Quote from Kobojunkie A vote for GEJ is a vote for Bankole, Iyabo Obasanjo and many more you voted out last Saturday Seems like your holy mallam Buhari has also caught the PDP bug.In order words, a vote for Buhari is a vote for Babangida, Ciroma, Atiku and Gusau( all PDP members) right? Presidential polls: Buhari meets Ciroma group today. |
Wadeoye:I can see Buhari already has a name for the party he would use to contest in 2015:DDD i.e 3 DEFEATS ( 2003, 2007, 2011) |
A vote for GEJ is a vote for Bankole, Iyabo Obasanjo and many more you voted out last SaturdayJust like the rejection of CPC in the NASS elections is a rejection of Buhari and the dismal performance of CPC in the North is equal to a dismal performance of Buhari. |

I have a dream that one day a Nigerian from any part of Nigeria would be President. I have a dream that one day an educated man would be President in Nigeria. I have a dream that one day Nigeria would hold a free and fair election. I have a dream that one day I would just drive into the filling station and buy fuel without queues. I have a dream that one day youthful men with fresh ideas would take over the leadership of Nigeria. I have a dream that one day Nigeria would be free from the shackles of ex generals and dictators. I have a dream that one day Nigeria would have a workable Roadmap for the power sector. I have a dream that one day there would be peace in the Niger Delta and oil production would increase. I have a dream that one day the Nigerian government would enact a law like the PIB to ensure the country recieves more from its resources. I have a dream that one day we would have a president who cares about workers welfare and therefore increases the minimum wage they earn I have a dream that one day we would have a President who know the value of education and therefore establishes more universities. I have a dream that one day we would have a president who does not interfere in the electoral process I have a dream that one day we would have the trains working again in Nigeria I have a dream that one day we would have a president that values press freedom I have a dream that one day we would have a president who understands economics I have a dream that one day Nigeria will rise up and live out the true meaning of its motto:Unity, Peace and Progress I have a dream today that one day, we wold have the dream team of GOODLUCK JONATHAN and NAMADI SAMBO taking us to the promised land. PM NEWS Northern voters may already have unsettled the presidential ambition of General Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the CPC, going by the substantial retrns last weekend’s parliamentary elections. Pre- election prediction had given Buhari a swathe of territory in the Northern parts of the country, with pundits giving his man rival, President Goodluck Jonathan, a solid support base in the South east, South South and North Central zones of the country. But voting trends only confirmed Jonathan’s strength, but have shattered bookmakers’ predictions for General Buhari.According to the results of the elections, Buhari’s CPC, performed woefully in some parts of the North West considered its stronghold, with the PDP trouncing his part in those areas. Where the PDP did not hold sway, the ANPP filled the vacuum Read more, http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/04/11/nothern-voters-shatter-buharis-presidential-hopes/ |
"Some say I rely on luck, but was it luck that got rid of fuel queues, revived our textile industries, rescued our banking sector, ensured total radar coverage for Nigeria, is reviving our rail infrastructure or expanded the economy by over 8% making Nigeria the 4th fastest growing economy in the world? Those are the result of hard work. Only hard work can make Nigeria work". GEJ(on Facebook) |
PDP routs Buhari, ANPP , As ACN, LP sack ruling party from South-West By SEYE OJO Monday, April 11, 2011 Contrary to expectations, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) underscored its supremacy in the Northern states over General Muhammadu Buhari’s Congress for Progressive Change CPC and the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP). The ruling party proved bookmakers wrong by clinching many Federal Constituency and Senatorial district seats in states, which the CPC and ANPP were believed would have smooth runs. In Kano for instance, PDP snatched two senatorial seats, leaving the ANPP with the remaining seat PDP also recorded victory in 11 Federal constituencies ANPP won eight and CPC two. The ruling party also made a clean sweep of six of the results declared so far in Sokoto State as at press time out of 11. PDP looks set to retain its majority in the National; Assembly with the results declared so far. Besides giving the main opposition parties in the North West the run for their money, the ruling party hade a convincing victory in North Central, winning all the three senatorial seats in Kwara, Kogi and two in Benue with the east result still being awaited. In the South South PDP won all senatorial and Federal constituency seats declared so far in Rivers and won two senatorial districts in Akwa Ibom, while one seat is outstanding. The South East governors fulfilled their vow to deliver the zone to the PDP, which won majority National Assembly seats in the geo-political area. However, the duo of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and Labour Party (LP) reversed victories recorded by the PDP in the last general elections in the zone |

Jarus:Perphaps ypu are the one who dont get it. So I would try agin. If Kano people do not like GEJ and voted for Atiku, does it mean they like Buhari? If Kano people did not vote for GEJ and voted for Atiku because of Zoning or Northern sentiments, does it mean the vote would now go to Buhari considering the fact that there are other Northern contestants including Shekarau(their Governor)? Rather than bet with you about kano, I suggest you join team BB in the meeting they are having right now to analyse the SHOCKING dismal perfomamce in Kano.( I could tell you the venue if you want). Besides, the presidency is about Nigeria not Kano so I would rather bet with you on GEJ winning the presidency cos thats what matters! |
