No one expected the CPC 2perform like this in the NASS election given the fact that the north is dominated by the ANPP and the PDP.

So that means Buhari fans have been decieving us all this way because if they go through the threads in the politics section, you would see that pretended that cpc to outperform every other party in all the elections that they have candidates it.

I am still trying to understand the basis for the celebrations of the anniihilation of PDP oh. From the CONFIRMED results, PDP only lost its grip on the South  West(expectedly so). The results released so far shows that PDP is the only party to win seats nationally.For example, in the senatorial elections they have in Kwara - 3 seats, Edo -1, Rivers 3, Kogi - 1, Gombe - 1, Adamaa -1, Benue - 3, Enugu - 3, Abia - 3 etc. They have won seats in all parts of the country while CPC cannot even manage to get reasonable votes outside some parts of the North. So I really dont get it when people celebrate that pdp is finished especially as the few ACN and APGA seats in the South East were also won by associates of pdp eg. Dora Akunyili .Or is there a different result that cpc and buhari fans are seeing?

Yes he did but I think its really PDP especially OGD and OBJ that let him down. They factionalised and weakened the party in the state. If you look at the result you would see that PDP votes were split between with PPN( the party OGB endorsed) thereby paviing the way for pdp to stumble there. Anyway, i never like Bankole sha.

Obviously, you people think election is a joke that is why you are producing 'fantasy' results. For your information, confirmed results from the NORTH shows that PDP has won 7 senatorial seats already ( in the North oh!) made up of Kwara - 3, Benue 2, Adamawa - 1 and Gombe - 1, yet you stay there and give pdp 10 seats in your fantasy results.Well, thank God, its INEC results that matters.

This is not a question of people's mind changing. People have made up their minds to vote GEJ even before this extra achievement. Let the final results come out. Compare the total votes cast and spread for each party after that, you can start crying. The presidential election is about votes and spread. PDP is the most visible party in the nation. Don't be too sure about that, once Alaibe realises that He doesn't need GEJ to remain relevant to his people, He would prefer to remain in a party that He can easily have a strangle hold of. a party with lesser competitors. And the fear of the next election (4 yrs time) will make politicians think twice before making any decisions.

Are you sure that is in the law? To the best of my knowlegde, it was muted but not passed. Besides, the consitution allows where there is 'division' in the party and the constitution is superior to any other law. So all a person needs to prove to decamp is that there are factions in the party, and in Nigeria's politics, thats a normal occurence

No need to celebrate cos we have been here before. 90% of the ACN and APGA candidates in the South East are PDP members and affiliates of GEJ who went there to get the tickets. When GEJ wins, they would all decamp back to PDP as usual.Even in Bayelsa where Labour Party is projected to win the Governorship, Alaibe is an associate of GEJ who would again definitely go back to PDP if he wins. The point is, people are voting for individuals more than party, thats why PDP could win in Gombe.

It appears the battle is really between the PDP and the ACN. All the noise about CPC starts and ends in a few states in the north

You just confirmed that your arguments are always blind. Which THISDAY POLL are you talking about? For your infomation, THISDAY POLL gave only Kaduna South to PDP and the other 2 to CPC. Thats exactly what might be happening confirming again the credibility of the Poll.

Have any results be announced otherwise? The last time I checked, PDP was leading in Akwa Ibom, David Mark leading in Benue and PDP leading in Bayelsa West. Except of course, you are relying on the 'entertainment' results posted on NL. Unfortunately, thats not the result that counts.

I agree with you. If the voting pattern is replicated next week, then the presidential elections would be between GEJ and Ribadu while Buhari would come a distant third with significant votes in only a few states in the north just like he did in 2003 and 2007.

Lets be objective for once. There is no way Mark was going to lose. If you have friends in his senatorial district, ask them to get feelers rather than staying here and believing that any win by PP is rigging and any win by opposition is free and fair. For your information, Mark is very popular and loved in his senatorial district and in senatarial elections, they are the ones who vote not people on Nairaland.

Remember that the outcome of this house of assembly election wl in no way determines the result of the presidential election coz people wl be voting for GEJ and nt party. You just brought it out of my mind. As a matter of fact, there is nothing strange about the results coming in so far. It largely reflects THISDAY POLLS prediction and is further evidence that the poll is credible and thus GEJ would win.For example, THISDAY POLLS gave Benue to ACN for national assembly and governorship polls and Presidential to PDP. Same thing with Lagos. So for me, this is good news for GEJ because he would even surpass Thisday prediction as I believe that more people would now vote for him for allowing a free and fair elections at yesterday polls.BTW, I hope the Buhari supporters celebrating realise that CPC is only winning where the are strongly projected to win. They are unable to make any inroads outside of thier base, rather they lost Borno to PDP.
