BusinessSeun You Need A Business Classified Section by mubaraqqq(op): 9:14pm On Jul 17, 2007
It's becoming ridiculous. I thought this was a section to exchange ideas about business and talk about business issues. However, this place has been

turned into, people peddling fake business. Consultants looking for work. People selling things. It's really getting out of hand.

BusinessRe: ShopRite Nigeria by mubaraqqq(f): 8:43pm On Jul 05, 2007
I visited Shoprite while I was in Nigeria. And i have to tell that the shoprite is exactly like the one in America. I can tell that half of their budget is spent on security. when you go in there, you can tell security is everywhere in plain clothes. They don't raise their prices is the same.

By the way, it is owned by Lebanese people. The open market is not outdated It just needs to be cleaner and somebody needs to come up with more ideas on how to improve it.
BusinessBusiness Idea by mubaraqqq(op): 7:20pm On Jul 02, 2007
Here is a freebie for all those always asking for business ideas.  As we all know Nigerians now have a very bad reputation among retailers, business abroad. People will never ship anything to Nigeria.   What they need is an intermediary that is willing to vouch for those people in Nigeria.

How you ask?  For instance, I am in Nigeria and I need to buy merchandise from a retailer abroad, it can be online or any where in the world. The retailer says no way he is not doing business with Nigerians.  Because he has been burned, heard stories blah blah blah …….

As an intermediary you will go up to retailer and say I have checked out the business they are legit. The intermediary will have to insure that product 100%. Which means the intermediary really have to be on the ground to make sure the business is legit and carry a hefty insurance to cover you.

Now the intermediary would have to sell itself to both sides.  Convince people doing business in Nigeria they need to register with them. The harder part will be convincing the retailers abroad that you are legit and will insure them 100%

This will be like the Better Business Bureau. In order words any body that wants to do business abroad will have to sign up with you.
BusinessRe: Used Computers: How Is The Market? by mubaraqqq(f): 7:53pm On Jun 26, 2007
i tried doing this business before and i will advise anybody that wants to get into it, to research properly. Nigerians will

always tell you to bring any product that it will sell. Na lie. If you go to computer village in lagos you will see the same

thing you are trying to sell at a cheaper rate. I hade three people investigate this for me in different cities in Nigeria. And i

found that the used there is absoluetly no profit. And what people want is the new ones, not china made ( Toshiba, Dell).

Nigerians are getting sick of China made. The new ones but if you are to make anysubstantial profit you have to buy a lot

and ship. Or take it there yourself to save on shipping cost.