luluosas:Unfortunately, I cant answer your question because from my primary school to secondary school, I always took the first position. Because of that I was given scholarship to go to the univerisity.Again, I had a first class. I was then given another scholarship to go to the UK for my Masters and yet again, I made a Distinction before I was awarded yet another scholarship to study for my PhD. So as you can see, I dont understand what it feels like to just pass or to be an 'also ran'. |
opalu:I am not surprised that you do not get my point. I am also not surprised that you are asking me what quality of argument I am referring to. If you understand the meaning of the word "because", you would not ask me that question. BTW, the world is now a global village and so the action does take place anywhere.Besides, being in the UK and communicate with sensible people has also helped to improve my sense. |
real4life:I am not surprised at your mumuness cos I dont expect anything better from a Buhari fan. How many people in a typical village in Nigeria have GSM or even know how to use a phone how much more in the North where there is high rate of illiteracy. |
Jarus:If primary elections have any correlation with general elections, then PDP would have won all the South West States and Katsina because GEJ won those states during the primaries.Pls lets try and improve the quality of our arguments because I am unable to undertand what primary elections has got in common with general elections especially in the presidential elections where non of the candidates particpated in each other's primaries. ? |
luluosas:I love your defeat- conceding speech. I believe Buhari must have prepared something similar by now. |
Genbuhari3:I have listened with keen interest the new song being played by Buhari fans on NL concerning the voting patter in the North. Before the NASS elections, the song was that CPC would sweep the entire elective offices in the North. However, following their dismal performance in the NASS elections, the song has now changed to ‘tis election was between PDP’s Musa and CPC’s Musa and thats why it didn’t matter to the people who they voted’ and that ‘Presidential elections would be between PDP’s Moses and CPC’s Musa’. With this kind of song, it appears that either the scales have not yet fallen from the eyes of SOME Buhari supporters or they prefer to wallow in self delusion. If it was about Musa and Musa, how come the people in Katsina preferred the CPC Musas while Kano and Sokoto people preferred PDP’s Musa to CPC Musas. Obviously, most buhari supporters do not understand the basics of politics. Otherwise they would have known that all the elected senators and Reps from the North would rather work with a president from their party than a president from CPC. One reason for this is that a CPC president would be constrained to compensate the CPC members that lost with appointments in order to build their political clout while with a PDP president, the Northern PDP senators-elect would have more opportunities to compensate their followers who voted for them. Besides, how is CPC going to reach the people in the villages in the North who voted for Umbrella last week and let them know that this week it would be the sword when they have no elected councillor or offices in these places? Simply put: the NASS results indicates how far CPC and Buhari can go. i.e CPC is imbibed in Buhari’s state and have a few sympathizers within the North. That was how the votes went on Saturday; that is how it would on Saturday. BTW the Northern caucus went quiet not only for the presidential campaigns but also for all other elections because the time for talking has passed and this is the time for action i.e mobilizing at the grassroots. Unfortunately, with no councillor and limited resources,CPC cannot do that. which is why they are still busy making noise with campaigns in only state capitals |
I think the poster does not understand the basics of partisan politics. All the elected senators and Reps from the North would rather work with a president from their party than a president from CPC. One reason for this is that a CPC president would be constrained to compensate the CPC members that lost with appointments in order to build their political clout while with a PDP president, the Northern PDP senators-elect would have more opportunities to compensate their followers who voted for them. The reports of the death of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) might have been exaggerated after all, going by the results of the National Assembly elections so far declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). While the ruling party has lost its National Assembly seats in many states, especially in the South-west, it is still leading the table in all the results that have been officially declared. A key highlight of Sunday's result was the humbling of PDP’s Hajia Maryam, daughter of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, in the Katsina federal constituency. Of the 94 senatorial districts where elections were held last Saturday following the postponement of polls in 15 others, INEC has declared results in 82, with the PDP winning 52 seats. The ruling party lost most of its seats to the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the South-west and Edo, and the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in some Northern states, specifically Niger, Katsina and Kaduna. The PDP, which controls 83 seats in the current Senate, looks set to lose its absolute majority having been dealt a body blow by the CPC which claimed all the three seats in Katsina State, the home of the