that flat and built a huge mansion opposite federal secretariat Jos; this man you see today is a great man.
He will go far in Nigeria's politics, he's a smart politician. I dont care a hoot about imo politics, but the thing I like about okorocha is the schools he has build across the country providing absolutely free education to poor children long before he even thought of contesting for governor. I read that he also has a school in Owerri with the students drawn from all over Africa - enjoying free education. Whether this is politics or for show, it is still good politics and commendable showmanship. |