party’s presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. The ACN also ate deep into PDP’s hold on the South-west, thereby emerging the biggest gainer with 13 seats, compared to the nine it currently has. ACN took one seat from the PDP in Edo, two from PDP in Oyo and all three in Osun, while PDP also lost all three seats to the Labour Party (LP) in Ondo State. The CPC did not sweep the North-west as widely predicted, with the PDP going strong in Jigawa, Kano, Sokoto and Kebbi, while the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) did well in Zamfara State, contrary to permutations. While House Speaker Dimeji Bankole lost to the ACN in Abeokuta, Senate President David Mark won the race for Senate for the fourth time in a row after initial reports said he was losing. Mark said in Otukpo, Benue State shortly after he was declared winner, that he owed his victory to God and the good people of Benue South. He polled a total of 147,923 to defeat his rival General Lawrence Onoja of ACN who scored 79,433. In Katsina, PDP lost the three Senate seats to CPC. Former President Yar’Adua’s daughter replaced her ailing husband, Hon Badamasi Kabir Usman, as the PDP candidate who was unable to contest due to health problems. But she was defeated by CPC’s Moh’d Tukur Abba Sada with 45,573 to 26,573 votes. In the Senate election, Senator Ibrahim Ida (Central) lost to Ahmed Sani Stores. Senator Kanti Bello (North) lost to Senator Abdu Yandoma, while Senator Abu Ibrahim won Katsina South. Senator Ibrahim won by 324,652 votes to defeat Tukur Jikamshi of the PDP who garnered 198,127 votes for the runner-up position. Jikamshi was the deputy to the late President Yar’Adua when he was state governor during his first tenure from 1999 to 2003. Stores defeated Senator Ida with 217,154 votes; lda got 188,302 votes as runner-up. The PDP was declared winner in two of the three senatorial seats contested for in Anambra State. According to the results released by the commission in the three zonal collation centres in the states, the PDP candidate in Anambra North, Prince John Emeka, was declared winner. He polled 60,788 votes to beat former senator and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Senator Joy Emodi, who came second with 54,060 votes. In Anambra South, PDP was again declared winner with 53,315 votes, while the APGA candidate, Chief Chuma Nzeribe scored 43,789 votes to come second. Both candidates of PDP in the South, Dr. Andy Uba and Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu claimed victory making INEC to declare the party as the winner. The case to determine who will represent the party is still in court. But in Anambra central where both the ACN candidate, Dr. Chris Ngige, and his APGA counterpart, Prof. Dora Akunyili, contested alongside Senator Annie Okonkwo of the Accord Party and Ogugua Okoye of the PDP, the announcement of the result was stalemated. The Senatorial Returning officer for the zone, Alex Anene, ran away from the INEC Collation centre in Awka after ACN agents stood their grounds that the results would not be announced because of alleged manipulation of results by APGA in Anaocha Council area which is one of the council areas in the zone. Meanwhile, candidate of Accord Party in last weekend’s election for the Ika Federal Constituency of Delta State, Victor Nwokolo, has filed a petition with the police in Agbor, Delta State, complaining against the Returning Officer for the constituency, Mr. O. G. Avwioro, over his “persistent” refusal to release his result sheet to him (Nwokolo). He polled 17,205 to defeat the incumbent, Hon. Doris Uboh, who scored 14,729 votes. Festus Okoh of Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) polled 9,533 votes. |
soloqy:Its good you have realized. I smelled his mental problems from afar and thats why I choose to ignore him because where I come from you dont argue with a mad man. |
BetaThings:If you feel it was lawless, then brief Femi Falana to go to court. Until then, it gladdens my heart that a President is so concerned about education that he 'decreed' not 1 but 6 universities into existence. Below is just a tip of Buhari's woeful peformance in the education sector.Compare and contrast Buhari and Education "When Buhari came into power, the educational sector was facing some problems. However, the Buhari government lacked a rational and systematic solution to the problems. Instead, the government assumed a draconian posture and tried to force every desire it sought on the people. For example, state governors were mandated to clear all salary arrears within three months. But this remained unresolved after the deadline. It remained in fact so till 1985 when the government was again overthrown." By the way, do you know that it was Buhari that first introduced fees and levies in our schools despite the strong condemnation by ASUU. Do you also know that before Buhari came, university students had their meals arranged by the government and given to them at highly subsidized rates and Buhari stopped it when he came in.Why am I even saying this sef. What else can one expect from an illiterate. |

The continuous reward we give to Corrupt politicians hiding behind silly ethnic and religious arguments? The fact that GEJ is a clueless man with zero balls to fix Nigeria, speak against corruption, ensure True federalism, Push for the passage of relevant bills(PIB, FOI) What exactly am I speechless about? Read Eziachi's excellent posts and tell us what are you've been "vocal" about on behalf of ALL Nigerians.[/quote]Speechless about the fact that you just realised that Nigerians knew all along that it doent take an illiterate draconian leader to solve all the problems you just mentioned. How many PIBs and FOIs did Buhari promulgate with military fiat when he had the power to do so without having to 'push'. I would rather have a PIB yet to be passed and an FOI yet to be signed than to have a signed Decree 4. |
